"Yeah, that's good. How much?"

"Three hundred grand sounds right to me."

"Sure does. If you'll send the letter..."

"On my way to do that now."

Kizzy smiled across the small table as she held up a stamped and sealed envelope. Sidious nodded and scribbled something onto a piece of paper in front of him. After stretching briefly, the woman downed the last bit of her coffee and threw a tip onto the table.

"Well, let me go take care of that and a few other things. I'll see you later, okay?"

Her boss nodded to her, waving as Kizzy got up and made her way out of the coffee shop and into the streets. A few blocks down, she slipped the letter into the mailbox before pausing, leaning against the warm metal of the box. When she thought about it, it was kind of amazing how easy that conversation went. The man she had just been sitting across from virtually owned the entire city around her.

A brief scream and the sound of shattering glass behind her quickly interrupted her thoughts. She ducked and glanced over to see one of her associates crawling out of the window to the post office beside her. The young man doffed his cap to her before hurrying off. He bumped into a policeman, who stared after him for a bit before beginning to count the wad of bills in his hand. As the cop walked sedately into the post office to begin the investigation that at this point was a mere formality, Kizzy shook her head. No, no. Sidious did own this city.

Kizzy moved away from the scene, not wanting to be roped in as a cursory witness. As she rounded the corner, her thoughts returned to the strangely easy relationship she had with such a powerful man. Of course, her own credentials weren't too shabby. She waved to a cab, which pulled over immediately.

After stepping in and telling the cabbie the address she was headed to, Kizzy leaned back into the plush cushion behind her. But there was something else that made it so easy to work with Sidious. They got along just great for one thing--almost psychic sometimes. And they always worked together to solve problems or organize things around the city, HQ, or wherever, and almost always consulted each other before making any big decisions. But that was normal relationship for a crewleader and their Right Hand...right? She thought of one of her friends, also a right hand, talking about how he did pretty much all of his boss's dirty work. Not that he minded--considered it to be an honor, a sort of hands-on way of serving his leader. While she couldn't say she did all of Sidious's work, she certainly did at least her fair share of it. But she considered it more of her duty--part of the package of being a Right Hand--and while she wouldn't dream of complaining of it, she wouldn't consider some of the headache that accompanied it to be an honor.

Kizzy absently pulled out a compact and checked her makeup. What, she wondered, is it like between other Right Hands and their CLs? The cab suddenly screeched to a stop, accompanied by the driver's thick Polish accent screaming down the street. Peering out the window, Kizzy sighed to see the traffic stretching far too long away. She shoved a ten into the driver's greasy palm before hopping out--it was far too much, but she had been consumed by an idea.

Kizzy walked to the greengrocer's on the corner and wheedled a wooden crate out of the shopowner. She placed it carefully onto the sidewalk and stepped up onto it, clearing her throat. She called out to the crowd of mobsters already beginning to gather at the sight of someone standing on a crate.

"I've been thinking--wondering, perhaps, would describe it more. I'd like to know what not only crewleaders and their Right Hands think, but also what the average mafioso thinks about a CL-RH relationship.

"What, if anything, is the key to a good relationship between a crewleader and their RHM?

"How do you CLs and RHs out there describe your relationship with one another?

"How well do you work together, and, more importantly, how do you work together? Do you split shared duties into categories, down the middle, or shunt it all onto one person or the other?

"Are any of these methods bad, or is it more of a 'to each his/her own' sort of thing?

"How important is it for your personality to 'click' with that of your RH or CL?"

Kizzy paused and smiled to the crowd expectantly.

"I think that's all the questions I have for now--I'd be pleased as peaches to hear your answers."

Gizaro appears in Chicago and floats over to the base of the wooden crate and speaks to Kizzy and the crowd,

Well, Kizzy, for me and Sammy there are alot of different factors involved. First there is trust. You have to trust that the other person is going to do the right things and speak correctly for you when conducting business when your not around. Second, a friendship bond is usually developed, be it personal or professional, you conduct so many activities together it is hard not to become attached to each other. After all we are family and must treat each other as so. Sammy and I have a great relationship and either of us would do anything for each other as probably all Bosses and RHM's would. For duties we usually split things, but sometimes shit rolls down hill if you know what I mean. I ask him to take care of things and he does. Vice-versa if he needs something done I make sure it happens right away if the request is possible. I also think there is another component here and that is, I have an open door policy for suggestions. Sammy and other family members come up with alot of great ideas and I am open to hear all of them and then decide which I or he should implement. One thing that is growing pains is making sure each of us communnicates appropriately and in a timely manner to the other when mobmails or other business has been sent. Sometimes we have been redundant and sent the same things, so I think that needs more work but communication is the key here. I am not sure if you have to have your "personalities click" as you stated but it is nice when they do. I believe you also have a responsibilty to teach and mentor each other to strengthen not only each other but your family as a whole unit.

Gizaro thanks Kizzy for the moment at the podium and dismisses himself in the next big gust out of Chicago

Walking down Main Street after grabbing herself a bag of sweets from the local bakery, Marietta just so happens to walk by a gathered crowd, hanging on every word that a woman's voice was calling out. Turning her head slightly, an eclair halfway to her lips, the woman spied Kizzy, a well known Right Hand to a syndicate out of Chicago.

Popping the treat into her mouth, Marietta dusted her hands off on her skirt quickly before joining the crowd, listening to the questions that were being posed by the woman on the wooden crate. Nodding along, and seeing that not many people had any insight on such an insightful subject, the Godmother cleared her throat of extra bread crumbs before smiling and raising her hand.

"Yes, hello there. I cannot believe more people are not speaking up on such a delightful subject. Anyway, thank you for bringing up this topic, Miss. I'm going to have fun with this, that's for sure!"

Marietta paused for a moment in thought, asking herself each question individually before answering.

"The key to a good relationship between a Crewleader and a Right Hand, hmm? I'm sure many people would list the normal attributes, like 'trust', or 'loyalty'. Maybe even 'sexual desire'. Who knows. What really makes a good duo, though, is complete one hundred percent utter faith. Faith that this person will do their best every day, and faith that when you falter, you'll have someone behind you one hundred percent to back you up. See, a crew leader is the leader of the crew, but a Right Hand man is, for all intents and purposes, the very same position... just without all the glory in most (sad) cases. Often I'll think of a CL/RH relationship as parenting; you have to have a team mate that will help you keep the 'household' in order, and sure, while trust and loyalty often are weaved into such a thing, it is faith that keeps people going day after day. Trust and loyalty can't keep you warm at night, ladies and gentlemen, but the love that comes along with faith... now that can."

Marietta shrugs and smiles once more before continuing.

"I consider my relationship with my own Right Hand, Rourke, to be much like that. We are a team that run not only a small family, but an entire city together. I have faith that he won't screw things up too badly in my absence, just the way that he has faith in me not to flip out and kill everyone in his absence. We have a good give and take. Work is divided up evenly when we have it. I help him, he helps me. We are honest with one another, open with one another, and furthermore I think we're willing to do just about anything it takes to make our family and city to stay afloat and succeed. It's that drive that brings us closer together, and enables us to work together more efficiently."

"Often times you will hear about leaders who pick Right Hands who are their polar opposites, so that they can cover the work that they themselves do not favor. Often you'll hear about leaders who pick Right Hands based off of whom their mother or father was to their bloodline in a previous life. I picked Rourke based off the fact that I think we are very similar to one another. Sure, we have our differences (but that's what makes us unique!), but for the most part our brains are wired for the same type of thinking. More often than not, when one of us is thinking of something, the other one was just about to bring it up in a meeting. I suppose that goes along with 'personalities' clicking. Which is a very important thing. Why would you trust your business and life with someone who you spend more time arguing with than getting things done? That's just how things work."

"Being a CL/RH duo is most definitely a 'to each their own' sort of a thing. What works for the goose most likely won't work for the gander, or so they say. It would be nice to see if anyone else has anything else to add to this conversation, though. I've done a lot of talking, but that's only..."

Marietta glances over at Gizaro.

"Two opinions out of many? We can do better than that. Once more, thank you Miss Kizzy, for this speech."
