The Jungle introduces New York Shooting Tax Started by: ScipitaRourke on Aug 05, '09 16:55

ScipitaRourke stepped from her car, examining the streets around her. She was still wearing her summer suit from her last trip to Detroit, and was pleased to see others in the crowd wearing the same. She stepped up and took a position where everyone could see and waved her arms for attention.

"Everyone! I have a message from New York on behalf of ThomasRourke. Gather around, listen up and tell all your friends who aren't here today!"

When the crowd has assembled she cleared her throat and continued.

"Most of you are familiar with the concept of the Death Tax... In New York, we've done our best to take care of bodies and ensure they find an appropriate resting place, we've done this out of the goodness of our hearts despite a great cost to ourselves. However, times are tough in this country and as such, ThomasRourke has decreed a new Death Tax be levied in New York City."

"Now, I'm sure some of you are concerned, but you shouldn't be! This has worked before and will work again. Others are asking, is this the exact same as Detroit? The answer to that question is no."

Scipita pauses for a moment to insure there are no other obvious questions, then continues, "Let me give you the details of the New York system."

"First, if you are a Godfather or a member of a Godfather's crew, you are free to operate in New York at leisure. No tax is required of you."

"Next, for those of you who are crewleaders, we have a huge discount deal available to you for your families. For a fee of $15,000 per crewmember, you buy full access for your entire crew for the coming week. This runs Monday to Monday, meaning a purchase anytime on Monday will run through 2359 the next Sunday. This one time fee during the week will also cover any new crewmembers, whether they be entirely new, or sons/daughters of fallen crew members."

"Finally, for those of you who want to pay your own way or whose crewleaders have no interest in working New York, we do have a way for you to pay an individual tax. This is a flat rate of $100,000 with the same Monday to Monday terms as described above."

Scipita watches the crowd and notices a dozen people with their checkbooks out and writing checks to ThomasRourke, "One moment, please, before you write any checks."

"There is one more change you should all be aware of. In New York, we are big fans of spreading paperwork around the families so we can all keep the rest of our business ventures going. As such, we've divided responsibility for this amongst the New York Captains of ThomasRourke. If you are ready to make out your check, here is the list of which New York Family will be processing your various payments. Individuals paying should go to the family who is dealing with your crew leader"

"Deimne will handle dealings with the following families: Sidious, Return_of_Ghost, SkullCandy, WilliamDeSantis, LilWayne_"
"JamaicanMob_Marley will handling dealings with these familes: RjFuller, Rhuarc, Judge_Holden, gizaro"
"TM will handle dealings with these families: KingBenny, PedroRourke, Sherlock, Tie"
"And finally, I'll be handling dealings for: Kates, MrFCUK, Paul_Walker"

"We reserve the right to alter these divisions as new families appear and old families grow."

"That's it!" She said as she started to return to her car, then suddenly spoke up again, "Ohh, one last thing. This IS the rule of the Godfather and will be followed at all times while in the city of New York. This rule will be enforced with a punishment of Death. No discussion on this point." With that last addition, she'd give a smile to the crowd and return to her car.

Report Post Tip

Kindly note that this tax will be in place starting monday the 10th of August. The New York captains will have approached their assigned families by then and administration should be handled before Sunday 16:00. Do feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Miss Rourke, I do have one question.  This is a per family MEMBER tax, or per HITTER tax?  That's the only thing I wish to have clarification for.

Other than that, it's great to see New York working together and coming up with a system that benefits all of it's fine families.

Report Post Tip

I have no questions but would like to comment that this has been made so much more affordable for the single family member to do on their own versus asking the crewleader to pay for an entire crew - some of whom have yet to earn "their bullets" so to speak. Thank you for that Godfather Rourke and New York

Report Post Tip

Godmother Marietta, this will go for the entire family not just their hitters. For example if a crew has 30 members they'll pay 30 x 15,000 = 450000. Or the hitters can pay by themselves for 100,000 per person. This is completely free of choice.

Alright, thank you for taking the time to clarify!

Report Post Tip

My pleasure entirely, it's in everyones interest this is as clear as possible. Every family, except for the Godfather families, will be approach soon by us in person so we can discuss details.

Report Post Tip

A quick reminder to all concerned that the "New York Shooting Tax" comes into place from Aug 10 at 00:00 (midnight tonight MR time).

Anyone who wishes to use their gun in New York should be 100% sure that they have the required permission to do so before even thinking of raising that gun.

Should anyone have any remaining queries on the tax, the relevant NY contacts are always delighted to assist.

Report Post Tip

Ahh yes, We are bringing back the taxes. I am glad. Great way to get money moving faster.

Report Post Tip

Bringing back? There still are taxes. Why Marietta has shooting taxes in Detroit costing 420,000 a week per person or 2,000,000 a family and Odd has his tolls which I believe 5,000 a night scheduled ahead of time or 100,000 if on same time. All kinds of taxes.... and I'm reaping none of the benefits.

Asylum cries a little and bucks up.

Well, I guess I have to learn to kill someday.

Report Post Tip

I like to see such taxes happening! The Detroit Tax, The New York Tax, and the Philly Tax.

Can't wait to see more!

Jax opens his wallet

"Time to pay up, again."

Report Post Tip

Thanks for clarifying this for us ma'am.
