Dubliner looks hard at KL. He doesn't even blink.
"I went home to get Mickey, who I had left in my apartment to come to our meeting late last night... I figured I had pulled this guy out of a situation in the Bar, before I knew that you were the person he shot, so I figured he'd trust me. I figured wrong. I went back to get him, and walked through the front door to him and a few of his buddies tearing my place apart... They overpowered me, beat me to within an inch of my life--I had to play dead! I had to crawl out of the front door of the apartment building, and DRIVE back to this damned hotel! So, Mr. KL, yes. If I am going to cause further problems with the group of men who KNOW where I live, then I will need some money... Not to mention EVERYONE has taken a hit from this stock crash."
Dub stands to his feet. He turns his back to KL, obviously incredibly pissed at the man's remarks.
"So no. It's not ALL about the money! These men broke into my house and destroyed EVERYTHING I have ever worked for! And yes, you are a businessman. So If you want to talk business and take out the emotion of all things that have led up to this situation, I will be more than willing to oblige. From a business standpoint, I have something you want. I named a price. Give me what I ask, or you don't get what you want. And if you have the slightest idea of trying...extracurricular ways to gain this information from me, I've already been through hell and back. So I will go to the grave with this info just to spite you."
Dub throws some books off of a bookshelf that stands against the wall by the door. They all collide with the floor as some open up to different pages and some remain closed. Dub turns back to KL breathing heavily.
"So, KL. Again I ask, How much is this information worth to you?!" |

"You want 150k Dub?... done!. However I want to know what you know for this kind of price". I have a trusted employee bring 150k in a briefcase and put it on my desk. I open the case and spin it around so the cash is visible to Dub. "Ok give me some good information and this is what its worth to me". I wait to hear Dub's response before handing over the money. |

Right before Dub opens his mouth I pause him. "I think me and you had enough fun Dub... you want to know what info on Mickey means to me?." I walk over to the fireplace in my office and throw the case in it and set it a blaze. Looking directly at Dub I reply "It means jack shit to me... may take years but rest assured Mickey will be found but ill be damned if I have to make you a richer man to get my target. Now step out of my office its time for me and Matteo to have a talk." |

As Dubliner has now shooed off from the room, Matteo yaps around. "Why the fuck. You almost fell down to his trick. Once again."
Matteo took a cigarette out and lit it. He tries to be more composed now.
"That fucker need to be fucked. I despise him. I despise him a lot. He smells a lot like me. He smells a lot like fox" |

Dub stands over by the bookshelf as KL throws a briefcase of money into the fire. He stares as the bills all become engulfed in flames. Then he smiles and looks at KL. As the two men make eye contact, Dub couldn't help but laugh hysterically.
"Holy s***!" Dub laughs, "I can't believe you just did that!" At this point, Dub is struggling to stay on his feet as KL looks at him in a serious manner, unsure of what Dubliner finds funny about the situation. Dub looks back up to KL who is obviously confused as to why he is laughing.
"My god, how did you become a businessman? You've been shot... You failed to track down your killer... And now you're out 150 grand. That's a terrible waste ESPECIALLY in the economic situation that our fair nation is in. You're a crazy son of a *****, you know that?" Dub looks down at his feet and chuckles to himself. "You know, while I was getting the snot beaten out of me in my own apartment, I noticed something... The group of men, the man who shot you included, had scratched a name on my wall with a knife... A name I remember... And I also heard them speaking of where they wanted to take your shooter to hide..."
Dubliner wipes his face with his sleeve, as tears had begun rolling down his cheeks from laughing so hard. "It's amazing what lengths a person will go to to NOT find a man who attempted to take his life..." Dub says sarcastically, "The answers to all of your questions stands just 10 feet away from you." he chuckles as he holds his arms out wide to show that he means himself, "You know what else, though... For some strange reason, I seem to remember you having some sort of illegal alcohol distribution going on in this here hotel. That right?"
Dub smiles to himself. "I've become quite the problem for you, KL. Quite the problem indeed. And now, you've gone and offended me a tad bit. In order to keep me quiet about your Speakeasy, I will need 150k... In order to find your killer, I'll need another 150k... So, in total for all of that, it'll be 300k now..."
Dub pauses for a moment and thinks to himself before saying, "I'll be in Giuseppe's Diner over on the corner of 6th St. and Maine Ave at 10 am." Dub looks down at his watch; 8:24. "I want YOU, in person, to bring the money in a Black Leather briefcase. You'll sit in the diner, drink a cup of coffee, pay, and leave the suitcase under your table as you leave. They have some long table cloths, so it'll be hidden real nice... If ANYTHING I just said, ISN'T done... Expect a visit from the local boys in blue, your arrest and, shortly following, the closing of your business."
Dub turns and opens the door. As he leaves, he chuckles to himself, "Now you'll be 450k under!" |

With a smile I look at Dub "You want to know how I became a business man?... its the fact that I won't fold under pressure, I can make tough decisions and anyone who knows me will tell you I always get my target. Here's how it works from here... the gentlemen you have behind you plus a few personal family members will be keeping an eye on you starting now... the 30k you received before was for you keeping the boys in b lue from asking questions, however should you send cops in here... well then Mr Dub you will meet my family and see why I made it to where I did today. The bribing is over, my suggestion is to walk out of my office and don't show your face here again unless you intend on treating me with respect which you have lacked to do since we met. |

Koehler was wandering around the neighborhood looking for KL. He needed to discuss something important with him and it couldn't wait. Just as he went around a corner, he heard KL's voice coming from the building to his right. He ran inside the building and followed the voices. Walking down the hallway, Koehler heard what sounded like a blackmail. He barged into the room just as DublinerFM was walking out. He put his hand on Dubliner's chest and gently pushed him back into the room, closing the door behind them. "Well, well, well. What have we here?" Koehler looked around the room to get a feel for the environment. He always needed to have an escape route planned. All of the close calls he had over the years have taught him well. He saw KL further back in the room, looking rather surprised. Koehler didn't feel like screaming today, so he motioned for KL to move closer and join him near Dubliner. "Would you two mind telling me what's going on here? It sounds like you're blackmailing my lad, Dubliner." |

"My offer stands. See you then." Dub walks out of the room and drives to the diner to wait... |

Anton got a call from Matteo regarding the situation with KL in his new hotel. He went over and saw that Matteo and Koehler is already in the office discussing with KL on how to deal with the situation. Eh, Koehler you are around too and not drunk. I am surprise. Anton gave a wink to him. KL proceeded to explain the current situation to Anton when he finishes, Anton looked towards Koehler. Well since you are here, do you want to deal with dubliner or do you want me there? I mean he is from Chicago so he is Fam of sort. As Anton take a seat and lit a cigarette waiting for Koehler's answer. Well, lets say if it is up to me. Lets just ignore this fucker. Send him a gift of 20k that's about it. |

I meet Dub at the diner at the requested time, only with slight changes. I did not bring the money and I walked in with my boss Koehler who showed up because he was unhappy with Dub's disrespect. I sit down with Koehler sitting next to me. "So dub I guess things weren't clear at the office...I guess you want to explain yourself to my boss here... well start explaining!." |

Dub watches through two pieces of glass that enhance the distance he can see. Every once and a while he had to move the blinds out of the way, but for the most part, he had a great view of the place. A car pulls up in front of the diner. Out steps Koehler and KL.
"I tell the kid to come alone, and he does the polar opposite... I tell him to be here on time..." Dub looks down at his watch. "5 minutes late..."
Dub watches as Koehler and KL enter the diner and sit down with one of the people that Dub paid off. Dub spotted no briefcase with the group. The plan going into the diner was to pay all of the customers off. They were to attack KL at the tap of a spoon against a glass 3 times. They were also to inform KL that Dub was running late to the meeting... Dub read the lips of his man as he explained that Dub was running late. KL and Koehler nodded and ordered a small breakfast. Dub, noticing that nothing that KL was told was listened to, left the room that he rented that was across the street from the Diner. Dub ran out into the alleyway and jumped into his car and sped off.
He made it to the hotel in 5 minutes. Traffic was unusually non-existent. Those 5 minutes were unheard of to get several miles to the hotel... But Dub got there in record time. He parked about a block away from the hotel and walked quickly to the front door. He walked in and was greeted by one of the doormen. Dub continued to the lobby restroom and spent only a couple seconds in there. Not enough time to do any...business. Dub then went from the restroom over to the speakeasy that was in the restaurant. Dub recognized the young lady running the bar, it was KL's 'friend' who he'd protected on several occasions. Dub walked back out to the street and looked around. He spotted a street cop just walking down the sidewalk. Dub got his attention and the cop ran over to Dub. Dub led him back into the hotel and towards the speakeasy. Dub and the Cop busted through the doors and the cop flashed his badge to the room. People started scattering left and right to avoid being captured. Dub ran straight towards the young bartender and grabbed her. As the Cop was handcuffing a bar-goer on the floor, Dub dragged the young woman towards the cop and shot the cop in the back of the head. Then, shot the person the cop caught in the head as well... Dub handcuffed the young woman to the bar so she couldn't run. Dub then began smashing alcohol bottles allowing the liquid to scatter all over the rich wood of the bar, the ground and the walls... Dub looked at the woman and said, "Your boss has damned you to hell." the woman began crying uncontrollably. No one dared to enter the speakeasy even after the gunshots because they saw a cop go in and they didn't want to be convicted... Leaving Dub and the woman alone down in the speakeasy. Dub pulled out a box of matches that he got from the bathroom... He struck the first one as the flame ignited on the tip of the match and Dub stared into the flame. The young woman pleaded and begged for her life. Dub dropped the match but quickly pulled the woman out of the speakeasy and into the lobby. Many onlookers looked at Dub as he dragged the woman into the lobby and out into the streets. Before he left the building, Dub yelled, "Hurry! There's a fire down there! We need to put it out!" Everyone scrambles grabbing buckets but Dub knew they wouldn't put it out because it was now a raging alcohol fire. Smoke was already pouring out of the restaurant making it hard for anyone to enter. Dub exited the hotel as everyone was still hurrying for their buckets. He put the girl down on her knees right in front of the doors to the hotel and put a bullet in her head. Her lifeless body fell onto the concrete sidewalk and her dark crimson blood began to cover the chalky white sidewalk. Dub sprinted down the street turning in and out of every alleyway he could see to lose anyone that may have been following him in a maze of alleys.
Dub made it to his car and started the ignition and began driving to the airport. It took Dub about 20 minutes to get to the airport. He pulled up by the doors and rushed in. A worker stopped him and said that his car would be taken if he remained parked there. Dub tossed the keys to the man and said, "It's all yours." Surely Dub knew the license plate was tagged so that was now his problem and no longer Dub's. Dub ran inside and bought a ticket to an exotic island nation and held the ticket close to his chest so no one would know where he was going. Dub quickly began to become very paranoid. His plane was leaving in a matter of minutes because Dub bought the first plane that was leaving. He rushed through the security smoothly, the workers had not reached news of a murder or a suspect yet. Dub boarded the plane and headed to his final destination where he would lay low for the rest of his life. Maybe live in a beachside hut miles away from any other civilization... He was safe. And he got the final laugh. For he knew that KL was now down 150k, a grand hotel, and a lover who, if she was really his lover, would've meant more to him than any sum of money.
Dub had won, at least in his mind... |

Anton walked into Koehler's office in Evolution's HQ. Anton is here to report of his findings. "Yeap, idiot is in Bahamas right now. Saw him got into the plane myself. By the way your plan worked, Insurance company will be paying for KL's hotel, 3 times the initial amount he put in." Koehler gives Anton a smirk and pours him a drink. "What about the woman and the cop who was killed on the spot?" Anton took a sip of his drink and continue on. "I visited KL in the slammer and he told me, he really cared about her but it is just another one of his mistress. He will get over it." As Anton finishes, Scratchy came into the room whisper something into Anton's ear. "Yeap, and now the dead cop is no trouble as well." Koehler gives a skeptical look when he hears Anton's answer. "We followed your advice, paid off the D.A and the investigators for this case, he will be hosting a news conference today, indicating that the cop was going after the 'guy' who shot the chick outside. A gun fight broke out in the kitchen and a bullet found it's way into the gas line hence the fire. Two 'witnesses' has already went ahead and gave new statements. The cop will be awarded a medal posthumously and KL is due to be release this afternoon." Anton sipped on his drink and thought to himself. Koehler may be a drunk sometimes but he does have some great ideas in that brain of his. |

[OOC: C'mon. I really wanted KL to respond first considering this was originally just us. Also you must have some high-tech satellites and a tracking device on me to know where I am at all times...]
Dubliner sat on his private beach sipping his drink. He thought to himself, "Where do mobsters usually go to retire? Miami? Cuba? Bahamas? Not me... I go to Kangaroo Island. Literally no one would expect me to be here... I mean NO ONE." Dub landed in Sydney, Australia, and hired an independent boatman to ferry him all the way out there... It was a terrifying experience... He was now a part of a small village of people that numbered about 50. Everyone knew everyone which made Dub feel safer knowing he could spot an outsider in a 'crowd'. This was his paradise. Knowing he escaped and murdered the only love of KL's life. KL never struck Dub as a man to have many mistresses. He struck Dub as a one and done kind of guy, but only KL would know that...
Dubliner found out that the hotel was covered in the event of a fire by paying a nice, friendly visit to the local insurance agency after he left KL's office. Dub had arranged for the money to be wired to an account that was "recently opened by his boss, KL." when really it was a fake account Dub had made earlier... The agency bought it... It would be even more of a slap in the face when KL found out that all of the insurance money would go to Dubliner's fake account and immediately be transferred to another offshore account that Dub created in Australia. How else would Dub fund this last minute vacation? KL was now left without money, a legitimate job, and a love. Officials working for KL would try and pin this on a gas leak due to a "bulletstorm occurring in the kitchen between the shooter and the cop," However, upon further investigation by the arson unit, they would only find 2 bullet holes and 2 casings... Thus telling them that only 2 shots were fired both of which hit the cop and a victim who was laying right beside the cop's unidentifiable body... Upon even further investigation into the cause of the fire, police would question some workers of the hotel. The worker who greets people at the door mentioned a man who came into the hotel and straight to the bathroom for maybe 5 seconds then went straight to the restaurant. The police later found a matchbox laying on the sidewalk just outside of the hotel which they said was used to start the fire. The Arson Unit also found out what the fuel to the fire was. The Arson Unit came to the conclusion that the fire was started with alcohol. It was an alcohol fire, which they concluded due to a faint smell of alcohol resonating in the air, as well as the damage caused by the fire to the wood throughout the building. It was extremely intense and didn't smell like gasoline at all. To further prove it wasn't a gas leak, they inspected the gas lines and saw no damage to them, save some burns to the pipes. To find out if the alcohol was connected to KL's business or brought in by the suspect, the police questioned several workers, any witnesses to the fire, and the parents of the woman who was found dead outside on the sidewalk. One of those who were questioned gave an interesting interrogation... Stanley, father to the woman who was killed in front of the hotel, mentioned that KL had recently hired her to be the bartender for him. Stanley also mentioned that KL had a relationship of sorts with his daughter... Police then had a clear suspect to the murder and the fire: KL.
It appeared to be a crime of passion and an attempt to gain money from his insurance policy. Koehler tried to say that KL was with him in Giuseppe's Diner at the time of the fire and the murder, however, when Police asked Giuseppe, he denied it. Saying he had never seen the two men before. (As previously stated, Dubliner had paid everyone off in the diner...)
Stanley was angry with KL. Stanley trusted KL to protect his daughter, but KL failed him and actually appeared to have killed her... Stanley revealed that KL had been selling alcohol out of a speakeasy in the hotel. This incriminated KL and the police put him away for selling booze, suspicion of murder, and suspicion of arson... Searching through the rubble of the fire, police also managed to find accounting books hidden in KL's damaged desk. The books showed exchanges in money between KL and a man named Koehler. Koehler would now be under investigation as well...
Dubliner also knew that nothing would be traced back to him. Only KL would know that it was Dub who committed the act but KL couldn't provide an accurate location as to where Dub was. No bank notes could be tracked, no one saw him, and no one knew where he could've been. Police would, however, investigate Dub's house. Upon investigating his home, police found a trashed house with the words, "O'Leary Boys Are Comin' For Ya" which turned the police's attention towards an underground group named O'Leary Boys (Which Dub had created to throw KL off his trail, but never used it.) as a secondary suspect for the arson but not the murder. Only problem was, absolutely no one the police questioned had ever heard of the O'Leary Boys... Which brought all the attention back on KL.
Without proper evidence to prove KL's innocence other than the continuous pointing towards a man named The Dubliner who no one knew the whereabouts of, KL was sentenced to life. His charges were read to him: "Selling of alcohol, Arson, Murder, and Racketeering." Life in prison.
Hearing of KL's life sentence, Dub was able to relax even further. However, he knew he would always be a wanted man by Koehler and his crew, so he had to remain in his small village of 50 people and always keep a weary eye out for strangers. |

Sitting in my cell I began thinking about a lot of things...I had a hearing coming up and with the family connections I knew I would get off. The sentence wasn't my problem, Dubliner was... he had crossed a line he should had never crossed. He shot a innocent women...a women whom I cared for. The hotel took minor damage to the bar so getting it back up and running was no problem. Still one thing was on my mind and that was to Find and decapitate Dubliner and put his head in my office. Koehler managed to get me him and Anton a private meeting inside prison, they were my visitors but we had "special treatment". While in the meeting I put my head down slightly as the incident with Lily made me a much colder and broken man... there was no remorse. I begin to explain to the two. "Koehler, Anton... you know I respect you both... id do anything for this family and my loyalty is here until my time comes... but you need to understand that that bar... the sentence... means shit, its Lily she meant something to me. I look up at both of them with a face of anger like never before. "Lily was pregnant with my child...I was going to announce this but Dub took that away from me... he crossed the fucking line. The hotel will live on the restaurant Scratchy still owns it so have him remodel as he sees fit...Seeyara is still the assistant manager and Matteo... he is still head of security." I pause then slam down on the table a few times with a look of rage as I look up again into both of there eyes. "I want Dubliner's head, I don't care what I have to do...I WANT HIM GONE. As I pick up a chair and throw it across the room the guards have no choice but to restrain me. |

It has been weeks since KL been in a slammer. Matteo has been in charge of the Elegance, and few times he has been asked by cops. Few times too he dodged them. These days, Matteo is throwing himself in the street, picking up information about the crazy coon ass who had made the hell. He has been in sleepless nights. His body is all bone now. His eyes are blackened because of the lack of sleep and nutritions. Nothing though, no information whatsoever about Dub that has been known by him. He did play this one beautifully, hitting us out of places. However, all he did is suicide. He got a family here. What he did means that he did it in the name of his family. This could be war.
"Brat" Matteo visited the slammer where KL is. KL notices this walks closer to him. "I haven't been able to locate him" Matteo said in a weak tone.
"But I will" Matteo stops KL from sighing. "I will break his knees so he won't be able to escape as a rat he is, I will also pull out all of his teeth wo he can't say like a dog he is, but what I won't do is kill him." "He is your kill"
Matteo leaves the slammer after he puts some dough on the cop's pocket. |
