With Tony's huge cash flow from his illegal rackets Tony didn't want to be subject to federal investigation for owning a mansion and a Mercedes,  so with his Import & Export business making a decent cash flow he now expanded his holdings opening Salerno Concrete. With his connections to high powered politicians he was able to get the winning bids on some of the highest paying concrete contracts that were helping build the city of Detroit which translates into millions of dollars not only for himself but for the Detroit Partnership. After "winning" a $1,000,000 contract on a new office building Tony realized that with all this money coming in what should he do with it? So to help portray himself as a legit businessman and a friend of the people he opened up the Knights Of Sicily, a foundation dedicated to donating money to charities and public works such as grants for schools and the building of schools and hospitals.

                        As time went on Salerno Concrete was turning into a multi-million a year business making Tony a rich man! But what made him a real success was that his foundation was becoming a major influence both legal and illegal. The legal side of it was that he was becoming a hero in the Italian neighborhoods inspiring people that if one of them could come from nothing and be as rich and powerful as him they wanted to be just like him! A nickname he was gaining was The Pope for being almost as important to the Italians in Detroit as the Pope. But the illegal benefits were much worse, he was able to use his charity to make "donations" to politicians and police chiefs to make sure his illegal businesses were never bothered.

                     One day reading the local newspaper eating breakfast he saw he was on the front page the article read, "Anthony Salerno, a man of the people and the reigning King Of Concrete." As he was finishing the article Tony realized he was a major success like his father wanted, but now he wondered one thing. If Carnegie can come from nothing and takeover the steel business, why can't he? which made him think of a great title "The Man Of Steel".
