Duplicity sat there among her family. They were having a few drinks to calm their nerves after the previous night. She looked around the room and noticed some smiling faces missing. Duplicity sighed at the loss Chicago took, but their losses would have been far greater if she had not decided to remove New York. Many had no idea this was going to happen and she felt that she should inform her close friends and family as to why she made the decision.

"Pardon me."

Duplicity said as she stood up to face those in the room. Everyone went silent and looked at her. She gave them a soft smile, but she knew they were tired and grieving over the loss of their friends.

"Everyone here is probably shocked as to last night's events. At least you weren't expecting it. Nor was I, honestly. The interactions I have had with New York showed me that they were a lively and friendly bunch. They were 'good people' if you know what I mean, but in this line of work, good people and friends don't always stick together."

"I am not here to belittle New York. I respected them, highly. Yet, I am here to lead Chicago. I am here to protect Chicago. This is my job, my duty, and if I fail at that then I fail everyone who resides in our city. I am not someone who is going to just sit back and remain idle when I feel my city is threatened."

"So what could New York have done to threaten Chicago? Trust is a very tricky thing in our line of work. Chicago had seen conversations about how New York was trying to find allies to remove the soon to be 'insurmountable' Chicago. I do not take such talk lightly. Especially, when it is the very leaders of New York saying it. I take the rumors spread by the grapevine with a grain of salt, but not when it comes from those who lead a city."

"I will not sit back and just wait, hoping that this doesn't happen anytime soon. No, I will not apologize for taking action to protect this city. So the actions last night were not about removing an active city, who do a lot around here, and don't just 'click' away. Last nights actions were about protecting those who are special to me. This city, Chicago, she is special to me. Those who live here are protected by me and those who stand beside me."

The family and her friends nodded, but she could see a few faces rolling their eyes. Duplicity knew what they were thinking.

"Go ahead and say that Chicago did this because they can. Go ahead and say Chicago did this because they are just trying to become a powerhouse. Go ahead and vent, release the steam you have. Throw the insult that we are just looking for what people call 'plus ones'. Yet, you will just be repeating what hundreds have said after a war."

"I do not and will not tarnish the name New York made for themselves. All of them were great people. I hope to see it thriving soon. May their soul rest easy and find the light. They all shined bright and I hope that if their souls are reincarnated into another being, who washes up upon these shores, since there is no realistic way that their kin can return and contact any of us. I hope that their souls continue to shine as bright as before."

RIP to all those who fell and RIP Chicago, sad to now see 2 empty cities.

If you absolutely do intend to see New York shine... For fuck's sake do not install a bunch of mute click-monkey retards over there. There's plenty enough around as is.

Also, if Chicago could quit acting as though they had no idea they planned to take out New York, that'd be great. Yes, we all know, wars happen, rumor mill going, reasons, yadda yadda. People build up, they die, their families come take the reins and life goes on etc. Rinse, repeat. Chicago acting as though this was some unavoidable sudden 'well, what the hell happened here, we have no idea?!' thing isn't necessary. You did what you wanted to do, own that shit, I just hope you don't waste the opportunity to do something good in New York.

Dear Duplicity, should we understand that quote as meaning you heard some rumors from some leader of another city than NY you trusted, and thus decided to remove any future potential threat? Hmmm.... If that was the true reason for last night events, I would think the leader of that city is having more than just half of CH population, as was the case for NY... Because it would be suicidal to go after a city twice the strenght of yours if you don't at least have a clear superiority in numbers. Or that Leader you evoque, was smart enough to wipe out NY without moving his little finger, at the cost of more than a dozen of CH mafioso members... Or maybe there was more than one City leader aproached?

Anyways, it was a good time to strike and rather well executed, and fair play,  if attack is the best defence... RIP to all the fallen.

Sure, it's sad that recently we saw two cities got removed again. Thriving cities across the nation is better for business then passing through ghosttowns. But for me it's more sad that in a time of rebuilding one city chose to build with "questionable materials" and that the other city who were building a fine place for themselves were apparently feeling intimidated, just because someone else seems to be building a bigger house. 

We choose this life of crime, because it brings us fortune. We do our business, so we don't have to see the government use taxes to grab away our earnings. We make a good life for ourselves, because we can, to the best of our abilities. But if you have a bit less reach then others, don't go overreaching, cause in this world you'll end up with even less then you could have had.

My condolences go to all who lost family or friends last night.

I believe you misunderstood that part of what she said, Smarty. 

The mails were between Orsik and Madara themselves, placed into our hands. None of the other cities knew anything of the plot. Claiming they needed strike Chicago before it was too much to handle, basically. They had a goal in mind and we stopped it. When it comes to threatening our city in that manner, you can bet it won't be taken lightly. No reason to wait it out down the line after we knew about their future endeavours, that could've put more of our people into a vulnerable position. Duplicity's actions were strictly out of protecting those that bust their ass for us in Chicago, nothing more, nothing less.

I say it must be hard for some to resist the temptation when even the nonthreatening low ranked associates of the New York organization died yesterday. Quite a number actually! Did the rumors include New York's attack strategy with a wave of associates at the front lines just itching to take out Chicago's top men? 

So Ramza, the NY snitcher himself was either Madara or Orsik depending of who the actual city leader was? (refering to Duplicity words).

Or one of ex NY RHs who is to be a future city ruler? You got me completly lost there...

Man, NY had some real big balls to forment a plan to sack a twice Big city alone then...

RIP my beloved friends that was in New York I hope they rest in peace. But I came home to Chicago and I would Died for Chicago.

I would just like to say, Rest In Peace to all the fallen of this situation, many great lives were lost from both sides.

And it has been pointed out, that yes there were plans that were heard of in regards to an attack being put into the works from 2 leaders of New York, so why would Chicago in their right minds wait for New York to build their guns which would then enable them to attack.

Had New York just been happy to work together with Chicago, this situation could have all been avoided but hindsight is a very valuable thing that neither of us hold.

Also i would like to thank Duplicity for coming out here in the street to enlighten us on why this situation took place, it was a very kind and wonderful gesture especially with your very busy schedule and we all know (or better yet, should know) that you did not have to come out here and approach the masses to inform us. So thank you very much again.
