I only had three bullets left, and they were hammering away at the door. I pulled out my revolver and got ready to fire, holding my breath with a silent prayer. The door burst open. I remember firing off one shot...and then all was a blur. I woke up with a bucket of water being thrown in my face. Some man was stooped over me, his eyes glinting to me maliciously, even if It was so dark I could barely make out his face. He switched on a light. It hardly made much of a difference since the bulb was flickering quickly into lifelessness. At least I'd managed to hit him--his shoulder was wrapped in a blood-soaked bandage. I felt the ropes tying my hands, burning into my wrists...I began to try loosening them without detection. He threw another bucket of water at me and screamed, his face contorting with suppressed pain and unrestrained rage. "Where is he, Skits?" I shook the water off my head like a dog. "Where is who?" He threw the empty bucket at me. Its rim caught my forehead, causing it to swell and drizzle blood down my face. He gave me a snarl of contempt. "Don't play dumb. It don't suit you kid." The man painfully pulled out a cigarette and lit it with a shaking hand before resuming his interrogation. I took the opportunity to pull a loop of rope loose. "Sidious, you bastard. Who do you think I was talking about?" he took a deep drag on his cigarette and glared at me. I returned his gaze with a disgusted look. "I'd never tell you even if I knew where he was." I pulled the rope a bit looser. Just keep him talking. He'll be distracted long enough for me to get free. "I know you know where he's at." He pulled out the murky shadow of a .38. "Don't think that I won't use this, either, Skittles." The gleaming slit of his left eye twitched slightly. "So, one more time. Where is he?" I'd managed to get one of my hands loose from the rope, my gaze meeting his unflinchingly. "We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way." He stepped closer until the gun was pressing into my forehead. I gazed at the shaded face, my brain working to place his features from the wheel of faces in my memory--his voice was definitely familiar, but where had I heard it before? Before I got lost in my own thoughts, I shook off my restraints and pulled my other hand free. I quickly launched for the gun, grabbing it with both hands before he could react. I turned it on him and fired into his chest. He groaned as he hit the floor. I took the opportunity to get a closer look at his face. It still was a blur. I knew him from somewhere...I just couldn't put my finger on it. I shook away the thoughts and tried to regroup myself, gazing about the room. Suddenly, I heard a frantic bang at the door. "Hey! Is everything all right in there? I heard some shots." I aimed the gun to the door and got ready to fire once more, fighting back a sense of déja vu. After a couple minutes more of powerful fists pounding on the door, it burst open. I instantly shot off a couple of rounds. One caught him in the chest. The other got him in the head. I sprinted out of the room, shots ringing out behind me. I sucked in a pained gasp as one caught me in the leg. I kept running, concentrating on nothing but leaving, getting out and away. "You're a dead man walking!" I heard them yell after me spitefully. Just get away. After running and bleeding for what seemed ages, I was forced to stop and catch my breath. I looked down at my leg--the bullet had caught me just above my ankle. Nothing fatal, easy to heal, but it would hurt like fuck until he could get some proper medical attention. Then I heard a voice. I straightened quickly and lurched forward to continue running. I made it a few steps before I had to stop--the pain had gotten to be too much. "Skittles is that you?" I readied the .38. However many rounds it had would be equal to the number of henchman that would be felled. As a figure turned the corner, I pulled the gun up and almost squeezed the trigger. Thankfully, I didn't. "Skittles don't shoot me! It's Darth for Chrissakes!" I blinked at him a few times before lowering my gun with a shaky sigh. He smiled nervously at me, then looked down at my leg and whistled. "Damn man. We gotta take you to the hospital." "I ain't going there! That's the first place they'll come looking for me." Darth gave a small shrug. "Well in that case, I got a friend I can take you to. He'll get that out of you. It IS gonna hurt like hell though." I nodded and limped as fast as I could with him to the car. My mind began drifting back to the dead man's face...he was definitely familiar. Darth yelled at me get to get in as he cranked the engine. I clambered into the back seat and he took off once I closed the door. I yelled at him to get me some vodka. A few blocks later, he pulled over and tossed me a bottle. I thankfully opened it and started drinking until I went numb. I heard him pull over and he yanked the door open, glancing about nervously before peering into the cab. "We're here man." If you think you know where I remember his face from I'll give you half a million dollars please send all replies to me |

Velma stands on the edge of the crowd, entranced by the tale Skittles was spinning... until she overhears Vito's comment. Choking on the water she's sipping she tries, and fails, to hold back a laugh. Skittles, a girl? I'm sure he'll find that very... flattering. |

Hmmmmmm.... Nice story Skittles but im going to have to go with the others on this. Is there any clue or anything as it is really tough to know where this guy is from. I know that might be the idea but I don't recall hearing anything like this in my past or anything. |

It's very well written. I'm pretty sure Skittles isn't expecting us to *guess* who the guy is. He will just pick out the best written story ending for his beginning. YOU decide who the guy is and the effort is in writing the story of how Skittles met the guy. |
