Part of the appeal of blackjack was the "high stakes" element of it. When the bets go up, I might give it a go. |

Yea. High stakes. But it's destroyed the casino economy. So you'll deal with low bets or no bets. Either or is up to you. |

Blackjack has always been a money maker for the house, seeing as the average citizen doesn't know the ins and outs of the system. When you roll user owned casinos out to the public, will they be able to raise the maximum bet? |

Swayzak, I'm the coder in charge of casinos... I have the data at my finger tips.... Since when has blackjack been a money maker for the house? Blackjack consistently has over a thousand dollar player profit margin PER HAND. =========Aug-06-09 02:10:01============ BLACKJACK PAYOUT: 85500 BLACKJACK PLAYS: 71 BLACKJACK AVERAGE PAYOUT: 1204.2254 ======================================= That's the current stats for blackjack. To answer your other question, yes, the casino owners will be able to scale blackjack's bets as much as they want. Currently though I'm finding the base amounts. I'm also trying to find the right balance between blackjack/slots/roulette bets so casinos can actually make money while blackjack is on their gaming roster. |

Well, until then I'll quietly wait for them to be released. I express my gratitude for the work you've been putting in to fix the irregularities for the casinos. |

Sorry if I get short tempered. Not trying to sound like an ass. The casino's are just gratting my last nerve. |

Casinos, the way for a mobster to go from Godfatherly wealth to Gangsterly wealth. Anubis, I don't think I could do your job, I am not that patient. |

Just a thought - considering this is the mob and almost all 1920-1930's era casinos were underground; shouldn't there be the possibility for Crewleader's to rig the games? |

Sorry I should clarify. For something like slots, the machines were very simple and it would be easy to simply alter the % chance of a payout by fucking around with the reels (I suppose), so this should be an option afforded to CL's (or casino owners). For Roulette Blackjack and Craps, it would be a lot more obvious when blatant cheating was going on from the house, so although this maybe should be a possibility, perhaps a more sensible option in terms of the game health would be for casino owners to be able to edit the payout amount? For example, Casino owner one may be a Godfather and tempts people to his city with a more than handsome payout, e.g a standard return on blackjack (bet 2,500 and get 3,750 winnings plus original bet); he feels he can afford to take the hit becuase he earns money from crime in his city, and people will play his other games; so he ultimately ends up in profit. Casino Owner two though, doesn't have a city or even a crew. He doesn't have the big bucks to bankroll such a lucrative return for gamblers, so he offers a lesser return - bet $2,500 and you'll only get your bet back plus $2,500 winnings. He won't get as many takers on these odds, but people like to play blackjack, and people will always be around his casino. Something like this would give users a lot more options and freedom, and also presents the posibility of casino owners undercutting each other, or even creating a cartel to ensure everyone sings from the same hymn sheet. Either way, a nice token of realism I feel. Totally unsure on the coding issues involved here though. |

Do you have to have a certain rank to play blackjack in the casino? |

Noah, that is in place already. It's called "payout mod" which modifies the payout between 50% to 200% of the base amount. The goal I'm working toward is finding the base amounts for bets, and the payout amounts that won't be detrimental to the casino's health. |
