Seraphyna had taken to the streets today. It was a beautiful day out and she wanted to walk around and listen to some people speaking. Catching onto a man's words she stepped a little closer to that crowd and listened to what others were saying. Casually slipping closer to listen better before she herself got involved.

I think this raised a good point  in regards to activity. I was here a bit earlier but wanted some clarification on what Khaleesi was talking about. It seems I will not get that so I will continue on with my thoughts.

While activity means very different things to people I think KevinOwens has touched on a very good point. Variables. In this life there are so many to take into consideration. I will give a few examples of some activity and my thoughts on whether they would be deemed appropriate or not.

Situation One: Very active by the looks of things but never spends any time doing much.  Ultimately a mute monkey. 

This to me is not appropriate. If you are here and very visible on our shores but you disregard mails sent to you or any form of communication, then you are missing out. Sure you could send up millions of dollars but if you don't then what good are you to your family? You clearly are not communicating with them, nor or are you contributing to the welfare of those you have decided to group yourself with. I can't see this as appropriate.

Situation Two: Very active by the looks of things, contributing in the streets and/or within your chosen family.

This to me would be appropriate. You are actively involved with community and/or your family. I am not stating that you have to be at every speech but if your family knows you are present that is good, right? People are always complaining that the streets we walk and talk on don't mean anything if the family knows you exist, well here is your chance. Whether or not I agree or disagree is irrelevant. You are here, you are communicating in some form and that is active. 

Situation Three: Sort of here, you contribute every chance you get and your family knows you exist.

That's good. That is everything your leader wants right? Good job on you for being active in our community.

Situation Four: Sort of here, shut in, barely noticeable.

That is not active.  That is not appropriate to me. Wouldn't be for a hand or leader surely.

Situation Five: You are here five minutes, gone the rest of the day, but you communicate.

Not active. This would not be an appropriate level of activity for a hand or leader in my opinion. Tolerable I suppose for a member though.

These are just some brief scenarios, of course there would be other things to look at, such as is your communication appropriate for who you are speaking to? If you are out in discussions are your thoughts clearly spoken or does it look poorly on your leader or city?

I mean I have seen some active individuals who say the craziest things and it really makes you wonder about them. Disagreements in discussions is common, but how you go about handling a difference of opinion is important. If you are name calling, bringing up someone's ancestors as a reason to disregard someone's thoughts, you are just looking like an ass.

So you can be the most active person in our world or one of the least. I think the variables are situations and roles in which you play in our community that determine if it is enough or not.

Smiling politely Seraphyna backed into the crowd a bit. She wasn't quite sure if she was ready to bolt just yet so she figured she'd stay in the crowd and listen for a little bit now that she said what was on her mind.
