| I think it woukd be a great idea to have a training camp that focuses on those with great potential. Too often we hear the vets say "you had so much potential and your work was valued." Yet these same vets don't give their 100% mentoring those they sponsor. I had a GF actually use caps and . in between each word when I asked a logical question. I was told everyone knows...I responed back in the same fashion if everyone knew I woukd not be asking. Vets fear being surpassed and that is pathetic and very counter productive. | |

Not all "vets" are like that though. Some teach those who come to them with questions. Many of us aren't afraid to help a new player or even an old player. I'm sorry you've run into bad experiences. There are the Wikilinks beside features as well as the HelpDesk. A lot of the time you'll find answers in the Help forum as well as the News and Announcements forum. The instruction of a newcomer is up to the crew they join, primarily their sponsor. Get to know who you are joining before you join. You have 48 hours to arrange sponsorship. If it comes down to it approach other members of the family in regards to your query. |

Indeed. It's a shame that your bad experience has tarnished the reputation of many. I can assure you that the majority of 'vets' are incredibly helpful and patient, and take great pleasure in giving a helping hand to a newer player. From my own experience it's incredibly rewarding! I still ask questions to this day, and likely always will. Good luck on your search, comrade. |

In my opinion 48 hours is hardly enough time but that is here nor there. I want to make it clear there are good experiences with the bad. Some experiences were accompanied with mistakes that could of been avoided with proper mentoring. Vets are guilty of leaving a mobster with great potential stagnate. Whether it be out of selfishness, greed, or fear, it is a fact. |

Not all vets are like that. You keep saying we are all guilty of it. I still help people even though I do not sponsor them. If I see someone post in "Help" I will quite often contact them via mail to discuss their question. What happens when the new player pushes the vet's offers of help away? It's happened. 48 hours. 2 days. That's twooooooooooooo days to contact multiple sponsors and get to know them before choosing one. You can't just blame the vets. If the new people don't get to know us, ask questions, post in Help how are we to know that they need help. If it's a sponsor issue, then get to know your sponsor a bit before joining. |

No, it wouldn't. It's a game suggestion to bring in a 'training camp'. Therefore the suggestions forum is perfectly correct. |
