Cin had gotten heavily sidetrackced as she waited on her food. She hadn't even noticed it had been brought to her yet. Smiling as she finally smelled it. It would be a bit cold by now but she would enjoy it nonetheless.

She tucked her legs under her chair as she glanced down at her food. Each bite was just heavenly and ended her hunger. She devoured her food and smiled over at the waitress. Waving her down she waited until the waitress got to her.

"The food was magnificent. Here is what I owe for the meal and you can keep the rest."

Cin smiled as she noticed the waitress didn't know what to say. She had left a large tip and now it was time for her to get back to work. Grabbing her things she headed out the door but she'd be back.

Rae pushed open the door and looked around the building. The place was fairly busy, but there was a free booth near the back. She pulled her gloves off as she walked towards the booth. Sliding in she set her purse on the seat next to her and fumbled around before pulling out a book. She had recently picked it up, and with a few hours to kill before her plane was due to take off, she figured she'd grab a bite to eat and have some time reading. She opened the book and started to read, waiting for someone to come over to take her order. 

As he waited, Nixe saw a familiar face enter the small diner. RayLin. Getting up from his booth, the brunette moved to greet his friend. As he made his way over to her, the woman took out a book and began to read, an action that made Nixe himself chuckle. Ah, good ole Rae. "Rae!" The male called out, a bright smile plastered onto his face. "How are you?" Hovering a couple of steps away, he waited for what surely would be a response.

She had just turned the page, and had completely forgotten where she was when a voice called out to her. She jerked in her seat, her knee painfully colliding with the top of the table with a large crash. "Oh Mother Fu.." She said as she dropped the book and reached under the table to rub her knee. "Why the hell would you sneak up on someone like that?" She demanded as she glared at Nixe who was standing there with a smile on his face. "Honestly, you gotta ease me back into the real world." she said with a sigh before picking up her book and sliding a napkin into it to mark her place. 

Resisting the urge to chuckle as she startled, Nixe slid into the seat across from Ray, "You had just picked it up, I didn't think you were so exchanged already." He said, the tease evident in his soft tone. Though, as an avid reader himself, he did understand getting sucked in. Bringing the cup of tea (I ordered tea, right? I forgot) to his tips, the brunette sipped at the lukewarm liquid. "I almost missed ya when you came in."  

"Fair enough," Nixe said, "I often do so as well." When the topic turned to RayIn's supposed love story of the century, the brunette grinned. "I hope you're not implying something, because I'm horrid at reading in-between the lines," chuckled Nixe, as he followed suit - picking up a menu. In turn, this was followed by a saucy wink, not unlike her own. Though in all seriousness, he really did hope she wasn't implying anything. He wasn't lying when he mentioned that sublime messages weren't exactly his forte. 

"Woah, I'm an adult, at least," he argued playfully, his sea-green eyes never once leaving the menu. He was doing it for the benefit of his friend - considering he had actually placed an order roughly ten minutes before. "And hey, I have a stubble! I mean, it's a s-small stubble, but it's not like I'm completely baby-faced." Then again, Nixe pretty much looked a few years his junior.

"What about eggs," suggested the brunette, as he set the menu aside. "You can't really go wrong with eggs."

"The only access to eyeliner I would have was if I swiped it from you," Nixe rebuttled, not even batting an eye as Rae leaned in closer to inspect his real stubble. Cracking up at her comment of being 'fifty', the youngster said, "Fifty Rae? Impossible, you don't look a day over forty." His tone was light, a sure tease. And then the conversation was back to eggs. "If you can get ketchup with eggs, then I'm sure you can get fries."  

You're just jealous that I can grow a beard if I wanted to, and you can not. Oh god, it was that line that killed Nixe. Falling forward, the youngster laughed, unable to hold it in any long. "Y-you're truly a gem, Rae," he said, between wheezes. When his laughing fit refused to end after a few seconds, the brunette resorted to gulping down his glass of water to calm himself. Wiping away the tears, he shook his head ruefully. 

She raised an eyebrow at the man seated across from her and smiled evilly, "I notice you're not denying the fact." She told him before settling back in her seat and looking at the menu again. "I'm thinking I'm going to et a burger." she told him, "I will have to give into my cravings and have it with mushrooms, onions and swiss cheese." She rubbed her stomach with one hand, "Oh, that sounds like a winner to me." she said as her stomach growled. She chuckled, "How about you, have you already ordered?" She looked around the diner, "Actually, are you ignoring people to come have this conversation with me?" she asked, concerned. 

"I ordered a while ago," Nixe admitted, "But uh.. I've forgotten what it was.. maybe some breakfast? Who knows!" At her comment of him ignoring people, it was the brunette's turn to look concerned. "Have I?" He asked, truly unsure. "Er, I wouldn't know - I"ve been so enraptured in our discussion regarding my babyface and your mustache ridden mug."

Rae tossed her head back and laughed, "Brilliant." she said, "Absolutely brilliant." she shook her head and dabbed at her eyes with the napkin. "Well, one way to look at it, is you're going to be surprised when your food finally does arrive!" she told him with a laugh. 

She glanced up just as a waitress came over and smiled, "Hi, can I get a cheeseburger with mushrooms, onions and swiss, please?" she asked her "Oh, and  a diet soda please." She glanced over at Nixe and raised a finger, "Do not even say a word about my drinking, child." she told him sternly. 

Refusing to take the bait, NIxe's response was a simple smile. Leaning back, he adjusted his position in the chairs, almost tempted to sit with his legs folded in his lap. Sure, it was weird, but sometimes you just had to try something different. Especially for Nixe, who didn't fare well sitting in one place for too long. 

"Hey wait!" He called out, "You never answered my question. Am I ignoring something?"

She shrugged her shoulders as the waitress left with her order. "How the hell should I know? I didn't even see you when I came in!" she told him, "I figured if anyone knew if you were in conversation with someone, it'd be..." She frowned, "Well, you. Obviously." she smiled at the waitress when she brought her soda over and quickly unwrapped the straw, sticking it into the glass she took a sip and crossed her eyes at Nixe just for the hell of it. 

"Oh, you cheek. You make me out to be friendless." Bringing the mug up to his lips, Nixe resisted the urge to guzzle his order. The tea had been sweetened immensly, and all he wanted to do was savor it's sugary sweetness on his tongue. "For your information I have one, no.. two friends."

Pausing, a serious look came to his face as he said, "And I'm sitting across the table from one of them."

Rae grinned, "Oh, we're friends now, are we?" she asked him with her eyebrows raised. She shook her head, "I don't remember agreeing to that at all." She said before she took a sip of her soda. "But..." She glanced at him, "I suppose I would be fine with that arrangement." She told him with a laugh.
