Now adays in our popular and cultural societies there are many theories dealing or relating to how the earth, as we know it, is going to end. What is your personal opinion and theory on this very controversial and critical matter in our day and age... Some theoriest's say that the end of the world is going to be very soon. As a matter of fact one of the most famous dates given of when the world is going to end is "December 12, 2012." Who knows what will happen on this day. It will most likely be very chaotic and paranoi just like when we hit 2000. But back to the topic, what is your opinion on this matter?

The "end" will come as a result of our own destructive power. We previously built weapons to kill 1 man, now we build weapons that destroy millions at a time. It's inevitable. Predicting the date is a bit farcical but I personally think within the next 20 years or so we will have destruction on a massive scale which could result in the end of "our" world. Serves us right! Give a new organism a chance!

Hopefully not 2012, cause i turn 21 in 2011.  that'd suck if i cant even drink for a year.  T_T

I have never really thought about it like that before Ciaran. I do agree with you though. One day soon all the countries and nations in the world will develop a force or a machine that will change all of humankind as we know what it is right now. Who knows what the future beholds for us. It may be good or bad well actually not good at all because eventually we already know that we are going to die, we just do not know when.

the only person that knows when the world will end is God, not some crazy mayans who sacrificed each other to some pagen gods.

According the bible which relate to us building weapons capable of killing millions, the 4 animal/ 4 super powers of the world Russia being the bear, America the Hawk, China not sure on animal not going to look same as for the rest anyway 4 super powers combined with rest of the world battle it out till were pretty much non existent, then a new world is born after 1000's of years when the radiation etc etc clears, only safe place will be, the polar area's and Australasia where wind is formed keeping most harmful things out, of course a few other places in other continents.

It's impossible to predict the end of the world just like its impossible to know what happens after death.

Not to get into a religious debate but the idea of "God" and each religions take on it is probably what will cause the final destruction. GOD has been the reason for enough deaths in the world. I dont mind faith although im not a believer but when faith is turned into anger then there has to be something wrong.

Yup i agree once again with Ciaran lol. When the thought of a supernatural being actually being "God" is brought up around people, every single person is going to have their own opinion on that matter. Eventually when you get a group of people or a nation together and then have conflicts with each of their own person beliefs and opinions. That is when you will have a serious problem on your hand. We have seen this especially with what Martin Lutheran did when his beliefs went against the belief of the Roman Catholic Church.

I'm just having faith in Gods word

Faith is one thing but there are people with blind faith who can misconstrude the words they read. There are extremists in all religions and im not picking out a specific one. We are basically all animals, smart animals yes but still animals. Religion was trying to make us seem like were so much better than that, that we are made in the image of a "God" and we were chosen to inhabbit the earth. I just cant believe that. Im Irish and i was raised Catholic but everytime i went to church when i was younger i just felt like i was in a cult. My biggest gripe with Catholosism is the constant thanking of God for everything you achieve. I DID IT!! not some Guy with a beard in the clouds!! Anyway ive turned this into a religious debate now lol
