It seems like such a teasing idea. Only a few threads are worth the read. Everything else is just rants and complains, then more long rant replies for the extra exp.
But, Na, this is easily turn bad. |

| Or you (and others) could learn this amazing skill called willpower!! You can keep yourself from the Streets or any other forum. Just don't click the link! :) | |

Just don't click on the streets. It's pretty easy to avoid, most people do it without a block option as is stands. Utilize one ounce of will power. |

I was serious in the suggestion. I meant not blocking to read, but blocking from posting. It seems to me like there are dice addicts, there are posting addicts... |

Willpower, friends, willpower is what you need. I don't think this will add anything positive to the game, really. |

Lucius:
Do you think this is really the reason people post? |

Did you miss the point that this is a text based role playing game? If you did, you've just been informed. |

I'm sure that some are out there who post only to reap the rewards, but I'm fairly sure the majority posts in the streets to interact with others, share ideas, debate and whatnot. |

Ok, imagine the following situation: You are a temperamental person who has a lack of wllpower to restrain your anger. So at a moment a person gets you angry by some act or by saying something on the streets. And you try hard knowing it's dangerous, but can't restrain yourself posting something to tell that person how much you are pissed off. But you have not control and you being very angry write something you shouldn't, being disrespectful and or menacing. End of it you end up dead or worse case you end up responsible for the death of all your family, or even worse, your whole city. That's the moment you tell yourself: "Damn, if I had that block myself from the streets option as an anger management tool!"
Damn, and I thought all the time I was in a first person action shooter set in the 2030's, thanks for clarifying that to us Marcus. Seriously I think there's much more to the game than just RP text. You could perfectly well play it without even writing a single word on the streets. And I would tend to agree with Lucius, so many things aren't worth the read and are just making you loosing your time or will to read more interesting posts. I don't know for you but I feel saturated with it quite often... |

Then you should learn how to restrain your anger. You should work on your lack off willpower instead of being given an easy way out. You should tell yourself: ''Damn, if I wasn't such a fool I wouldn't be dead.''
And if you do so you miss out half (or more) of what this game has to offer.. Even if they aren't worth the read, why would you block it? Surely some things are worth to read.. and if you really don't enjoy RP/streets/discussion/whatever, are you sure this game is for you? |

Don't misunderstand me I am not talking about blocking others' posts but oneself's:
And yes some things are very interesting. I particulary like to read why this or that happened discussions. I don't like long texts a la "what is the weather like or what colors are the cars passing by", where the person has really nothing to say after 100 lines, just because that person needs vision points... |

| Still what do "boring" threads have to do with blocking your own posts? | |

Nothing. It was refering to what was said in this thread:
When someone says something in a thread, I can agree or not with what is being said without the need to open another new thread on the topic. Particulary if I think that I am saturated with threads. |

If you get so angry over a GAME that you let it have such a severe effect on you then instead of taking it out in the forums you should stand up, leave your computer/phone/tablet, go outside, breathe in deep through your nose, hold it for seven seconds, and exhale with force through parted lips, and repeat until you realise you just got pissed off over a GAME. If you seriously cannot control your temper then you should look into ways to learn how to. There is meditation and many relaxation methods such as the one I described above. Why should Squishy have to code something to prevent you from making an ass of yourself when you can do that yourself by simply walking away? |

| Also, you CHOOSE to click the link to the forum of choice. You CHOOSE to click the link to the thread of choice. You CHOOSE to read the thread. You CHOOSE to continue reading it when you feel yourself getting angry. These are choices YOU make. | |
