I wanted to know is there any way to get my rank up faster

Well every rank have minimum time. Til wise guy its automatic when you get the points. To get the points you can be active,posting,petty crime,drug run, JB etc. Then u get the points to rank up,when it get to Made rank is up to your Boss (if you got the requirement points)

Does posts contribute to gaining rank? Is there a certain amount required for after Wg etc...

'Good posts' give exp points. Normal / crappy ones don't, so spamming for points is a waste of time.

There are no 'technical' requirements for a minimum number of posts, but some cities/leaders have their own rules on things like that to encourage user interaction and activity. If you read around your HQ you should be able to find your own crew rules on such things.

What or who decides a 'good post'?

'Who' would be impossible, as it's too subjective and there are simply too many posts to review.

'What' would be a script that works similiar to any text review/revision tools. A quick google will turn up many such tools which can be used to review/improve any type of textual content.
