Don't Shoot Me. THANKS. Started by: LandShark on May 31, '15 21:13

There is a small sound coming from behind a dumpster, you probably wouldn't even notice it if you weren't paying attention closely enough, but it was surely there. At first a small patter, which slowly turned into a louder noise, the kind of thud that could only come from one partially amphibious creature, the dreaded Land Shark.

Everything was falling apart around him, the kind of falling apart that you only see if you're part of it. The cities weren't burning and the average joe wasn't able to tell, but a lot of shit had gone down in the past day. Power had shifted, much like the grumbling in the shark's stomach; you see there was a much more dire problem for him, he hadn't had anything to eat in nearly an entire day and he finally tracked down a squirrel into the back of an alley. It felt like only a minute, but perhaps it was a lot longer than that, after all this squirrel was quite the fiesty one and his ability to hide deep inside a trash can was an uncanny ability.

Bang. Bang.

Shit. His leader just died, and only inches away from the alley.

"Oh."

Just like that, he was homeless, but luckily he was only seconds away from the perfect place for a homeless creature, with mice and treats abound. He would stay like this, he thought to himself. Who needs a family when you have your own wits? Who needs to be confined to the rules of mafia society when you can forge your own way instead, and that's when his tiny shark-arms were finally able to reach the squirrel, and he was happy.

Now full, he would take on the world if he had to. Just without a crew, because fuck me those are expensive.

Don't shoot. I'm kind of a big deal.

Not joking.

Please don't.

Thanks.

He sat quietly in the new box that he called home, when all of a sudden the creature noticed the giant megamart that had been closed for what felt like years was only a short walk  from where he sat. Walking over, he looked around for a moment before attempting to head inside. The doors were locked tight, but clearly they weren't invented to keep the strength of a shark at bay, because with only a few slams of his head it opened with ease.

The place was wonderful if you liked the sight of mold and disgust, it seems that when they closed it down no one really cared about the upkeep it would need, but for Sharky, this was just another place to call home. If anyone could handle these sort of gross living conditions, it was him; one time he even lived in Philadelphia, at least this place smelled less like piss than there.

"Wonderful."

This is when he got to work. A lot of work.

After a few days it was ready, dragging his box into the store he pulled it into the middle of the area, knocking down a few aisles in the process, he finally had found a new home. Chicago, he would make it great again, or die trying. Actually, he would definitely die trying, for some reason the other men and women of the mob wanted to keep this place empty for now, but he figured that only applied to humans.

Sharks do whatever the fuck they want.

I suppose this also includes moving over from the land to become real shark bait....

Report Post Tip

Karmen had heard the news through the grape vine that LandShark had tried to set up in Chicago.. She couldn't really understand why he would want to do such a thing, and obviously it ended in his untimely death. Maybe that was what he wanted? A way out?

There were easier ways to get out of this life, but hey. To each their own. She knew for certain though that if she could pick the way to go out of this life, a hail of bullets would most definitely NOT be her first choice. Maybe.. in her sleep peacefully? Or sunbathing in a chair while listening to calm, soothing music? Those were just two things that would be better than bullets ripping through her skin.

"Well, rest in peace," she said while looking at the wreckage of where LandShark tried to set up. "I know we had a falling out awhile back but I would never wish death on anyone. May your kin come back and make a good name for themselves."

She turned around from the scene and made her way back to the small plane that had carried her to this location. She had some business to attend to in Detroit and there was really no use bringing up old problems to a dead man.
