| Where I got my start | Started by: Telkin on Jul 13, '09 17:05 |

Telkin was walking along the road when all of a sudden he decided to make a speech. He'd recently been thinking about how he got into the mob, and what at what moment in his life he decided to throw away the rules of society. He had been thinking it was something to do with the people who greeted him when he first stepped onto the shore of the harbor in New York City. Shaking his head he got up onto a soapbox and began to tell a tale of his home life... the life he left long ago to come to America. It all started with his friend named James. James was a cocky son-of-a-bitch, and was always getting into trouble. Usually it was just little things like stealing the farmers eggs, or putting holes in peoples tires down at the casino. Once and awhile Telkin and James would start fights with people. What was life if you couldn't have a little bit of risk? One day Telkin and James unknowingly started a fight with the local Don's eldest son. In a matter of seconds the son had Telkin and James tied together and in the back seat of a car, headed towards the Don's house. The son proceeded to explain to his father what happened. Pulling out a cigar and lighting it, the father nodded and listened. "So, you think you can just go running around MY city, causing all sorts of trouble do ya?" Swallowing hard, Telkin and James look at the floor and hope like hell they'd make it out alive. Looking up, Telkin realized that the Don is smirking. "I like that, you've got balls." Shutting the blinds and closing the door, the Don proposed a plan. "How about this boys, I want you to steal me ten thousand dollars in the next week. If you can do that, then you're welcome to join our mafia family." Not believing their luck, Telkin and James go on a pickpocketing splurge. Tens of thousands of dollars they stole, hiding it all in one spot. A few days later their deadline passes, and the Don holds a meeting with the two of them, and some of the families most trusted members. "Well gentlemen, I trust you've met my quota?" Nodding, you each hand him ten thousand dollars. He looks at it and has one of the members count it. "This is twice the amount I asked for... Do either of you know how to count?" Grinning Telkin and James explain that their loyalty knows no ends, and that they were more than happy to give extra money to someone willing to give them protection. Handing them each a cigar, the Don shows them to their rooms. "We'll take care of you here, welcome to the mafia." Over the course of the next few months, James and Telkin pulled off many jobs for the Don. Some of the times they were paired together, like the legendary pull of the Pearly Whites[OOC: Story to come later.] Other times, they went their separate ways. James was more of a brute force, demolish anything in the way sort of mobster. Telkin was the sly, discreet, and mysterious one. You could never tell what his next move was going to be. One day, close to Christmas, the Don called Telkin into his office. Walking in, the Don was rubbing his temples in a circular pattern, clearly frustrated. Taking a seat, he begins to speak "Telkin, you've been loyal to me these past months... I'd like to honor you with something... but first, I'm going to need you do something... I need you to kill James... Now I've told him the same thing, he must kill you. I need to know just how loyal you two are..." Telkin closed his eyes and began to breath deep. His boss was asking him to kill his best friend, and his best friend had been instructed to do the same... Why couldn't they have just led an honest life? Nodding to the Don Telkin walks out without saying a word... It was now or never. Meeting up with James a few days later, Telkin cleverly tricked him into getting into the back seat of a car, where little did he know, there was a bomb waiting to go off the instant Telkin hit the button. Running as fast and as far away as he could, Telkin hit the button and heard the car explode. Tears rolling out of his eyes, yelling in frustration Telkin fell to the ground and began to weep. What had he done?? Looking up he sees a pair of shoes, the Don's shoes. Wiping his eyes he stands up and looks into the Don's eyes. "It's done sir, he's dead." The Don shakes your hand and gives you something shiny. Looking down you realize it's a button... A button symbolizing the mark of a Made Man. "Th-th-thank you sir," Telkin stuttered while pinning it on. Even though it wasn't America, Made Men were respected world-wide. Looking off into the sunset, beginning to lose focus, Telkin hears the Don speak. "I'm arranging for your flight to New York City soon. My cousin Don Deimne works there as a mob boss under the great ThomasRourke. Show him the button I just gave you, he'll take you in." Anxiously boarding the flight, Telkin pins the button back onto his shirt after passing it through the metal detector. Not sleeping the entire way, Telkin steps off the plane, legs numb, and makes his way into the city. Handing the taxi driver a hundred dollar bill, telling him to keep the change, Telkin walks around the city, looking for members of the mafia to contact. All of a sudden he sees a shady group of people gathered within the confines of a small coffee shop. There was no doubt about it, these were Deimne's men. The emblem on their shirts was almost identical to the one upon his. Walking up to them, he throws down the Made Man button on the table and nods to what appeared to be the leader. "Don Deimne? Your relative from Ireland, the one who's part of the mob... He sent me to you, and told me to show you this button." Deimne smiled and shook Telkins hand. "Aye, I've heard many stories about you. Apparently your wit and cunning has no end... I hear you killed your life-long best friend, just because your boss told you to... Now that's loyalty. If you're still interested in the mob after what you had to do... you're more than welcome to stick around with us... If not we understand, and wish you the best of luck." Smiling and taking a seat, Telkin shakes his hand and replies "I'd love to become a New York mobster... Sir." Looking up, Telkin realizes that people had gathered and were listening to his story about how he got into this thing of ours. Smiling and stepping down from the soap box, Telkin sighs. It felt like only yesterday him and James were innocent little kids, throwing rocks at the birds. |

Lana makes her way though the crowd and accidentaly bumps into whatever his name is, sending him sprawling on the sidewalk. Ooops, she thinks, as she helps him back up. Sorry, I'm such a cluts. She turns to Telkin...Very nice story, thank you for sharing that. She turns back to whatever his name is and brushes off the dirt off his jacket. Get it cleaned and send me the bill. |

Lana was leaning against the wall smoking a cigarette and daydreaming about her man, Toto-Riina. She was brought back to reality by that fool she knocked over before. She walked to megadesnuts and looked at him up and down, not very impressed by what she saw. You see this? She turns sideways and slaps her hip...it's all muscle my friend. Now, I've noticed that you have been trying to get my attention for some time now, and I understand, Toto has a hard time resisting this little black dress also. But sadly, I am taken. My man is a very gorgeous, violent killer that comes from one of the best families in Philly. All the spare time I have is with him, so I none left for a broke, homeless, uninterresting and probably impotant fool like yourself. Enjoy this moment, because it will be the one you will have with me. She took her wallet from her purse and threw a twenty dollar bill at his feet...That's for the dry cleaning! |

Telkin nods and thanks everyone who appreciated the time and effort it to recall this story. It had been buried in the back of his mind for so long, it actually took effort to come out and present it. Lighting up a cigar, he walks up to Mega and spits on his shoe. "You sir, are a disgrace." |
