It's simple, an older bloodline has already earned their bonafides, their parents all the way back to their great great great grandpappy ect. proved they are hard workers, they went through what you're goin through now. And to make an assumption that someone isn't working as hard because of their families past is silly, how do you know they aren't working hard as or harder than you are? My family have walked these streets for as long as I can remember, yet I still bust ass for my boss, but yes I do believe I am given a certain trust based on my ancestors, which may be wrong in your eyes... but years from now when you are in the same position, someone will walk out to the streets, and give this exact same speech and you will listen, but will you still feel the same way? |

I get what your saying completely and i probably would not. I am a man of giving people the chance to prove them self be for i exclude them from anything. Always got to be able to let some one prove themselfs because if not how else are you to know the full potential of some one? |

This is a personal thought and opinion because i myself do not have any bloodline on this game and given the benefit of the doubt i was able to prove that i was ready for it. I know it's on the bolds but do you not think that without giving some one the chance to prove they are ready ? Without giving some one the doubt and giving them a chance to show if they are or not? If they are not then simply let them know and make them start fresh it's part of it some are ready and able to prove it some just can't. |

I have no problem at all treating bloodlines differently. It's a double edged sword, and not as simple as "when you've been around longer, things are easier". For example, let's say you're running your own family. You have a Wise Guy who is eligible to be promoted to Made Man. But guess what... his father went rogue. And his grandfather went rogue. And his great-grandfather... well, I'm sure you get the idea. Even if this guy has been working his ass off, aren't you going to make him jump through a few extra hoops (at least) before you make him? On the other hand, let's say you have a friend. A Don. Someone who has worked hard to get where they are. They are very, very active in the streets, making positive contributions wherever they can. And they're even more active with their donations. But then a war erupts and your friend is killed. Their son or daughter approaches you, seeming to possess the same core characteristics. Why shouldn't they receive some of the benefits of their parent's hard work, especially since they themselves are so much alike? And having a positive bloodline isn't always a positive thing. If you come from a bloodline that has a great reputation for street participation and you're a mute... well, that CL is probably expecting more out of you than the average newcomer. If you are the first of your family to arrive on these shores you have the chance to create a family line that is respected by many, and your children may reap some benefits of your own hard work. |

I wholeheartedly agree with Dillinger and Kates. I almost always wonder why these topics reach the street. since "no names will be mentioned" I have no idea if what you say is true at all. I'd say that it sounds like YOU think you deserve chances you are not being given. In turn, it also means that you think that somebody out there has a role that you deserve and they don't. I think this is something for you to discuss with Marietta as your leader, really. You have no idea what goes on in other crews and as far as your crew and your city, nobody better than her to answer your questions. |

Gangster A gets lots of bg's because thier family line is known to be hardcore and very wise in the ways of this world. Gangster B is new off the boat as well but has decided to partake of this world of crime out of necessity to survive. He knows nothing and knows nobody. Giving this gangster a ton of BG's just so they can shoot themselves in the face is bad judgement. Bust your ass and be trustworthy, over time you too will get lots of start up stuff. Otherwise this sounds like alot of sour grapes to me. |

Trust is a very important issue in this thing of ours. Getting brought into a Family, getting Made, maybe someday getting authorized to start your own Family, these things are done because your boss gives you a measure of trust. Fact is, it's easy to trust somebody if you knew their parents were good people. Respect, honor, and hard work aren't genetic traits, but as the old saying goes, "The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree," Certain bloodlines are known for certain things, good and bad, and this effects how easily a person will be able to make it in the world. |
