(The following story is based off mobsters, but the names have been changed for their safety...or mine...and some names are still the same haha. Pretty much the names were mobsters, but as life on these streets go, some have passed and I had to fill in with their kin, then I got tired of doing it so I changed the names of some and left em on others. Either way its all fiction, made up for entertainment so enjoy.) Chapter One Peter was chopping fire wood outside of the house while his wife was out walking through the woods. He stopped swinging his axe and took a look around. He loved the house he was staying at this weekend. It was old, but comfy. It required a lot of work to inhabit it but he didn't mind. He liked having to do chores, like chopping wood. It kept him busy but kept his mind free at the same time. He set down his axe and wiped his fore arm against his brow. It was hot and humid outside, even with the sun setting. With a groan of tiredness he picked up the small bundle of wood he had chopped. He walked inside the house and set it down in the kitchen next to the wood stove. The house was nice for the shape it was in. It had only two rooms. The front room had the sink, stove and table in the front. While the back half of the room was a small sofa and a cabinet with china dishes. There was only one other door to the right. It lead to the bedroom and a make shift bathroom. Peter walked to the sink and was about to wash his hands when he heard someone outside. "Maggie, is that you out there?" He called out. Just then the door burst open, and Peter went for his gun. Maggie was walking a few yards away from the house down a trail that ran by a creek. She noticed it was starting to get dark. The time had passed by quickly. She was farther away than she meant to be when she heard gun shots and stopped in her tracks. It sounded as if the shots came from the house. Fearing for her husband's safety, Maggie started running toward the commotion. She started praying that everything was ok back at the house. She nearly tripped over a fallen log in her panic but managed to regain her balance. She could see the house. The light was on in the front room. She ran as fast as she could up the yard but when she got to the corner of the house something hit her hard and she fell unconscious. Chapter Two The old door creaked open, Johnny Kraven walked into the room. It was dark. He could barely see two feet in front of him. But he could smell the stench of the room no problem. He could hear the flies buzzing around him. The room smelled of sewage, rotted meat, and blood. Johnny took three steps into the room and felt something against his head. He reached up and pulled on the chain. The light above blinked on and cast a yellow tint over the room. Johnny took a glance around the room, his expression hidden in the shadow cast by his fedora. The wooden floor was covered with blood. There was a table knocked over in the middle of the room, a corpse lay beside it. It used to be Peter Dufront. Johnny had known him, but most wouldn't recognize him in his current state. His right hand was missing fingers and his torso was blown open from multiple shots. His insides lay outside next to his body. Half of his face was blown away. It looked like the work of a Thompson submachine gun. Bullet holes plagued the walls. China lay broken over the floor. Pictures were shattered and some had fallen off the walls. There near the back of the room lay Peter's wife, Maggie. What had once been a yellow sofa was now covered in blood. Maggie's legs were spread at the bottom of the couch her head at the other end was facing Johnny. Her lifeless eyes wide open with terror. But there was no middle connecting the two, it now painted the sofa red. Her hands were tied. Someone had their way with her and then cut her in two...possibly not in that order. Johnny stood there analyzing the room. From the damage done it looked like Maggie was dragged there after Peter's death. Her face was beaten. Her hands and feet were bruised from fighting the room that was tied around them. And she had not hit by any of the bullets that tore apart the front room. Who would have done this to you guys? Why did this happen? He thought to himself. Johnny lit up a cigarette and tried to think over some scenarios, but none of them made any sense to him. Peter was only here for a few days to take a small vacation with his wife. Some time to get away from the city for awhile. This was a safe house used by Johnny's "Family" from time to time. It stood a few miles outside the city limits in the middle of the woods. No one outside the Family knew about it...until now. Peter had asked to use it for a few days to relax. Johnny's Godfather, Tony, had allowed him permission to stay there a few days. Johnny just thought to stop in tonight to check if Peter had planned to come back to town tomorrow. "I guess you won't be coming back tomorrow." He said aloud. Johnny took a deep drag of his cigarette and tossed it into a pool of blood to put it out. He immediately went to work prepping the bodies for disposal. He pulled out a pair a pliers, a knife, and set them down. He removed his hat and coat, unstrapped his shoulder holsters holding his pistols and put them on the counter. He walked up to Peter's corpse. Picking up the cold lifeless arm he cut off the finger tips, and tossed them into a metal waste basket. Then removed Peter's wallet, pocketed the cash from within and tossed the wallet in. He moved on to Peter's teeth, pulling each one out with the pliers and tossing them in the can like coins into a wishing well. He wrapped the body up in a rug from the room, and slid it by the doorway. He then went to work on Maggie, adding her pieces and the contents of her purse to the collection. He wrapped her in a bed sheet, making a little bundle, for Johnny was able to stack her halves on top of each other, and slid her next to the other corpse. He filled the trash can with gasoline, and lit it up. While everything was burning in the can he left the house to go to the back yard. He walked to the shed to get a shovel and started digging a large hole in the backyard. When he made a large enough hole, he went to work dragging the corpses into the pit and when he had finished, poured gasoline in and light it ablaze as well. Johnny sat down and watched the fire. He lit himself another cigarette and rested as he watched the dancing flames. This wasn't just some random killing. This was something else. Something evil had happened here. There was no real reasoning behind the murder. Johnny awoke as the warm sun started to shine on him. He had dozed off. The fire was almost out. He got up, stretched and started to fill the hole up. With the corpses taken care of, Johnny went back into the house. He picked up the trash can that had the teeth and ashes inside of it. He took it out back to the creek a few yards away and emptied it out into the current. He went back inside and tossed the bucket. He washed his hands, and pushed his brown hair back out of his face. He put on his had and grabbed the rest of his belongings and headed for the car. He'd send someone up to take care of the rest of the mess inside the house. Right now Johnny had to report to his bosses and let them know what had happened. Chapter Three Johnny pulled up to Godfather Tony Romani's headquarters around eleven A.M. Johnny was exhausted and dirty but he had to talk to the Godfather. Susan, Toni's right hand man (or woman in this case) was sitting at a table having a drink and reading the news paper. She looked up. "You look like shit." She said. "I need to see the Godfather, it's important." "What's it about? He's still waking up." "I'd rather tell you both at the same time. I'm kind of tired." "Wait here a moment. I'll tell him you're here to see him." She said as she got up and went to the back room closing the door behind her. Johnny walked up to the table and glanced at the newspaper. It read: 12th massacre in 12 days!! Police found three students murdered in their apartment building yesterday morning. The killing took place in the middle of the night... Susan came back in. "He'll see you now. Come on in." Johnny walked into the room and saw Tony sitting at his desk. "You look like shit." Tony said "Peter Dufront is dead, along with his wife Maggie. I found them murdered at the hideaway house last night. I spent all night disposing of the mess. We'll need to send someone up to clean up the mess in the house. I've only taken care of the corpses," Replied Johnny. "I see... Pick someone to go out and fix it up. Just how bad are we talking here?" "I've never seen anything this bad. It was like something out of a horror book. Bullet holes everywhere, bodies were mutilated. It wasn't your average murder. Something is bugging me about it; I feel there's something big behind this." "Could be something, could be nothing. Just get the mess cleaned up first. Then go around asking questions. I'll see what I find out from the other Family Heads. Keep me informed if you find anything out...you can go now." Johnny turned and walked out of the room. He needed to find someone to send up to the house, and he thought he knew just the guy. The guy he was thinking of was an old acquaintance, but royal fuck up, Tommy. Tommy used to be in a crew with Johnny and Tony back when Tony was Don of his family. But he had to be sent off after one too many screw ups, he's life was beginning to be in danger of Toni's impatience for incompetence so he was sent to work for Judge Holden when Tony became the Godfather. Johnny headed over to Judge Samuel Holden's office. Judge used to run with Toni's family but had recently been granted his own crew and he quickly set up his own place of business not far from Toni's head quarters. Johnny liked Judge, he was a good guy. But he hated going over there because of his right hand woman, Ellie. Ellie made him nervous. He didn't like being in the same room as her and Judge. When he walked in he saw her lying across an arm chair. Her legs were stretched out on one arm which made her already short dress fall further down toward her waist revealing more of her long smooth legs. Johnny's eyes ran down her exposed skin to her thighs. "Oh shit..." he said to himself in despair. Ellie saw him come in and a lovely smiley spread over her lips. "Now, I never thought I'd say it Johnny, but you look like shit." She laughed. "Well I can't stay handsome all the time. If you left the Judge for my good looks, he'd have me killed." "Well that'd just be bad for the both of us now wouldn't it?" Her bright blue eyes flashed at him as she light her cigarette. She brushed her long dark hair out of her face with her free hand and got up. Ellie was dangerously beautiful, but it was her eyes that got you. They could freeze you in place, and see through to your core. She walked over to Johnny and threw her arms around his neck and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She drew back and asked, "What's bothering my Johnny?" "It's some bad stuff, Ellie I can't really talk about it right now. I've got a lot to get done in a short time. I have to borrow Tommy from you all for a bit. Tony has a mess for him to clean up...literally." "Ok doll, he's up in his bunk." She said walking away. Her dress hugging her body showed it's every curve and Johnny was hypnotized by her motion. It was suddenly apparent how long it had been since Johnny had been with a woman like Ellie. He started to think if he even had been with a woman like Ellie. She vanished around a corner and Johnny was released from his trance. He lit a smoke and headed for the stairs. He found Tommy bent over sitting on the edge of his bed. He was unshaved, and though he was only thirty he looked like he was in his late forties. His hands were on his knees holding a fresh cigarette. "Hey Johnny." He said in a horse voice. "Have another late night? You look like shit." "Look who's talking." "Yeah, well I got a reason, and now it involves you. You've been volunteered to clean up a mess for Tony. There was a murder at our safe house. I need you to go clean up the mess. I've already disposed of the corpses so there's nothing big for you to worry about. Just clean up the mess and the blood, patch the holes in the wall and remove the furniture and burn it. This could take you a bit, so I want you to get started as soon as possible." "I don't know man, I got many to make in the streets." "Tony said to do this. I'd advise you to do it. I'll shoot you myself if he asks. You know you're on his last nerve." "You're right. It'd be good to get out of the city for a bit anyway." "Good." Johnny turned and left. To be continued... |
