This story is about me and my friend, Joey. Of course, I never met Joey until I moved to America, looking for a dream job. Looking to live the American dream as they say. Where I grew up was thousands of miles away in Belfast. Belfast is famous all over the world for its violence and it was. I was used to it to a certain degree but when I arrived in New York, I was shocked with the crackheads killing people for rocks but soon I got used to that violence too. I had been in New York for a month and wasn't living the American dream yet. At that point, I said fuck it, if I wasn't going to have money from a 9-5 job, then I was going to take it anyway I could. This is when Joey came into my life. I was in an irish bar when a short stocky guy bumped into me and then looked at me as if I was a piece of crap. I said sorry and smiling he said to me in the old mafioso way, " I'm only busting your balls, man. Let me buy you a drink" I agreed so we had another and before long the bottle of whiskey was finished. Then he said "Let's get out of this irish shithole, I'll take you to a proper place" Little did I know I was going to a mafia steak house a few blocks away. When we got there, the room was full of people including some I knew of as well known mafioso. We sat down and he ordered for us. After we finished our drinks and food and I had told him my story, he said, "Come on over here, I want you to talk to a friend of mine" Apparently after telling him my story and he was a good judge of character, he had decided I could be trusted. We walked over to the table where Joey's friend was. It turned out to be his capo but I was none the wiser about it then. After a few minutes, I was asked to sit down and join them. Joey had a few private words with his capo in private at that point. The rest is history, Joey and I now control a big slice of the rackets in and around the blocks we hang out in and we are making loads of cash for ourselves and the family. I am happy now and living a good life, but something is missing. I am worried I will never make made man as I am not Italian. They make me feel welcome but I am just not one of them. |

A much easier read, good story to start, the breaking it up with punctuation etc. really makes it better. Good for you! |
