I'm just going to cut to the chase, I feel strongly that there should be a 24hr waiting period for new players to bet on Harty's, (or any restriction that forces them to be atleast gangster. Why you may ask, well it's simple why should some player who may not ever return and play again be able to run off with my money like a thief in the night, like what is that crap.

Example :

 This civilian just happened to win the 4th biggest pot as of yet, not even being a day old or in a crew. They then have obviously sent there money off to someone before logging off themselves. So I ask again, how is it fair that some civilian appears, just happens to win 11million and then disappears just under 2hrs later without a trace of the cash. It just seems obvious there needs to be some changes made to avoid this from happening again.

An obvious and easy fix to this problem would be stop gambling.

If you don't want the risk of losing money to someone then don't give them the opportunity to take it.

I completely understand there's an obvious risk but what I'm trying to get at is why should someone who can't pickpocket or shoot be able to participate in the big boy activities like a Harty, a gangster requirement really isn't asking for much. It just makes the player have to stick around for longer then a day before they can gamble in it. If a player isn't going to stick with the game chances are they won't make it to gangster and if they do it's during their inactivity.

thats just dumb TBH, who cares who can gamble? everyone has a block they can use if they feel the gambling is unfair

anyone should have full access to gambling if they so choose, the reason for this is it helps the cash find a way out of the game

The fact that your justification is rooted in classifying harties as "big boy activities" inclines me to disagree with your suggestion. Pickpockets are an attack, and civilians are immune to them. That is why they cannot PP. Shooting, as well, is something they they are protected from and therefore cannot engage in the activities.

Unless you're contending that he can't lose the harty because he's not a gangster yet, your comparison to shooting and picking pockets has no parallels to your suggestion.

Well Cypher just like myself and everyone else you're entitled to your opinion. Also I'm speaking strictly on Harty's not gambling period.

Well your assumption there is wrong seeing how it was only 1 new character and no one's saying jack all about win streaks except for yourself.  Maybe if you had actually read the above you'd see that I'm merely stating my opinion, that I don't see it ok that someone can win a pot yet not even be a criminal. That's like someone going on IRC and beating you to a free credit but instead transferring it to another account and ending their life.

Simple, they can do crimes, drug deals, and jails until they got their one day chip... What did you do your first day Cypher, stand around with your dick in hand?

Orsik you do have a valid point that this isn't an attack like the other two, so why classify them together. Well for starters it's because at gangster you live and die by the sword. You can get it simply after 1 day by just being active which was my point, why should they sneak in like a thief in the night and make off with the money before their even associated with this thing of ours or even plan on being active/continue playing. What if he just stopped playing right after winning. 7 days goes by and he's a target for a shot because he has no crew, there goes all that money he just won and no one gets it.

It's clearly a lost cause at this point but I had to voice my opinion/suggestion be it right or wrong, which is what these forums are for...
