It had been around 5 years since I joined the family. It was the day before my 21st birthday and I had been sent to help Riddle and Violet on a job, I have been working with them both since I was 16 when Riddle first took my the HQ after I failed to mug him. At first I was confused why Riddle took me there after I tried to mug him, turned out he was working with my father on the job that got him killed so now Riddle was looking after me. Riddle has been promoted to Boss and Violet to Capo, I was the family's new wise guy.

The 3 of us were in the car heading to the meeting point, I was driving with Riddle in the passenger seat and Violet in the back. The Dons RHM Ceelo told us to head to the docks to meet up with a couple of made men from Miami, it was a simple deal we were to give them the coke and they give us the money, like I said a simple job but I learned months ago nothing was simple in this thing of ours. I pulled opposite of where the meeting was taking place, Violet got out of the back with the briefcase of drugs and waited for Riddle who was loading his guns

"You wait in the car and try stay out of sight" he told me.

I nodded and turned on the radio while I watched as they headed to the meeting. They began talking as two cars pulled up on the street behind Riddle and Violet. I loaded my .45 and put it in the back of my trousers and covered it up with my jacket then got out the car. I lit up a cigarette while sitting on the bonnet of the car keeping an eye on the two new cars waiting for anyone to get out. Few more minutes passed and Riddle shook hands with one of the made men and Violet picked up the briefcase of money. As Riddle and Violet walked back to me two men got out of each car and pulled out some pistols, I pulled out my .45 and began to walk towards the new gangsters when suddenly two of them opened fire at me I quickly ran back and jumped over the car bonnet using it for cover before they could realise what happened Riddle and Violet were shot at. Riddle took two shots to the chest and one to the knee, he fell to the ground and I heard him scream and swear, Violet quickly took out two of the gangsters before they could aim at her. I waited for the last two to reload then ran out from cover and shot both of them in the head. I ran over to Riddle who was bleeding badly.

"Mate look at me your going to be ok." I said to him trying to stop the bleeding."Violet help me get him to the car"

We picked him up and put him in the back seat, Violet got in and sat next to him. I then realised we had forgotten the money

"Fuck the money wait here." I told her.

When I got to where we left the money there was a man with his back to me holding the brief case.

"Who the fuck are you?" I yelled.

The minute he turned round I knew who it was, Jack the guy who left me to be killed by Riddle when I mugged him. Me and Jack were in a gang together before I joined the family I hadn't seen him since the night of the mugging, I heard the gang had be broken up after the cops busted the HQ, Jack must of escaped and started again.

"You son of a bitch!!" I said in anger "You left me to die you fat fuck, I thought we were friends!"

I went to grab him when he pulled out a pistol and held it at me, finger on the trigger.

"I am sorry Soniix but I weren't going to die to save you, I got to look after my self. Thats why im taking this money or im going to be seeing your name in the obits tomorrow morning, sorry about your friend its only business."

I felt the anger build up inside me as Jack got in the car a drove away. I ran back to the car and drove Riddle to the hospital, over a hour went by and Violet went back to the HQ to tell Ceelo what happened while I waited for the doctor to tell me how Riddle was. While waiting I went to get some coffee on the way back Don Hydro entered followed by Ceelo and Khujo. I had only met the Don a few times but she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. She stood in front of me while I kissed her ring.

"Don Hydro im sorry I fucked up and let them get away with the money."

"Don't worry kid, you did good you kept your cool when everything was fucking up around you." She said trying to calm me down. "Go home get some rest Khujo will stay here and look after Riddle Ceelo will come see you in the morning, I have to go see the Godmother and explain what happened shes not happy." I nodded and headed home.

I woke up to a knock on my door early in the morning, I put on some pants and opened the door, Ceelo walked into my flat followed by two bodyguards.

"How you feeling kid?"He asked me.

"Good I guess hows Riddle?" I replied.

"Hes doing better Khujo called me earlier the doctors got the bullet out." He cleared his throat and nodded to his bodyguard to shut the door. "We found out where your friend is hiding." He handed me a bit of paper with a address on.

"When your ready head down there, Esham is waiting in a cafe opposite to help teach this gangster wannabe cunt not to fuck with the family."

I jumped in the shower then got dressed and headed to the cafe to meet Esham.

"Its about time." Esham said when I arrived at the cafe. "You ready?"

"Yeah lets go, ill deal with Jack you find the money."

We entered the building and walked up to Jacks flat. I kicked opened the door and quickly rushed in, seeing Jack sitting on his couch with the money on his table. I grabbed hold of him and dragged him to the balcony hanging him over the edge he began to scream to be let up. I pulled him up and pushed him back into the flat, he fell on to his hands a knees crying. Esham began to put the money back in the briefcase I pulled out a .45 and aimed it to his head.

"Please Soniix don't we were friends, we had some good times together." He begged for life. At that moment I knew in this job I couldn't afford to have mercy for anyone.

"I don't have friends Jack, only family." I pulled the trigger and saw his brains go all over the floor.

"Come on Ceelo told me to take you to HQ after we finished." Esham said holding the case.

I wondered what was going to happen to me back at HQ but I decided to go. We arrived at HQ and Esham give me the case to give to Ceelo. I was told he would be in the Dons office, I knocked on the door and after been told to go in I saw Hydro sitting in her chair with Ceelo to the right and Khujo to the left, Khujo walked up to me and took the case then stood back next to Hydro.

"In the six years you have been with us you have done alot of jobs for us and made alot of money." Hydro stood up and looked out the window then continued to talk "You are completely loyal to me and the family and you don't find that kind of loyalty in times like these. I want you to join us properly and become one of our made men, Riddle is going to be out for a while and were going to need you. Now go enjoy your self its your birthday have a good time."

I nodded and smiled, I left the office and went to meet the rest of the family at the bar. 21 years old and a made man making money for the family things were looking good.
