What kind of crew are they? Nationality might play a part in the name. Where would they be located? Are they traditional in their mafia ways, or a street gang of some sort? Do they wear a specific colour? Do they engage in specific business? Is it focused around a central member of the crew/family that the name can be taken from?

Just some questions to help get your creative juices flowing.

Also searching historic gangs/crews/families from different parts of America and even overseas can help to tick the mental over into something likeable. I'm less about throwing random stuff out there, and more about tying things into the greater story that's being written. If you can find something in your story to work off of then it's a good starting point.
