What would you do?ew Started by: Pluto on Aug 17, '15 22:56

Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by. Im here because I've been given an awesome opportunity! I've been given a chance to mold L.A. to whatever I believe would be best for it! Something that few get a chance to do and even fewer do well. I'm still just a simple low time crook. I knock over a few old ladies to get by. What I need is advice!

Who better to get that advice from? All the mafioso who have made their bones and proven themselves already!

So, Im here today to ask you a simple question:

If you had the opportunity to choose what becomes of L.A. what would you do with it? Would you have aspirations of grandeur or would you just keep your head down and make a living?

I appreciate all responses and I will make sure to listen to everyone to absorb as much information as I can. Thank you in advance for your time.

Try and get it to work how the actual Mafia works. Get people to respect each other, stop being little bitches and shooting each other because they fear someone elses gun. If you have a problem, talk it out. Politics, socialise.

There's more to this world than shooting, earning and getting credits on ic and there's not many people focusing the social (And RP) aspect of it.

Try and get the people of LA to respect ranks, get 'em to understand how the Mafia works and live by that and not how the rest of the world works.

I would really love to see LA become something awesome and with the right people I think it could (Even more so if the rule enforcers backed off instead of trying to play gods but we'll see how that plays out). Make a good job of LA, Show the rest of the world how it's done. I wish you luck.

Since that is where I originated from... here is what I will tell you about my old dreams and aspirations from those times.

You have the gateway of the art industry, the movie industry and the imports of the western front from the orient.

I'm keeping it simple as I will not do all the work for you. With those three keys, I give you the very means to make it big. Get your crew to work those keys and you, my friend, can go anywhere from there.

(And thank you Kangeroo for the last portion of your bit as I fully agree whole heartedly.)

Interesting Kangeroo, though by default isnt La Cosa Nostra a family of the mafia? I'm confused by that. Though, I think core values are incredibly important. I will make sure to hold all of L.A. to the highest possible standard.

Katharina, that is brilliant. A market that perhaps hasnt been tapped yet. There could be a lot of profit to be made. I will consider it deeply and do my best to create a profit for the great city of L.A.

You have to make allies, and you have to make allies fast. You will not survive as a lone gunmen walking the streets of LA. Meet the people, form a bond and work together. Solidarity is the key to making the situation work. You may be the pioneers of this era, but you'll quickly be forgotten if you're unable to play well with others.

i have to agree with Falcon here, that is the best thing to do, get to know who you are working with and find out what their goals or aspirations are as well, try to find a common ground everyone would be willing to work towards, anyone can shoot a man in cold blood, but it takes true leaders to be able to solve your differences politically.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

Here is my advice to you my declassified planet friend and anyone who has plans to take over any city and/or district at any point in their organised crime career.

Fuck what anyone else thinks you should do or those who tell you what you should do when running a city. Way to many times, generation after generation, power house after power house, leader after leader have we seen a district or city built up in to exactly what it has already been or is currently happening in other locations around the country. Way to many people follow the mould and turn each city in to a copy of another with the same rules, same blood lines leading it and same actions or lack there of. I say make your own rules, do things how you personally and those you have trusted in to your inner circle should want to do them. It's up to those people to make a city great by innovating and creating their own way of doing things.

The cities of the past that have just gone with the flow and done as is expected of them, learned through the years of always being the follower or the sheep rather than the lion at the helm, are never remembered. Those who try and do things differently, whether failed or succeeded are the ones that are remembered. The ones who refuse to follow the pack but rather think creatively and keeping people engaged are the ones who go down in history.

Some might say obviously that those who just sit back and take pressure from those more powerful them and those that do as they're told live longer and therefore have more time to build but where is the fun in that? I'd rather live for a week and have a lot of fun trying different things and seeing what works than to live for months doing the same thing day in and day out. Trial and error my orange dog, go catch your mouse!

I also have to add on there though that making allies, as someone has mentioned, is definitely important. Mutual friendships though rather than letting yourself be the lap dog for someone more powerful than you.
