Credits closed the heavy oak door to his office behind SammyGato, which gave a satisfying thunk at the latch met the receiving plate. He liked that do; much better than the crappy thin piece of shit that used to stand there. That one reminded him too much of Stone. 

"What do you think, boss?" asked Rusty, rising from his chair to pour a drink from the tumbler on the sideboard for the Don.

The Don took the glass from Rusty and enjoyed a small sip before he responded. Sammy was one of the ambitious guys who had taken him up on his opportunity in Bella Vista and after this, their second such meeting, Credits felt confident he had found his first man.

"I think he's our guy, Rust. He's had those old school values drilled into him, raised in the business, a level head and already handling a lot of intimate affairs for the Lannister family" he said as he took a longer drink from the glass of scotch "tell me what we know about him?"

Rusty had been expecting this. He knew the boss already had everything they knew on Sammy, so it wasn't so much the knowledge he was looking for, more for his insight. He was being tested.

"Gato's a good earner, understands the marketplace and has got a decent payroll of connected contacts as a result. The Lannisters have had him coordinating their security since they moved out into the Old City and word from inside is that he's done it well." Credits raised an eyebrow at that, but said nothing so Rusty continued "I have it on good authority that he has a controlling stake in a number of joints across Philadelphia, some he inherited from his father, but mostly self-made. Connections back to the old country seem solid, second generation immigrant to these shores, his father was a friend of ours too as I'm sure you remember..."

Credits swirled the remainder of his drink around in his glass, absorbing this information "he knows what I expect and I think he can do big things here" he said, running through their lengthy conversations in his mind again "Take Tommy and get him setup in Bella Vista. Maybe the old Jew's place or something on the other side of town."

Rusty nodded and left the office, Credits quickly shouted over his shoulder "Make sure you get him a good deal, Rust, I know what that should cost!" 

Stood out in the rain, Sammy was reflecting on the meeting he had with signore Credits. His application had been made after he was recommended to do so by some of his closest associates. His Don, CerseiLannister, had given permission to submit, and he had done so. The opportunity presented in the streets by the Bella Vista figurehead had been a curious one, simply down to the unique nature of it. It seemed to be a smart move to register interest, even if it wasn't meant to be.

Whatever the decision, he was grateful for the opportunity, the trust from his Don and the time taken to interview him.

Looking up into the clouds, Sammy heard the door open behind him as a  figure stepped out.

Si, whatever the decision was, the future would be interesting.

I know you to be a man of vision and motivation. It is my hope that those qualities you possess help you build a find dependable crew here in Philly. I wish you well in this venture my friend.

Contrary to what some may think, it takes more than just balls, vision and a will of pure steel to implement such a major change in the rebuilding of a district, a city even.

A tenacious mind, business acumen, and a political understanding of what makes the rest of the country tick also play a significant part in the decisions and actions that will ultimately return this city to the position of power to which it is rightly destined. Credit due, and credit given I’d say.

I have witnessed first hand the qualities and promise of Mr Gato, and am particularly interested in forging ahead with several key commercial construction projects which will I’m sure financially benefit all concerned.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to this fine city of ours SammyGato, and look forward to seeing your team flourish under your guiding hand Sir.

Today is a fantastic day for Bella Vista and for Philadelphia as a whole. 

Sammy is smart, capable and willing to work hard for his family, for his district and for his city, and when he came to me about setting up in Bella Vista, saying yes was a no brainer. My own family is a fantastic man down this evening, but the city of Philadelphia is brighter for his stepping up into this new position.

Sammy, a brave move, but I have every confidence in you. Good luck in Bella Vista, and remember that you always have family just a short taxi ride away.
