Well if that is the reason behind a letter that a mafioso sends you than yes by all means take offense to it..  If you receive some mail and it is to you obscene and unwarranted than return to sender followed by a bullet.  But that's your decision, to me whatever crumple up the mail and burn it and any further mail sent just delete plain and simple ain't no hair off my back.

Forgive me for entering this street discussion so late in the game, ESPECIALLY after it seems as if things have turned wild and crazy since the original point was made. I feel there are a few things that need to be clarified here and I'm happy to take the time to do so.

Allow me to set the facts straight. You are not a leader. You do not wear a bold suit walking around this fair world. You are clearly allowed to throw your opinions out as you see fit, but it's an insult to the other leaders that you claim to share equal weight with them.

Well Rourke, Shottakaz is a leader, in terms of talking to Silent, because he was her superior and a leading role in her family.  So in all actuality, he could have spoke to Silent any way he wanted to.

He could have told her, "you piece of shit, bottom of the bucket, fuck wod are in no position to question my actions as a leader!"

That would have been a better choice of words I think, but Shotta is a better man than me and wouldn't use such language.

On the other hand, if he were talking to another member of another family, we might have had a problem.

And about the unwarranted advances part, those were reported to the leader of that person and they were dealt with promptly, as any leader would do. I would agree that is the best way to handle that situation.

So basically this discussion is over, to be honest. No need of continuing this small talk about a dead thug.

Seriously, I think it depends on each situation individually.

Just a quick note before anyone jumps down my throat: I didn't read this thread, only the first 3 posts. Again, it's 4am and i'm tired.

Shottakaz or however it's spelled (again, tired, no disrespect) if someone has sent you a sexually explicit mobmail let one of the admin know. If it was unwarranted, then actions can be taken--initially it will probabley just lead to a request of that person to stop contacting you, but if that person happens to be a repeat offender I myself would admin wack them.

This game is a community, and as such we all need to do our part to keep it as fun as possible. If your actions are making other players uncomfortable in a real life sort of way, then those actions should be altered. Also keep in mind people that this is an all-ages game. Unless you know the person whom you are contacting, try considering the fact that that person may be in their young teens, and probably shouldn't be RPing sex with you.

Too right, it's against game rules. Not mob rules. When CL's preside over a group of murdering, thieving, blackmailing and extoring scum; I hardly think they'd be killing their men over sexual harrassment. For players to get involved in this is ridiculous; it is the issue of assistants to dea with issues which contravene the game rules.

I have no problem with the idea, and think it should be enforced.

That's the thing though- it is enforced by the admins.

We as Bosses can shoot an offender, sure, but then what happens?  They come back on a thug account and continue to sexually harass people?  Without the fear of being killed?  Now that doesn't seem like a good punishment, does it?

Whereas the admins, if it is reported to them, can not only admin wack people, but ban them if the problem persists.  We're already taking care of these offenders... people just aren't going through the proper channels, it seems.

(At least, that's what it seems like to me.  Or that was the point of the entire speech.  I could be wrong.)

Sexual harassment is certainly something that is largely within the realm of the administrators. However, I disagree with your statement that "For players to get involved in this is ridiculous". If I have a Goomba in my family named HornyMcHorndog and he's mailing women in my family and others with illuminating statements like "Yo girl! Jump on mah dick!" and "Imma run a train on you, bitch!", it's certainly appropriate for me to respond rather than go to an admin. I'm not going to shoot him and say "Oh know! You've violated Section B of the Sexual Harassament Policy :(". I'm going to take care of it because he's bad for business. This seems to be the sort of situation that shottakaz might be referring to.

Depends how you define bad for business Kates. Whenever I'm a Leader, business is money; because money equals power. If someone came to me about a top earner of mine sexually harrassing them (rather than going to admins) I'd probably shoot the person who raised the complaint, because in an RP sense - shooting a mobster for being lewd might sometimes be shooting yourself in the foot.

So if you look at it an RP sense, Im not going to shoot my guy who's rude or abusive unless the negatives of him being alive outweigh the positives. However, this is a game and a community and in certain instances that must take precedence; certain instances which are outlined by the game rules.

I suppose that the decision would have to be made by the CL- which is kind of my point. While money is certainly important, it's not everything. If I have $100 million but my crew is a bunch of tards running around, spouting idiot statements, and yelling about boobies... then I would consider myself an overall failure.

Now, I'm not saying I'm going to be shooting one of my Made Men for grabbing a waitress's ass and propositioning her. Hell, Kates has probably grabbed more ass than the rest of her family put together. But there is a way to carry yourself with honor and a way to carry yourself like an idiot- if anyone crosses that line, in character, with sexual harassment, then a player response is not ridiculous.
