I have a friend who is in stage four ovarian cancer and I’m desperately trying to help in any way I can.

I am trying to find out as much as I can about a drug called Olaparib. (It is also called AZD2281). This drug is used to treat stage four ovarian cancer. It is used in several countries including France, Holland and Sweden and has proven to be quite effective. However, it has not been approved by NICE due to cost.

I wondered if anyone knows anyone who has used it. If so, how effective was it? Where did they obtain it from? Private clinic or maybe direct from manufacturer (Astra Zeneca). Any side effects?

Any information would be very welcome.
