Hello, folks. I'd like to rant today on something I have seen lately. I have noticed that folks have been coming out to share their stories a lot recently. I have no problem with that, because I am one of those people. I enjoy reading of the tales of heroism (or whatever you have a desire to call it) that we have to share. The only problems I have are with the way it is presented by some people.

For example, everyone knows the series called 'The Cocaine Deal', or 'The Drug Deal'. I know it is something along those lines. It has been posted in different threads, like 'The Coke Deal, Pt. 1' and 'The Coke Deal, Pt. 2'. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I can easily think of another example.

Don Kates recently said something that I realized I believe along the lines of. The people who write these stories in 'parts' are basically starting at one street corner, taking a breath, and running to another damn corner. I just don't believe that is the right way to do it. I do not want, nor need, to offend somebody, but I think that, for all sakes and purposes, that it would be so much easier to tell your story all at one street corner, so it isn't so difficult to follow.

After listening to Fever's speech, she decided to once again, put in her "Two Cents".

I think that the reason why people put their stories into different parts is because not alot of people want to stand around and hear a long story that will take 20 minutes to listen to. I think breaking them up in parts, is a away to keep people comming back, and curious about what is going to happen next. So personally I don't think anything is wrong with having a "Part 1" and a "Part 2" ect...But that's just my opinion.

A good point, Mr. Fever. I have some other thoughts on story writers that I will be discussing later. It has also seemed blatantly obvious, to me at least, that different people come to the streets for different reasons. Some come to do a job. Some come, oddly, to tell story after story. Some come for good debate. But there are always those who appear in the streets just for the sake of being there, and to be able to say "Oh, I've started x amount of conversations" when, in reality, they've just unnecessarily broken up one discussion into many parts.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience that you found with us splitting up the story of Cocaine deal. Tony and i will now make one more forum and put all the parts from 3 to 7 on there. I hope all of you will feel much better with us doing this.

I agree with everyone here,Yes it is interesting when you make a part one and part two,but its spamming the streets as well ... You can carry on in one story on the same corner ... Thats my Opinion ... I do it both ways ... sometimes,like Don Kates, "A tale of Two Sisters" Is a very good story,but its hard to keep up ... You can forget where you were at if say you had to go somewhere and get out of the streets,you look back and try to find your place ... So sometimes its kind of helpful to go to different corners ... But whats harder is going page after page looking for a part One or Part Two of a certain story ... That's just my opinion ...

Personally I prefer long stories told at once, it keeps me more focused on the story than these corner jumpers. I usually forgot what happened in "part one" when they start telling the next part on another corner. I enjoy a good story and I often listen to some. If a story is good and the story teller aswell I don't run off to snatch a purse or knock over some stores, these things can wait. And also, when a story is good 20 minutes isn't long enough. Well, SororitySister, there is a thing as "taking a breath" between speaking. But you don't have to move the rest of the story to a new street corner, but simply continue with the corner you're on.

Plus, taking a breath will allow people to respond to the story, up to where it is, and give you the opportunity to listen to their criticisms before continuing with the story.

I guess if there was a break in the stories then maybe it would be reasonable to write a new one but if on the other hand its a day later maybe it should be placed in the original as it saves other speeches being pushed down that may be interesting to those not wanting to read an RP.

if you ask me they should have a story circle area and stay off the freaken streets but has far has telling it in parts ive read one or to like that was annoyed because i wanted to know the rest so bad but i shur didn wanna listen to something that take me a year to hear so i like when they break it up
