Somewhat Grand Re-opening Started by: AlexMercer on Aug 21, '09 20:39

Alex Mercer is approaching the mean streets of downtown New York city. He has a smile on his face due to the news he is going to announce. He tosses his now empty beer bottle in a nearby trashcan and digs into his pocket for a smoke. He finds his pack of cigarettes and begins searching his pockets for his matches. A couple minutes go by an no matches.

Son of a bitch.

He checks his coat pocket one more time to find that he hand never checked it in the first place. He grabs the matches and sighs to himself. He lights a match and lights his cigarette. Now back in his good mood, Alex reaches his destination and looks through the traffic flow of Mafioso. He stands on a mail drop-box and calls out to get their attention.

Ladies and gentlemen of our fair world, please hear me out, for I have some exciting news. My bar, which has recently become desolate, has now been revamped, and is now ready for business again. The place is called the Red Car Wire, and is my pride and joy. Not many have heard of my establishment, but there are a few regulars who will be glad to know about my Grand Re-opening.

It is a nice place. Plenty of bright lights, posters, and records on the walls, and an overall great atmosphere. I also hope that you all like music, because we will be having different live bands every night of the week. Speaking of which, if any of you sweet mafioso's out there think of yourself as a musician, feel free to contact me about performing at the Red Car Wire. I will also be looking for bartenders and waitresses for support.

So please, come on by and say hello. Everything is free for the first week, just to show my appreciation for everyone supporting my business venture. I will hopefully be seeing you all soon.

Alex hops of the mail box and blows a kiss to everyone who was in attendance of his speech. He takes a long drag off of his cigarette and takes a bow. He begins moseying off into the distance back in the direction of the business district. On his way he sees and elderly man making the mistake of counting his paycheck cash in public. He takes the money and smiles at the man. He then continues on his way.
