Duplicity was following everyone out of the church, her black dress flowed behind her as the wind caught it. One of her men held an umbrella over her so that the rain wouldn't touch the top of her head. The parade of black made their way to each car to follow the hearse to where the caskets were going to be laid to rest. The police couldn't find all the bodies of those that were removed from the constant gunfire that was going off in the great cities of our country. The bodies that would lead the trail back to Duplicity and her people were disposed of properly. Whether they enjoyed their sleep at the bottom of a river or hidden far out in the country where no soul would ever think of venturing to, no one was going to find the evidence. The mobsters didn't get this far or make a living off this life if they weren't good at what they did. Yet, of course some of the bodies were left, of which Duplicity felt it only appropriate to attend the funerals. The cars were filled and the hearse began its venture to the cemetery. Duplicity sat in the car along side Voodoo and Seph, their hands intertwined as the car pulled forward. Both could tell that Duplicity was filled with anger and sadness at the same time. She was sad over the loss of her close friend Hitcher, but angry at what made her pull the trigger. There was fury in her soul, a fire that was ignited by events that had happened a few nights before. Even though everything was over, her heart had yet to calm down. "Duplicity, you can let it go now. Everything is over." She nodded, but still couldn't let it go. She had to vent. She had to get her anger out, otherwise her heart would not be able to rest. "I just can't believe it! How dare they do that to me! Thinking they could use me. I offer to help them with their removal because of a man who couldn't keep his trap shut about Chicago. How he could never shut up about us wanting to war this person or that person, sending his little minions out to try and cause a ruckus. Yet, throw them a bone and they want a steak." Voodoo tried to calm her down, but her rampage was already set loose. Both him and Seph knew that she would just have to yell and scream, get it all out, and she would be fine. "I offer help, but instead it turns into Chicago doing everything for them!? Besides what Hitcher did, the rest hid, the rest pretended that was all they could do. I am no fool, I am not stupid. Did they think I would fall for it? It came to moments before everything, told to get people together, and figuring that they could handle most of the dirty work, I say okay. That wasn't the case, it was thrown onto Chicago to do all the dirty work, guns were faulty because they didn't go off when they should have, people were telling everyone to go, but Detroit sat there not moving. It almost seemed like a set up." "Yet, I have faith Hitcher wouldn't have done that to me. Could I say that about the rest? Hardly, one of their own men, a great leader of their city, tried to make us think he didn't have more power than what he really packed. Another, couldn't even put up a sign for her own new business she had for at least over a week. People bitched and complained about how inactive Cersei was when their own backyard couldn't even do something as easy as that." "I just can't stand the fact that a city with a man like Hitcher, could ever be so lazy or so deceiving. Having to remove a city because of those he surrounded himself with, to see him fall, was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made." And with that she was finished. They looked at her and could tell she was a bit relieved. At the same time the car slowed as they had reached the cemetery. The car door opened and they exited onto the grass. Walking over, everyone stood around where the caskets laid, ready to be lowered down. The preacher began his speech and then one of the close family members, who weren't involved in the mafia life, came forward to say a few words. After they were done speaking the preacher prayed and the caskets were lowered. Everyone was handed a rose. Duplicity stayed back as everyone threw their roses down upon each casket, making sure she was the last one she waited there after she tossed hers down. She had chose Hitcher's casket to throw her rose upon. Her eyes bloodshot from the tears that had been pouring down over the loss of him. Everyone began to leave, but Duplicity stayed. She stood there and then began to sing quietly to herself. "Black hearts, black days Duplicity continued to sing as her open palms turned into a fist, followed by a tear rolling down her face. "History won't drag me down She stared down at the caskets, that were now being covered with dirt, six feet under. "Hey, hey, what you say? Voodoo and Seph stood over by the only car that was left, waiting for her, but they knew not to bother her. She was coping in her own way and this song was one of those ways. "Tonight I've got a new life "History won't drag me down Duplicity wiped the tears from her eyes and then turned around and began to walk back to the car. She lifted her head up high and whispered. "Let it go, go go, let it go...." |

"Na na na na. Hey hey hey. Goodbye." A walks out from behind a tree. Hes been there the whole time. Waiting. As duplicity walks away he touches the casket and yells, "Last." Duplicity falls down in tears...also she breaks a leg somehow..the realization that she wasnt actually the last one there crushes her. She goes home to think about what zhe could of done differently. At the same tim voodoo cries about a scraped knee. |

Invited as protection, Sammy stood silently among the dispersing crowds, solemnly and respectfully watching over the final moments of the ceremony. As always, he stifled any hint of curiosity that might see him probe for answers to questions that were really, none of his concern. This was clearly an unsettling day for Don Duplicity, Chicago, and all her associates. No, Gato stood, grateful to be welcome, however regretful that it was necessary. The wind caught in the trees and the grass, brilliant and green, swayed in response. Droplets of water shimmered on the rims of fedoras and the shoulders of raincoats. This day however, was dark. |

Seph watches as the fallen get carried off to there burial sites, making sure to remain close to Duplicity he could see in her puffy red eyes that this indeed was not an easy day for the City head of Chicago. It surely was not an easy decision to make and really was not easy for anyone in attendance as they new the Hitcher quite well and he had grown on them all in his time watching over Det. May the fallen rest in peace, its never easy to remove a friend in any sort of fashion. It truly does take a run at the ole ticker, having to put your personal feelings aside to get something done and then embrace them after everything is over. Your reasoning is more then enough Duplicity, we all know that no matter the choices we make there will always be two sides to the fence. You truly and wholeheartedly felt it was necessary for this to take place and I know you would not have approached me the night before with a heavy heart if you didn’t feel like it was. Waiting with Duplicity until most people were gone he glanced over at her and gave her a nod, she new Seph had to return to Las Vegas to attend a couple funerals of his own. Before turning and walking towards the cars he handed his rose over to Duplicity. Never to far should you ever need anything. |

People may bitch, whine and toss Duplicity's reasoning to the side. However, I was once from Detroit and foresaw what was coming with the people Hitcher was surrounding himself with. There were a lot of good people who tried their best there, but it was always a losing battle. My time came to a head there after a speech I made a few weeks ago 'hit home' with a few people, both in Detroit and further afield. Hitcher and I left on speaking terms but it was obvious we could no longer work together due to what I felt was a mis-managed city where bloodline relationships were priority over business and current affairs. I felt it wouldn't be long until this cost him dearly has Hitcher has always kept some 'volatile' friends, my own bloodline included. Something was eventually going to pop over there and from Duplicity's reasoning, it sounds like it did. |
