The Way of the Sword. Part 1. Started by: AfroSamurai on Jul 13, '09 07:31

As you're walking down the street, you see a man with a giant afro who is dressed as a Samurai. He is climbing onto his soapbox, which he does gracefully and with ease. Intrigued, you walk over to see what he is talking about..

Hello America. I come before you today to tell my tale, the tale of how I came to arrive at these shores. I suppose it is my history, and how I came to be who I am today. Now I will begin...

Japan was in turmoil. Two clans were fighting it out for total control of the region. At the time I was personal guard to the vice-governor of one of the clans. His name was Oda Kazusanosuke Nobunaga.

It was during the middle of the night, that it happened. I slept in the room next to Oda, so that I was close by in case of emergencies. I was laying under my covers, thinking about the previous days events and how well I had done in battle, when all of a sudden a great crashing filled the air. A whooshing noise echoed through the halls as I realised that hundreds upon hundreds of arrows filled the room next to me. I got up and rushed to see how Oda was, I was fully battle-ready as always. By the time I had reached the door it was too late, Oda was full of arrows and after looking out of the building, the assailants had already gone.

The next day I received word that the leader of the clan had also been assassinated that same night.

With my lord dead, and no clan left I had gone ronin.. for those that don't know that means a sort of wanderer, a samurai whose lord had died. For a few years I wandered Japan, battling where it needed to be done but never finding an opponent worthy enough to defeat me.

After arriving in a Japanese port town, I decided that I would travel overseas. I didn't care where, I just needed somewhere different. Somewhere I could find myself a Lord worthy of my protection.

I did some research, dug information from peoples heads. Sometimes literally. I decided that the best place to find someone worthy was more like to be the place with the most people. So, I stowed away with the first boat that left for America that I could find.

It was a long rough journey there, and I had no idea what to expect once I reached this land.

Afro chuckles

My afro is a secret to all, but those who never intend to ask.

Visali - the only problem I have with that is that I don't in fact speak Indian, however English is my second language.

The second part of my tale is coming soon.. Keep an eye on your nearest street corner and you might just spot me..

Afro smiles at the crowd, and wanders away
