Trust, effort dependability Started by: Knud on Sep 10, '09 04:50

Knud walks into the streets, collects himself then steps on an old beer crate and says out loud

What matters the most for a crew/crime family in a mobster

That you can trust him/his bloodline  the effort he presently makes or dependability he make not be super active but takes action when asked/ordered

Im asking cos it appears to me much weigth is placed on bloodline and past effort (which offcourse is natural and hardly avoidable) but i would like to hear some oppinions and hopefully have a discussion on the subject.

It should perhaps be mentioned that im fairly new to this world of crime, so im trying to grasp how things are functioning here.

Steps down sit in a nearby cafechair orders a beer, watching what happens

Linus looked at the man they called Knud, surrounded by bodyguards. As Knud finished his questions Linus stepped forward and began to speak.

"Fairly new to this world? Seeing the number of bodyguards surrounding you you must have some powerful enemies or friends."

Linus smiled at the angry looking bodyguards.

"Anyways, I think that history is important and so is our family history. We came from different backgrounds and we've been teached different things by our ancestors. It will, of course, always play a big role what our ancestors did or who they knew etc."

Linus took a little break to think.

"Then again, no matter from which background you came you should be judged on the present actions of your family line. You're not your father, gradfather whatever. You're an own person with own opinions and own goals. But as you already stated it, the background you have can hardly be avoided."

These are all good questions my friend. But what I personally want to know is why mafiosi in this here country don't hunt down and kill all relatives of their enemies when they get their guy so they can't come back and seek revenge like they did back where you and I came from.

Michelotto strokes his chin and sits down next to knud

Hands Michelotto and Linus a beer and gestures for Linus to sit also

I do indeed have great friends Linus and have had the luck and fortune to get into a crew that takes looking after their guys to a whole new level.

But im still very interested in what oppinions the members of this great community holds on the subject

Michael nods, slowly walks over to the box, and decides to say a few things in rather unassuming tone.

"Bloodlines are respected, and there is a reason for that. In this thing of ours, you give things to your family heads. Possessions, power, respect, these things are inherited in some respect. And even back in the country this whole thing got started in," Michael said, pointing eastward because he believes that's a slightly shorter trip to Europe from where he is sitting, "alliance are old. Sometimes older than generations of people."

"Now, Michelotto, you've got one hell of a point there. During the wars, it gets ugly, and vengeace happens hard and often. However, outside of war, most of the killing in these parts is punishment for something stupid," he then nodded. "And honestly, a lot of family isn't always sure who whacked them. Word doesn't always catch the next of kin, especially if the whack was deserved. If people in the poor dead bastard's family think he had it coming for being a moron, are they really gonna call a vendetta? No. They're gonna admit he was a stupid mook, cry at his funeral, and keep an eye on his kids. Why? Because even when you disagree with the men at the top, if your brother broke the rules and got whacked for it, you're not gonna go breaking the same rules, or try to rip apart the city with your bare hands. Nobody whacks a tiger in the face with a stick after it just ripped his uncle a new one. At least, nobody smart does."

Michael shrugs and sits down, ordering a coffe beside the other men, wondering if any other thoughts have occurred on this subject.
