Simply put, a magazine is a container in which ammunition is stored, whilst a clip is a small piece of metal which holds rounds in place whilst outside the magazine, and sometimes within the magazine as well.

Not to be pedantic, but a ".357 Magnum is a bullet type not a handgun type" if you were to say a Colt Python chambered in .357 Magnum then that would be a favourite handgun. Equally to another comment before which simply said "9mm" could you be a bit more clear, a 9mm is not a type of handgun its a calliber.

Also, in reference to the earlier debate about "Clip or Magazine" I think its fair to say that in terms of popular lexicon, the term "clip" coul refer to any kind of "magazine" although Premier is quite right about it being a magazine and not the aforementioned clip, it terms of people would say "clip" seems pretty fair as in "hey throw me another clip" whilst using pistols in a shootout. If you were in a WW2 shootout using the M1 Garand and said "hey throw me another clip" you would be both correct in terms of popular language and in terms of technical language. Dont get me wrong, Premier you are technically right but the others are also right as it would be deemed socially acceptable to call a magazine a clip.
