| Hardcore Mode | Started by: Noble on May 23, '15 20:02 |

Would you guys consider a hardcore mode for Mafia Returns. Try it as beta by just making it optional and it could be turned off or on on the profile. This is to just challenge one and not upset the game currently. But the kick is if it is on, robbing a liquor store can get you killed. You better steal enough grandmas purses in order to get enough XP to not fail, you better have balls of experience of stealing an old ladies purse. Plus you get the same consequences from real life if you get caught stealing a purse, if its a year or two in jail that is how much you spend in real time on mafia returns. A friend has to have enough XP to break you out, and a jail break can kill them. Considering in real life getting caught doing this with good behavior could land you a couple weeks in jail. Also allow the city to be more real how it was intended to be. New York is the toughest while LA should be more easy. West to East is from Easy to Hard. Also the harder the place the more cash grandma will have in the purse along with the xp. So make it real is the bottom line of this. Real sentences, real consequences. |

Sounds rather unplayable to be honest. |

I mean you wouldnt die stealing a grandmas purse, if you get caught well surrender in real life. You don't get the death penalty so just have the sentence served. Do the stealing in LA where it is easier, if it is an Easy to Hard system. Also keep the code the way it is so being a Goomba means something. Being a gangster is a big step in life from being a thug and that is automatic, but as a goomba you need to make 5 more units. The exp needed to make that should reflect the time you stole purses. Also if you make it miraculously to Godfather you sure are a legend with all that power, and I know people here are smart enough to find a way and make it there. |

It would definitely be different, but I think making it a bit more realistic would be a cool change. |

Also if it is unplayable than just make it adjustable, more exp per crime. That way it means something to rob and the rank is put on prestige becuase of the crimes that person has done. Plus instead of making it death sentences just make them real life sentences, and a jail break would be a jail break type sentence. So a year in real life for doing a jail break for breaking a friend out that is in for a couple weeks. |

well, i would suggest to frame it as a new city, where things are hard to be done , or lets say police are more strict, and consequently, it is difficult to do crimes while there, but more rewarding as well. I wouldnt like it as a hardcore mode on and off, but rather a new city where things are difficult to be done, Jails guards are always 20's and may be 40's, no zeros Only high ranks can travel there...etc |

It sounds interesting in theory but also sounds like something that could easily be overrun by those who have a lot of free time/money to devote to the game. I know that in this thing of ours, money talks, rather loudly. Those who have more, get more as is the way of the world and it seems like something that could be easily overrun or dominated by that aspect. |

Yeah it would be hard to pinpoint but not impossible on the ideal version of how it should be ran. But bottom line would be hardcore mode. |

No offense, but how would a two year jail sentence for committing a crime be fun? I'm genuinely curious. Surely, there needs to be a balance between realism and entertainment? There would be no reason to play, otherwise. The game as it is isn't easy, per se - but it makes a world of difference once you learn the ropes. I can understand extending jail sentences to a degree - as currently, a jail sentence has no consequence and doesn't really serve as a punishment (unless you are dumped there by an Admin). |

Exactly make your choices wisley and now things mean something. It would still be fun and now a phone call and friends would be more on alert. It would also be wise to not make crimes until you have back up. |
