"Your wrong about one thing!, power... you do have it you just haven't been in a situation to prove it to yourself. Trust me."

As the two are locked in conversation the bathroom door at the far end of the coffee shop opens rather quickly. Large boots hit the floor and the door closes behind JoeyOlbose. Rubbing his wet hands on his jeans Joey makes his way for the counter. A barista, young blonde haired girl, places a coffee on the counter to the right of the register and says, somewhat loudly as to combat the sounds of both music and chatter in the surprisingly busy store:

"Coffee, black, for Steven!"

Joey walks past, picks up the cup, and winks at the barista and shouts over his shoulder: "Thanks for the coffee "Steve"!"

Joey chuckles for himself as he makes his way towards the door, stopping with his hand on the handle as he notices Scratchy and Karmen at a table to his left. He smiles and walks over, loudly dragging a chair from another table over to the friendly faces.

"Fancy running into you two here! Karmen. KL. How are you both?"

Joey throws the seat down at the end of the table and has a seat.

*KL and Karmen...

"Hey Joey, I'm ok little problem with my meeting earlier but other then that things are good. Have you and Karmen met?."

Karmen smiled and said, "Yeah the power will come one day if I work for it!"

Just then, after taking a man's coffee off the counter that wasn't his, a man pulled up a seat at the table and she quickly recognized him as JoeyOlbose. She had seen him around Chicago a few times and they had spoke a couple random times but other than that she didn't really know him very well.

She gave him a warm smile and said, "Hey there. Yeah we've met a couple times, talked a couple times in passing. How are you Joey?"

"I'm alive and kicking Karmen! That is usually a pretty good way to start your day as far as Im concerned!"

Joey smiles kindly at Karmen before turning to look at KL with a very stern, serious look on his face. He takes a large gulp of the scalding hot coffee.

"A problem huh? Something I should be concerned about? Something you might need help with?"

"Good to hear, Joey! Alive and kicking is definitely the best!" She got up from her seat then continued, "I will be back shortly, okay? You guys chat away and get caught up and everything."

Joey smiles and nods at Karmen as she stands and walks away before turning his attention back to KL.

"So talk to me buddy, what's going on?"

"Ah, same old... little meeting about Some trouble I had with the Irish, no big deal it's taking care of. Anything new with you?."

Joey glances around the increasingly crowded shop before taking another large gulp of his coffee. He swallows noisily before setting the cup down on the table.

"Eh, I suppose it's best not to talk business here anyways..."

Joey grabs a napkin from the table and blows his nose. He crumples the napkin and throws it like a ball into the trash can a few feet away. He relaxes for a moment before he slaps his knees with his hands and stands quickly.

"I'd love to stay and chat longer but I'm unfortunately running a little behind for something... Gotta go see... A guy... About that thing..."

Joey trails off as he takes out his wallet and throws a fist-full of bills on the table.

"That oughta cover everything. Tell Karmen whatever she is getting is on me as well. It was good running into the two of you!"

Joey starts for the door before turning back quickly.

"Oh, I need to see you later by the way... Come by my office when you have a chance. See ya KL."

Its only a moment before the only sign that Joey was ever there is the coffe cup he left behind and the loud rumble of a bike outside, which quickly fades back to the music and small chat filling the coffee shop.

Karmen had had to get up suddenly because she spotted someone outside that she knew. After spending an hour catching up with one of her good friends from her younger years, and setting a girl's day with her in the near future, Karmen bid her goodbye and then made her way back inside the coffee shop to sit down again with Joey and KL. 

To her surprise, when she got inside, JoeyOlbose was already gone and KL was left sitting by himself at the table. She was surprised he was still sitting there an hour later and wondered when he would be making his way home or wherever. She walked over to the table, took her seat and said, "Sorry about my absence. I saw an old friend of mine walk by and just HAD to go talk to her. So anyways, maybe we can set up an evening where we meet at the bar or something. Anything more exciting than this place! Maybe our bosses would enjoy a night out!"

"Sounds good to me K, I was on my way out but come see me when you want to get together with the family".

Karmen smiled and nodded at KL, then said, "Sounds like a plan then. I'll get ahold of you somehow to plan a good day and time and all that. You have a good day, okay? Don't work too hard!"

With that said, Karmen got up out of her seat and quickly made her way out of the coffee shop so that she could get home and enjoy the rest of her day off.
