So there I was, sitting in my empty headquarters bar. By now it was 3 or maybe 4 in the morning and, by my last count, 6 glasses of scotch down. Needless to say I was feeling quite drunk and I needed a place to rest. My apartment was only a couple blocks away so I decided to walk. I staggered out of my headquarters and started walking in the direction of my apartment. But as I walked around the corner two men wielding baseball bats jumped out of an alley and stuck me in the gut. I fell hard and they started beating me relentlessly. When they had their fill, one man slipped a black sack over my head and threw me into a car.

They drove in complete silence for what seemed like hours. Finally I was thrown out of the car, dragged into a building, down some stairs, and then tied to a chair. For a long time I sat there in silence trying to pick up on the sounds around me. I could hear little tings from the ceiling, probably rats, and shuffling of feet. From what I could guess I was in the basement of a warehouse somewhere in Philly. At long last I heard the creaking of a door and footsteps getting closer. The bag was thrown from my head and I took a hard look at the man in front of me.

I recognized him almost immediately; his name was Caleb, he was the leader of a low level gang that worked out of Philly. The gang had caused problems before but they have never threatened a member of the mob, till now. I opened my mouth to speak but before I could his hand swung down upon my face.

"Don't speak unless I tell you to," he said to me in a deep grizzly voice. I sit up straight in the chair feeling the warm blood run down my face and spit directly into his face. He takes a moment to wipe the spit from his face and backhands me again.

"You stupid bastard. Whom do you think you're dealing with!" he screams at me. I start laughing despite the pain in my face, "You have no idea what your doing do you?" I could see the anger in his face as he turned and took a few steps away from me. With his back turned he snapped his fingers and a man to my right pulls a gun. Without hesitation he shoots me in my kneecap, the pain was unbelievable. My whole body was telling me to scream out in pain, but I hold back. I don't want to give this guy the satisfaction that he hurt me.

"What's the problem Caleb, stomach can't handle someone being shot? And here I thought we were having such a nice conversation."

He turned back towards me and said; "Despite your cavalier manner I can see the pain in your eyes. So why don't you be a good little boy and scream." As he said this he put his finger in the gunshot wound and twisted. The pain was on the boarder line of unbearable, but the words of the Godfather were brought to my mind.

"No matter what they say, No matter what they do, Never show pain, Never show mercy."

He twisted and twisted digging deeper and deeper into my wound. But I never once made a sound. I sat there with an expression that would scare a bear. He kept twisting making the pain get worse and worse until I said, "Come on man just a little bit farther....ahhh yes! Thanks man I could never get that itch before."

He pulled his finger out of my knee and screamed in rage. He reached back his hand about to slap me again but before his hand reached my face I kicked my legs into his stomach and threw my back onto the cold cement breaking the back of the chair and three of my fingers. I grabbed the bottom of the broken chair just in time to stop a bullet from going right through my head. I threw the chair in the direction of the shooter and rushed the only other man in the room. Luckily the man wasn't as quick on the up take as the shooter was and he still hadn't drawn his gun when I got to him. I punched him hard in the face and stripped his gun from its holster. Cocking the gun I fired one shot into his bleeding face and turned to shoot the man that had tried to shoot me. He was just regaining his balance from the chair attack when I fired three rounds into his chest dropping him like a sack of potatoes.

I slowly walked over to a sad, scared pile of meat and bones that was cowering on the floor. I stood over top of him and pulled him up by his collar so his head was a couple of inches off the ground. I reached my gun back and pistol-whipped him again and again and again drawing blood from his mouth and nose. After I was satisfied I pulled him up to his feet and turned him around putting my gun to the back of his head.

"Well Caleb, how does it feel to have the shoe on the other foot? Now we are going to walk out of here nice and slow."

I push him forward with the barrel of my gun and he starts walking out the door and up the stairs to the main floor. As I expected the main floor was littered with gang members all of whom were carrying at least one gun. We enter the room and everyone turns and pulls their guns aiming at me.

"Everyone put your guns on the ground and get into the basement or your leader will be having lead for dinner!"

No one moves so I press the gun harder into the back of Caleb's skull.

"For gods sake do what the man says," he whimpers

Everyone grudgingly sets down their weapons and funnels into the basement. As they pass by me one of the men catches my eye. It was the same man that I had scammed at the pool hall earlier that night. Finally all this nonsense is starting to make sense.

"You! Come over here now!"

He steps out of the line of men and stands a few feet from me waiting for what I do. Once all the men go down in the basement I tell the man, "Close the basement door, lock it, and come back or I'll blow your leaders head off." He walks to the door, closes it, locks it, and stands a few feet from me.

"Get on your knees you swine!" I yell at him.

He complies and closes his eyes waiting for the gun shot that he was sure was going to follow. I push Caleb onto the ground making him lie prone with his face in the cement. I then picked up one of the guns on the ground and pick Caleb back up. With my gun still trained on the back of his skull I hand him the other gun and say, "Shoot him."

He hesitates for a few seconds shaking worse now then before. I say again, "Shoot him NOW!" He points the gun at the man's bowed head and starts to cry.

"I...I can't, he's my son!" he says between sobs. Ahh now this all makes perfect sense. Now I understand why he would go through so much trouble.

I whisper in his ear, "Shoot him, or I will kill him and I promise you it will be much longer and filled with pain."

He starts crying even more now and I have to admit it's a little pathetic. He cocks back the gun and aims it at his son's head. But then he lowers his gun and sobs deeply. So I take the gun off the back of his head and in one swift movement I shoot his son in the right shoulder making him scream in pain.

I scream, "Now, Shoot HIM!" Caleb aims the gun again on his son's head and pulls the trigger. Caleb drops the gun and drops down to his knees crying deeply into his hands.

"My son, oh my god my beautiful son, what have I done!"

I take my gun and lower it to the back of his head and pull the trigger. He drops a just a few feet from his dead son, its almost poetic.

I walk out of the building and notice that I am indeed in the warehouse district of Philly. My apartment is too far to walk from here and in my current condition it would be impossible not to draw attention to myself. So I walk out into the street and stop the first car I see. I walk around to the back seat door and get in. I point my gun at the driver's head and say, "Drive!"

I give the driver turn by turn directions towards my apartment. When we get about a block from my apartment I say, "Pull over here." I get out of the car and tell the driver, "Forget what you saw here tonight, go back to your family and hug them tight. You have escaped death today." As the car peels off back in the direction we came, I start my walk towards my apartment. I reach my apartment go in to nurse my wounds and get some much needed rest.

Sitting down on my bed I say to myself, "Well that was such a buzz kill," and I pass out on my bed.
