Thanks for the suggestions. Only 59, total antlered and antlerless, tags are available this year. I've already applied for one of the 59. The season is Nov. 2-7. Hopefully the Pennsylvania Elk herd continues to grow as it has been.

my dad shot a deer one time, but the bullet only grazed it's skull, when he went to slit it's throat it jumped up and got a front  leg stuck in the strap of Dad's binoculars.Dad got his ass handed to him for about 3 minutes, but he finally knifed it to death. I could of helped but i was practicing my lay in the bush and laugh myself invisible technique.

The older guys at our camp like the "slit the throat" approach. I just shoot them again if they're down and still able to lift their head.
