| The Killing Contract | Started by: Death-Knight on Aug 08, '09 20:32 |

I was driving home from visiting Godmother Marietta at the Riot Castle, when Marietta phoned me and she gave me a hit contract to kill a man called Arnold. She briefly told me over the phone that the reason was that he was a rat and she wanted him to suffer badly and so she gave me his home address. I pulled up in my car to the side of the road and thought of many ways to kill Arnold. Shall I just shoot him in the face? Or shall I affect him in other ways more painful. The only thing that was on my mind at the time was to affect him mentally and then betray him. I was given the details of where he lived and what his day job was. He was a successful businessman who worked in downtown Detroit. I knew that he would be returning in the early hours of tomorrow morning from his recent business trip, which I found out a few hours ago that he was on. I decided that now would be the perfect time to get his family before he came home. I drove to his house and sat in my car watching from across the road where I parked. I watched for an hour when I noticed all the lights in the house were being switched off. I waited about 30minutes before I got out of my car and slowly made my way the drive towards the front door in the dark wet rainy conditions. Once I had reached the front door I pulled my crowbar out from my jacket and as quietly as I could I broke into the house. I shut the door behind me so nothing looked out of the ordinary to nearby neighbours. I slowly walked towards the staircase when suddenly I noticed a dog in the kitchen. I turned and slowly walked towards it, when suddenly it woke up as I was stood infront of it. As soon as the dog stood up I gave it a blow to the head with my crowbar killing it instantly. I then made my way quietly up the staircase and onto the landing. I saw a door slightly ajar to my left so I went towards it and slowly pushed the door open. Right in front of me by the back wall I saw thanks to the light coming in from the window, a small bed with a young boy peacefully sleeping. At this point I was having second thoughts about my job in hand but soon realised that it was something I had to do. I turned around, walked out and slowly closed the door behind me wiping the doorknob with a cloth from my pocket. I walked towards the door straight across the landing. I put my hand out and slowly turned the doorknob and pushed the door fully ajar. I walked towards the bed that was next to the window and saw Arnold's wife sleeping. At this point I reached over her for a pillow that was next to her and picked it up. I thought to myself it would be better if I just did it quickly. As this thought left my mind, I straightaway placed the pillow over her face and held it there tightly. Straightaway she woke up and was trying to break free. At this point I held it there even tighter until after a few minutes she lay there still not breathing. I took the pillow from her face and started walking towards the door. I walked out shutting the door behind me with the pillow still in my hand. Again I wiped the doorknob and headed down the staircase and out of the front door. I walked down the driveway and across the road to my car. I got in and put the pillow on the back seat. I sat there until the early hours of the morning in silence trying not to think of what I had done. 4am came and a car pulled up onto the driveway. I saw Arnold step out of the car, lock it and walk up to his front door where I saw him notice that the lock on the front door was broken. He entered the house and shut the door. I then got out of the car and stood on the sidewalk infront of the house. After a few minutes I could hear him running down the stairs shouting, so I started to pretend I was walking past the house. He ran outside and straight to his car. I noticed him trying to open the car door in a hurry shouting, "Come on just open!". I saw that he couldn't get his car door open so he came running up to me asking for my help. He told me that he had just found his wife dead lying in their bed and straight away I offered him a lift to the police station. We both got in my car as quickly as we could. I turned the ignition, started the car and drove off towards the police station. While I was driving he asked me if I had a cell phone he could use to call an ambulance. I told him that there was one on the backseat in my briefcase. He turned round reached for the briefcase when I noticed he'd saw the pillow. He turned to me in horror and realised the pillow was from his bed and knew I had killed his wife. I slammed on the brakes bringing the car to a halt and immediately locked the car doors. As he tried to force the car door open I pulled out my pistol and attached my silencer to the end of it. I put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger and blew his brains out. I quickly sped down the dark country lane that was to my right, until I came to a rock edge, below it was a dark lake. I got out the car, taking my briefcase with me and left the ignition on. I saw a rock on the ground and I picked it up and placed it on the accelerator. I stood there and watched the car drive off the rock edge and plummet into the lake. I took my cell phone out of the briefcase and called Marietta and told her that Arnold wouldn't be bothering her again. |

*Francis takes a sip of a Courvoisier* This is a fine, fine portrayl of the murky world of contract assasinations. The moralising, the practicality and the moods it creates. It has made me feel less safe as I go about my business... |
