An Outfit Tarnished. Started by: Cerebellum on Sep 30, '15 01:01

I don't know if it was the long dreadful car ride after Giovanni-Zizzo's funeral, or the fact that C.B. had buried two of his closest friends in the same day, but Cerebellum's mouth remained closed for most of the day..

See, C.B. had no one to blame for the loss of his friends other than his friends themselves.. One, decided it would best to try and solve a personal conflict with a western style showdown at high-noon. The other, took the easy way out when he felt all hope was lost.

But after countless questions from everyone he met, it was time he said something.. Getting back to his HQ, he stepped out of the Buick, and seen a crowed of gangsters, friends, family, and strangers a like, and a lot of them just wanted answers about what happened on that gloomy day...

Taking one last drag off his cigar, C.B. gained the attention of the crowd..

"Today, we are an Outfit that is tarnished. Like a fine wool coat that has been left unkempt for far to long, our fibers are frayed..."

With a gentle motion, Cerebellum herded Duke, and HenriDucard to his side...

"But as frayed as our fibers may be, tomorrow we go to the Tailor... and we make this Outfit anew."

With that said, Cerebellum started to ease his way into the HQ with Duke and Henri before he turned back one last time and said...

"Giovanni.. Death.. They will both be missed, but if you'll excuse me, there is business to be done."

The personal dispute with -Death had gotten heated a few hours before Cerebellum's street appearance. Both men had drawn their guns and had taken wild shots on one another, both bullets went flying into the rickety buildings behind them. Henri had gained his senses quickly and took more accurate aim, his heart thumping. It was tearing him up that it came to this and he didn't know how Cerebellum would react. The second bullet flying by his head snapped him out of his worries rather bluntly - and he sent a second shot back...

The world seemed to have gone in slow motion, all the sounds fading away from Henri's ears as he heard the dull thump of -Death's body hitting the ground. With a sullen look upon his face, Henri picked up the corpse and carried it back to the HQ to make preparations for the burial.

Now he was standing next to Cerebellum and Duke, about to re-enter the same HeadQuarters. Henri took a moment before going back inside the premises. The place wouldn't ever be the same, -Death and Gio had been around for quite some time and they would be dearly missed. Gio's departure wasn't nearly as...public. He had chosen to retire away from the life of crime - slipping into the shadows as Henri was so fond of, without a word to anyone. Many of the members around The Chicago Outfit were distraught, confused, and sad. It was to them that he now spoke.

"Fellow associates and Members of The Chicago Outfit... I'm sorry. It must be quite the adjustment seeing Duke and I standing side by side with Cerebellum as his new hands. I'm sorry for the confusion around the circumstances... But, with this apology comes a promise."

"A promise of better days to come. Our fearless leader has selected us knowing that we will give our all for you, and I hope you know that as well. The Chicago Outfit was tarnished today, and with absolute confidence I can say for the last time! Duke and I very much look forward to bringing this family into a better position than we've ever been in and we know you guys will help us. We love you, all of you. Cerebellum nor Duke nor myself would be anything without you."

With that Henri turned around and flopped down onto the steps of the aforementioned HQ, rubbing his temples and mulling over the numerous events of the past few days.
