| Do you trust your Leader(s)? | Started by: freeatlast on Jun 03, '15 02:48 |

Some of these questions are oddly specific, and I'm pretty damn sure one of them actually happened to you, freeatlast. Some questions are just weird, like:
Why the hell wouldn't you appreciate that? I have to agree with DarthMaul here, some of these questions are no-brainers and are not very helpful.. in any direction. But I guess it does something to your DNA or something.. |

| Interesting quote, but what does it have to do with the subject at hand? | |

As Luigi listened to everyone debate his friend freeatlast's speech, he reflected on his own views and slowly got his thoughts in order. He felt that the only question that was really of major importance was the "Do you trust your Leaders?". Answer that one and the rest pretty much answer themselves. When he felt he was ready he stood up and proceeded to give his view on the subject. Now I am only going to discuss the real question here and that is "Do you trust your leaders?" First of all someone made the comment that they wouldn't join a crew if they didn't trust the leader. Well that is all well and good if your family has been around for awhile and you have had a chance to see how the leaders lead, before you join a crew. If you are new to this great land of ours and don't know the people when you first get here and are approached you have to go by your gut. At that point you give your leaders your trust and loyalty 100%, until they show otherwise. Every leader through out time has had there own style of leading, some better than others. You as the one who makes the decision as to who you will follow need to make the effort to check that leader out ahead of time, by listening to the people in the street and the crew where possible. Check out the area, is it prospering or not, are the people happy in general or not? One thing I will add a great leader is one who is loved by his followers, not because they gave access to themselves to everyone, but because of how they lead and take care of their people. Trust and respect at the beginning is given, but trust and respect kept is earned. With that Luigi went back to his drink and contemplation. |

Gollum again scales the walls of new york. He overheard a question about trust and loyalty to leaders. Out of all the questions being asked he decided to very clearly answer three that stood out to him.
Trust goes beyond just speaking to people. I think trust can be increased and decreased. Sure one can increase trust with someone based off of their investment in you and could possibly win you over more and more each message they send or letter they write. If you lose trust with someone because they aren't the ones to initiate a conversation with you OR because their current inbox is flooded with letters from others than i think it is fair to cut them a little slack.
So Dr_kennethnoisewater and _Dollface have personally saved me from the dangers of being killed and there is no greater feeling than when your leader is willing to say, "All this work i put into this life and you are worth losing it all in an instant." That is more than appreciation that is loyalty to the end that will be earned. It is more than just a job, it is a sacrificial choice one makes to save an individual.
Personally i know i have made some mistakes and errors. Due to just not checking to see who has contacted recently and just assuming things were going to happen or were happening. Sorry for being vague but i dare not discuss specific stories. I was in the wrong is all i need to express. Can we pardon from errors in the past? Yes. It is not the easiest of tasks to accomplish. People don't just immediately trust you but those with intelligence know that a person can change. The beautiful thing about this life is that we have ancestors who are probably polar opposites from who we are. If you look at your own life, you have probably made mistakes and regret certain actions. You can always redeem yourself and if someone doesnt want to forgive you, earn it. |

Haven't eaten at McDo for years... Am on healthier foods and drinks, how much unhealthy it might sound. Wouldn't recommend any kiddo to go to McDo nowadays. So Salty and greazy... Try some olive oil on true Italian pizzas instead kiddos! |

Reason was walking down the street when he heard freeatlast talking. Hearing what he said, he started writing his questions on a list so he can later remember when answering them, one by one. - If your leader doesn't speak to you, explain things to you, would it be as a simple thing as what a tag means, do you trust him? Reason started thinking on past experiences to see if he could relate to this question. Sadly, he couldn't. All crew leaders have taught him plenty and have always like communicating with their family. However, not all crew leaders are the same and he certainly did not get all of them. "I think that if your leader doesn't speak to you, that means you either did something wrong or it is just because your a new guy who never asked around. Who know, maybe he could be occupied with other things and he never got time to talk to you in person. I would still trust that crew leader, but I would try my best to interact with him and see what's wrong, if anything is. -If your Leader buys you off from a hitlist, or vows for you, no mater the danger, do you apreciate that? Reason chuckled at this question as it seemed silly to him. If a crew leader bought him off a hit list, he would be forever grateful and in life debt. "Of course I would be appreciating the fact that he possibly saved my life by taking me off a hitter's list. What kind of question is that? Even if I was a crew leader and it was me on that list and someone bought it off for me, I would be freaking happy. I would thank the person a thousand time and more." - Supose your lazy leader treats you like less than shit, after being his second biggest hitter and second best earner, do you push him to the edge of his nerves, just to kill you so you could be set free, or do you just retire/suicide? Reason thought upon this and he quickly made up his mind for an answer. He made up his mind way quicker than he would have thought it, considering the question. "If my leader would treat me like shit, I wouldn't do the same. I would ask him why the Hell he's been such a prick lately, of course, in a nice way, and wait for a response. However, if it was that bad, I would probably talk about this to another crew leader that I trust, bringing forth proof of this. If I was a big hitter and a big earner, I wouldn't commit suicide. That would be a waste of time." Reason also thought on the fact that if the crew leader treated him like shit, then why would he put him as Right Hand Man? That would be completely ridiculous and that crew leader would have been a horrible one, even more stupid. If a leader demotes you to thug and says he doesn't like your humor, for not knowing you, after choosing you for his RH, you would trust him? Reason, upon reading this question that he wrote down in his notes, thought it was extremely similar to the previous question. Nonetheless, still an easy question to answer. "If he were to demote me for a joke that I made, then I would ask him why. Is my humour disrespectful in any kind of way to him/her or any other family member? Again, if he doesn't know me, why the Hell would promote me to Right Hand Man? That would be really stupid on his part." Reason decided that he wouldn't trust his crew leader in this situation. Not because of the demotion, but because he would make such terrible decisions as to promoting someone to a high post without knowing them. If you kiss the hand of a Godfather, asking for a favor he knows one day will be repayed with much profit, do you just apreciate the fact that he laughed at your face before? Reason thought on this question and instead of chuckling like on the second one, he started to laugh out loud. Another question about appreciation when this doesn't really fit with the question? This was such an easy question to answer, considering the idiocy behind it. Reason would never appreciate it if someone laughed at his face. Whether it be a Godfather or a lonely farmer, appreciation isn't really something you would feel when someone is trying to make a fool out of you. Next question. Do you apreciate when you are shown some trust and respect by people you didn't know before, even after having a dubious past? Reason thought that part of this question is kind of ignorant once more. Why is he always asking about appreciation when the answer is so fucking obvious? Of course he would appreciate someone showing him respect. Whether it be your best friend, your family member or again, that lonely fucking farmer down the road who makes a shit living. What does the dubious past have to do with anything? That part is irrelevant. Are you ready to risk some lifes, ranks, and money to show you care about people? Reason was more peaked with interest in this question than the others before. This one was a question that actually made perfect sense. He thought long and hard on this question. "See, in this thing of ours, if you cared about some people or even just one person, money wouldn't be a problem. In the Mafia world, money comes by really fast. Risking ranks I'm guessing means getting demoted for doing something for that person? If it is, than risking lives falls into this category, too. Depending on who this person is though. If this person was Godfather Archy or Don Utopia, I would have killed whomever necessary to help them no matter the cost. For some others, well, it always depends." Do our pasts teach us something? At least how people around us are? Does our ancestry make some bonds?" Reason read this question on his notes and thought it was a good one too. One of the answers was pretty obvious. Of course the past teaches us something. If it doesn't, then that means you're dead. Now, the two other parts to the question are different. Reason thought that depending on your past, it can affect others. Say I robbed a bank which I did, it'll affect some people and some others won't be affected. The accountant there can and probably will be and my cousin, no. Ancestry can make bonds, of course. It can also destroy reputations and make the status quo stay the same. If my forefather rogued, which they did not, then that can destroy some bonds with people. My father, Honesty, created bonds that would help me, his son. My father's great grandfather wouldn't change shit because his life meant exactly that; shit. Can we all pardon some errors from the past? Reason was glad that this last question would be easy to answer. However, he wasn't glad that it was another idiotic one. Of course everybody in the world can forgive some of their errors. If you asked if someone can forgive all of their errors, then that is a completely different story. Reason drank the last of his water in the cup he had and crumpled the note and threw it on the ground. He had no use for it anymore. Only two of these questions were interesting enough and one more so. The rest, well the rest Reason didn't want to ponder on it again. |

Ive always thought a relationship between you and your leader is a lot like a friendship. Its a two way street, sure a leader can demand respect but real respect with always be earned. I think people who earn respect of demanding it will always find themselves with the stronger families. The thing is, is that there is usually a fair amount of competition out there and people do not HAVE to work for a specific leader. People will always make mistakes we are only human so I think it is okay to forgive and forget unless it is a re occurring thing. The world just is not big enough to be pissed off at everyone. And yes, I trust my leader otherwise I would not be here! Seph smiles and nods... Just my two cents thank you for listening. |
