A Quiet Stroll Started by: Hawke on Sep 04, '15 15:17

It was just another normal day for Hawke and Honey. Business for the two had been slow, allowing Hawke some time to recover from his recent run-in that had left him with a nice new scar on his side. Although he technically wasn't supposed to be moving around much, Honey needed exercise, and so Hawke walked along down main street with the Bengal tiger at his side, her heavy pants and occasional grunts filling the air as they went.

This was one of their shorter routes, as Hawke kept in mind that he couldn't go as far as he usually could. They'd go for about half a mile, then loop around a couple of diners, maybe stop for late breakfast, and then head on home. It kept them away from most of the dangerous parts of town, but allowed for ample stimulation for the wilder of the two. As they neared a corner, Honey tugged on her leash a bit, which was normal, so Hawke didn't think anything of it.

That was, until he ran right into a young woman who seemed to be leaping with joy, and stumbled backwards, nearly falling onto the ground. Luckily, Honey moved behind him to brace his fall with her huge body, grunting out a surprised "mrow" as most of Hawke's weight leaned on her. When he caught his footing, he re-arranged his hat, which had gone askew, and turned to look at the woman.

"Whoa, hey--you alright?" He asked with a tinge of worry. He didn't know if it'd been him or the woman at fault.

Seeyara went to the local post to check her mails. She got plenty of them and mostly are from CloverLuxille either giving her instruction that she already heard a million times or just simply making her day hell. She ignored all of her mails and decided to get through them later that day. She needed to get away from her evil shadow and stinky smell once in a while. Scanning from her other mails, she noticed a white envelope coming from one of the mafia head.

"What have I done?" She frowned while mumbling. Nervous of what she had done, she stopped at the corner of the street to open the letter. Her eyes grew bigger once she finish reading the content of the letter. Her happiness is overflowing.

"I can't believe this! I won! I won!" She screams on top of her lungs. Still not getting over it, she runs, jumps, turn around still screaming that she won when suddenly she bumped into something hard. She'd lost her balance and stumble on the ground.

"Arggghh" All Seeyara could say after her butt touched the hard ground.

"Whoa, hey--you alright?" She heard a voice of a man.

"Oh yeah, falling on the ground real hard is fun, so I am alright, very fine." Seeyara answered sarcastically without looking at the man. When she was able to stand up, she fixed her dress and took her mails that was scattered on the ground then face the man.

"You see, sometimes you have to..." Seeyara was lost of words when she saw the man, looking at her intently. "I didn't know a face like of gods still exist in this world!" She thinks out loud.

"Oh yeah, falling on the ground real hard is fun, so I am alright, very fine."

Her sarcastic reply made Hawke recoil a bit, but he offered a hand to her anyway. She didn't turn to look at him, so he relaxed, stepping back a little and letting Honey move out from behind him. She stood at his side, watching the woman intently, hackles slightly raised. She was a new person, and she didn't know her, so she could be a threat. However, Hawke soon motioned for her to relax, and she sat next to him, panting.

When she started to speak again, he braced himself for scathing words, but then -- a compliment? At least, it sounded like one. His wide, olive-green eyes blinked twice, before he could respond to that. "Well -- uh -- thank you." Smooth, Hawke was not, but he managed to recover from the stutter and ask;

"So, where's a pretty lady like you rushing off to so fast?"

"Thank you? Where am I rushing off? So fast?" Seeyara asked unconsciously still amazed of the view in front of her. Her eyes widened when she realized what she had done and said, so she removed her gaze from the man she isn't familiar of to hide her red face.

"Stupid Seeyara, very stupid" She whispered to herself.

"Oh you know, your pet has a look like those gods, the greek gods. Yeah that's it." Seeyara said smiling at the man trying to convince him then look at his pet, "Ah. Such a cutie"

"Anyway, I am sorry if I bumped into you. It was really an accident. You see, I have won..." Seeyara stopped as she remembers not to tell anyone about it. She can't trust him at all. "Well, what I am saying is, I have won tons of chocolate and had them for breakfast. Yeah, that's right" Seeyara continued.

Hawke blinked twice again as she seemed to talk to herself, tilting his head slightly in question. Honey mimicked him, tilting her head a bit as she stared at the woman with wide, unblinking amber eyes. Once she tried to convince him that she was talking about Honey, Hawke gave a soft chuckle, not really believing that but deciding to accept it.

"She is a pretty thing, isn't she?" He gave Honey a gentle pat on the side, and she rubbed her head against his waist, "moo"-ing softly. Though he realized it was a ruse, he'd take any chance to talk about how great she was.

After she explained why she was taking off so fast, Hawke nodded. He didn't quite believe that either, but she likely had her reasons not to tell him, even if it did raise his hackles a bit. He rolled his shoulders in response. "Lucky day for you then, Miss..." He extended his hand again for a shake. "May I have your name?"

Seeyara smiled, bit her lips and nodded. "Yes, she is pretty." She once again looked at the man and stared at his mesmerizing olive-green eyes dreamily until his voice returned her into reality.

"Yes, seems like it is my lucky day today. And oh, I am sorry about my unethical gesture." She wiped her hands with her pink handkerchief before she shook hands with Mr. Olive-Green-eyes. "My name is Seeyara. I lived in the Northern part of Chicago. How about you? New around here?"

Report Post Tip

"It's no problem Miss Seeyara." Seeyara. The name was different, but had a pretty ring to it. Something like his own; odd, and something you didn't hear every day. "A name as pretty as your face, I see." He gave a polite smile, then straightened up to answer her question.

"The name's Hawke. I wouldn't say I'm new around here, though I'm certainly not native. I'm from the North Side of Chicago too -- what a coincidence, eh?" Hawke gave another smile. "But I've lived here for about three years."

Report Post Tip

Seeyara laughed graciously after hearing those flattering words. "Thank you Mr. Hawke. Your name suits a handsome man like you." Seeyara smiled sweetly at him showing her little dimples on both cheeks.

"What a coincidence! We lived in the same city for a long time but we only encountered now. Could be because I prefer to stay in the headquarters" Seeyara stepped aside when she noticed that they've been blocking the street for quite sometime.

"Oh, I think I am consuming your time. You must have an important matter to do" Seeyara said apologetically but hoping that she is wrong and that he will stay for a while.

Report Post Tip

At the sweet smile, Hawke's lips turned up a bit. She certainly was something to look at...and perhaps more, if their past words meant anything. He wondered what she might be hiding, and why exactly she'd been in such a hurry.

"It sure is strange how people bump into each other, hmm?" Noticing her step aside, Hawke did the same, and at her last statement, he shrugged.

"I'm not really doing anything, actually. I was just taking Honey here for a quick walk." He motioned to the tiger, who chuffled when her name was mentioned.

"Indeed strange. We will never know who we meet each day." Seeyara looked at Mr. Hawke. She flipped her hair and looked away as she continue.

"Same as mine, I am just strolling around, went to the local post, grabbed my mails and planning to have lunch around the corner" She said pointing to the local restaurant she's referring to.

Seeyara placed all her mails inside her purse, fixed her hat and looked at Mr. Hawke. "So Mister, I hope to see you around and your cute tiger again. I am pretty hungry so I got to go. Nice to meet you." Seeyara smiled and extended her hand for another hand shake.

Report Post Tip

Hawke took her hand for the second shake, and then paused after letting go, his eyes following from her to the restaurant she'd pointed to. He knew the owner of that shop pretty well, and he'd let Honey in along with Hawke, as long as she didn't cause any trouble.

"Yeah...say, is it really that late for lunch?" He mused aloud. "Mm...I was planning to wait for the end of our walk, but if you don't mind, could Honey and I join you?" Hawke didn't want to lose track of this girl, and so far all he had was her first name, which, as far as he knew, could be an alias.

Report Post Tip

Seeyara turned her back and walked elegantly towards the restaurant when she heard Mr. Hawke's invitation. She stopped walking and was thinking if she could trust him. Well it will only be lunch and nothing more. Plus this will give her time to know him well, and if he is a threat, she will not hesitate to pull a trigger into his head and then she will keep the tiger to scare CloverLuxille. If he isn't a threat at all, she could use him as a partner in her crimes. Realizing that the man could be use for her benefit, she looked back and gave him her sweetest smile.

"I don't mind at all but I am not sure if your tiger will be allowed inside. I am not quite familiar of the owner of that restaurant." She answered worriedly while looking at Honey who is panting.

Report Post Tip

Hawke leans down to give Honey a pat again when she was mentioned. She chuffled again happily at the attention, bumping her head against Hawke's hip. "It'll be alright. I know the guy who owns the joint, he an' his son are real fond of Honey. We stopped a robbery there, y'know." It was true; some small-time thug came in and tried to rob the joint at gunpoint, but Honey, being a cat of ambush, was quick to sink her fangs into the back of his head. Had the cops not arrived when they did, the guy would most certainly have been dead. It earned them a seat of honor at the front of the restaurant.

"I even get a discount when I go, so if you'd like, I can pay for the meal?" He caught up to Seeyara, giving an easy grin. The best thing he could do right now was give her a good impression, even if he was a bit tight on money at the moment; feeding a six-hundred pound cat who could easily eat forty pounds of meat a day was not cheap.

"Oh Mr. Hawke! You're such a hero!" Seeyara covers her mouth in shocked then slowly put them down. Touched by his invitation, she laughed softly, slightly covering her mouth with his left back hand while her right is waving in mid air. "You are such a gentleman, how could I reject such a sweet invitation". It seems to be a lucky day for Seeyara, right now, she only has 10 cents on her purse due to too much shopping the other day, yesterday and early today. She make a mental note to get her million winnings later today and promised her self to save more, well she always break that promise though.

"So shall we? My little pet inside is growling." Seeyara then went beside the tiger. "She won't bite me, right?" She asked nervously looking at the two."

Report Post Tip

Hawke gave a soft chuckle at her words, shrugging. "I wouldn't call myself a hero. I was just in the right place at the right time." He strode along side her easily, matching her steps as they walked along. "Yeah, let's hurry and get there. They have nice daily specials."

At her question about Honey, Hawke shook his head. "Nope. She won't bite you, unless you stick your hand in her mouth." Honey chuffled again in response.

Report Post Tip

Seeyara tugged her hair as she speaks. "It doesn't change the fact that you help them instead of walking away. I still consider that heroic." Seeyara winked at Mr. Hawke. As they walked slowly, Seeyara laughed at Honey's biting issue. "How did you tame a tiger like her, she looked scary though she is cute as well". She once again asked while they crossed the streets. They reached the food house in no time then seat on the table outside instead.

"I think this is the better place, we can eat while having a nice view of the city". Mr. Hawke nodded and smiled at Seeyara. He pushed the chair for her, like a true gentleman, for her to sit conveniently, then let Honey sit on the side before seating in front of her. "Thank you." Seeyara smiled at his sweet gesture.

After the two of them had sat down, Hawke ordered a water for himself, not in the mood for alcohol or anything else. Honey sat delicately beside him, laying down and resting her head on her huge paws. To answer her question, Hawke said, "Well, I basically raised her from a baby. She kinda sees me as her...father, I guess." He shrugged. "It took a lot of work to get her to where she is now."

He tipped his glass of water towards her in a mock-toast, before taking a sip and looking back at her. "So, do you live close around here?"

Report Post Tip

Seeyara asked for a cup of americano because she really loves coffee. She looked at Honey resting beside her boss before answering. "Yes. I do live near here. A few blocks away." Seeyara gestured and gave Mr. Hawke a sweet smile before sipping her coffee. Her eyes suddenly caught a man who is confidently standing on the dark alley while leaning his back on the wall. Seeyara's eyes widened then turned into a sharp stare.

"Damn! He is here huh!" Seeyara hissed then put her cup down on the table violently spilling some of her coffee that made Mr. Hawke looked at her in shock and with a questioning eyes. Seeing his reaction, Seeyara suddenly realized her outburst.

"Eh. Hehe." She laughed awkwardly. "Oh. Mr. Hawke, I am...uh...uhm...uh..." Seeyara mumbled while finding the right words to say.
She looked at Mr. Hawke who seems puzzled then at the man who still stood on the alley.
"I need to uhm...go to the comfort room. Yeah, I will be right back" Seeyara stood up and ran leaving Mr. Hawke sitting and unable to say a word.

Seeyara entered the restaurant then went out using the back door. She approached the man by a surprise kick on his head.

"Where is he?" She asked while punching and kicking him nonstop. The man couldn't response properly, the pain feels like hell. He didn't know that this lady, who look angelic, could kill.

"I am working on it. I will get him." He muttered softly and looked at Seeyara with a pleading look. Seeyara smirked. "Oh dear, I've spent millions and still got nothing from you." Seeyara said as she slam the man on the wall. "It has been months, and it seems you are hiding from me." Seeyara continued while looking at the almost lifeless man. "I am giving you 24hours. Get him. You know, you can't hide from me forever." Seeyara said then pointed a finger gun at the man's head before she gave her last words. "If you fail, then, Boom." The man nodded then ran as fast as he could and was gone. Seeyara decided to return to the restaurant but was surprised to see Mr. Hawke standing at the end of the alley, looking at her intently.
