As the late afternoon sun started to peak through the window, Chun-Li looked up at the clock, and thought damn, it's getting late. Hours had passed since she'd sat down at her desk, sorting through the various tasks that always competed for her attention. She stood up and stretched, then walked to the window, her boots barely audible as she crossed the floor to gaze out at the town. The leaves would be starting to turn Chun thought, then remembered she wasn't in NJ anymore but in Vegas, where there were lots palm trees instead of maples. Cactus's and lots and lots of sand. Fall was always her favorite time of year and this would be her first fall that was void of the splendid colors and crisp air, scented with wood smoke, a sure sign that winter wasn't far away. She watched for a bit as people milled about the streets, selling goods, chatting with friends, or just out enjoying the fine weather. As she watched, Chun-Li recalled another fall day quite a few years back when she'd met her best pal Mousey. At that time, she was like any other mafioso just starting out. Competing for jobs, while she looked for a family willing to take her in. Chun-Li didn't mind working alone. She rather enjoyed her own company, when her sons's zwei and Boozer weren't kicking around somewhere. Zwei was one of a kind, or so she thought. As she thought of her youngest child, her lips twitched with a hint of a smile. He acted as if she needed a protector, never far away if she needed something or there was trouble brewing. Unlike Boozer who preferred the bottle over fighting, or god forbid he had to protect himself and kill someone, the sight of blood had him pale as a ghost and puking on the nearest dead body or bucket. Zwei seemed to enjoy a good fight, seemed to thrive on it, the gleam in his eyes at the thought of drawing blood, bordered on psychotic. His love of animals was the one thing that kept Chun from worrying that her son had gone completely over the edge. one evening Chun-Li tried to slip out of the shack she and her sons temporarily called home to take a walk to the local coffee shop. She didn't have hired protection at the time and sensed Zwei was several paces behind her. Damn. "You might as well walk with me, since you insist on coming along." "Sorry Ma, you shouldn't be out here alone." She wanted to remind him that she could hold her own if trouble arose, but he knew it, so it would only fall on deaf ears. He'd just tag along anyway always a safe distance behind, giving her space, yet always near to lend a hand if needed. Several blocks into their walk, she thought she heard noises from the ally they were approaching. She slowed Zwei with her hand as they stopped and listened a moment. They slowly crept up to an abandoned building, and took a peek around the corner. Sure enough, there was a fight going down. Not unusual considering this part of the city wasn't the greatest, especially at night when all kinds of "rodents" crawled out of their caves, to do any illegal activity imaginable. The unusual thing was seeing a young woman straddled over a guy pounding his face to a bloody pulp as three others were creeping around the shadows towards her. Chun saw the woman shift, reach into her boot, at the same time she heard an "hmm," and turned in time to see Zwei run at one of the men and catch the knife the woman threw and with an underhand motion, plunge it into the groin of one of the men. Chun winced slightly as she silently ran toward another of the womans attackers and landed a solid round house kick to the mans temple. Now that the odds were a bit more even, the fun soon ended. As the three of them stood there surveying the bloody mess they'd made of the men, without a word they turned and started to walk a way when the woman turned back and headed towards one of the men. She bent to retrieve her knife, and as she stood, she grabbed a fist full of the mans hair and proceeded to shave it off along with a chunk of his scalp. As she walked back towards us, she kicked another in the face with enough force that we could hear the bones crack. Chun heard Zwei chuckle and mumble "my kind of woman." Chun-Li looked at the woman, kind of petiet, her blond hair falling out of the tail she'd had it in. she recognized the manic look in those brown eyes, the same look she often saw in her son. "Are you all right?" Looking slightly offended, the woman answered "yeah, why wouldn't I be? I could have taken those fucktards without your help, but thanks. People call me Mousey" Chun raised a finely shaped brow, then laughed as she introduced herself and her son. It didn't escape her notice that her son was looking somewhat dumbfounded as he stared at Mousey which seemed to annoy her. "you keep looking at me like that, I'll gouge your eyes out with this knife i just pulled out of that mans ball sack." A few seconds later Mousey was in front of Zwei, as she looked him in the eye, she grabbed him by the shirt pulling him close, and with her eyes still on his, cleaned her knife on the bottom of his shirt. To his credit, he didnt bat an eyelash. Mousey bent to return the knife to her boot, then the three of them walked back towards the shack, and that was the beginning of our association with the young woman called Mousey. Chun-Li snapped back to reality as Zwei stuck his head through the door to remind her of the time. They had planned a night out at the local tavern. She was sure it would be an interesting evening. With Zwei and Mousey, you could never be sure what was gonna happen. |

Mousey was a lot of things. She was loyal, silent, stubborn, defensive, and even considered crazy. She never used to be crazy really. But living on the streets of Las Vegas and growing up as she had as a kid, well… she tended to act a lot different towards people then someone who was raised with actual social skills. You could always tell by the look in her eyes and how she cocked her head, how she thought about something. She was a very curious person and while it could get some people in trouble, Mousey, as people called her, never seemed to get caught at anything. It was very rare for someone to find and catch her in the act of something if she didn’t want to be found. In fact, Mousey wasn’t even her real name. Tomasa Rousseau was the name ‘Mousey’ was born with. Albeit her quiet mouse-like nature earned her the nickname ‘Mousey’; because, most of the time she was as quiet as a mouse when arriving to get some work done or just in overall. That is, until a fateful day during her ‘usual’ trouble wrecking days, that Mousey happened to have an encounter in an alleyway where she met Chun and her son Zwei. Ever since then she’s always had Zwei and Chun’s backs. Helping them out with just about anything due to that simple meeting, because for the first time in her life…. Mousey had people she could count on to have her back in a fight.
That was about a year or so ago though. Now life here in Las Vegas couldn’t get better. She was currently sitting at a table in a shadowed corned within a Tavern, sipping on her whiskey as she waited for Chun to arrive. They had planned for the three of them meet up here for a night out on the town. It might have been some time since Chun set up her family here in Las Vegas, but they had made their mark along with the others in the city. |

When I hear the term ice the first thing that comes to mind is the all so ever term "It is so quiet I can hear a mouse piss." Does this fit in to the punch line? |

Altair was on the rooftops watching from above as he sees 3 drunk people that looked oddly familiar to him. He sees this random chump walk up to Chun-Li and mention something talking some gibberish about mouse piss and it being quiet. "Always has to be at least one person." he thought to himself as the idiot walked away. He makes a mental note of the guys appearance, and then resumes his job of over watch from above. |
