To Con a Poor Schulb Started by: Stunn3r on Sep 25, '09 23:13

Stunn3r sat in one of the booth's of Mickey's downtown cafe. A cop munched on a donut a few booths down, completley unaware that she was going through a purse that wasn't hers. She smirked at him, ending with a teasing smile and pushed her plain white coffee mug to the edge of the table. Sally, the waitress that had a little meat on her bones and had worked at the cafe for as long as Stunn3r could remember, came around and filled up the mug.

After dropping three sugar cubes into the steaming liquid she blew on the top of the mug gently and took a sip. It was habit and she always burnt her toung. Every time she made some sort of noise, a high pitched squeak escaped her red lips and she quickly pulled her hand over her mouth, eyes wide open as she gasped at the embarrasing noise. Behind her, a table of thugs chuckled.

"Mickey" One of them said towards the cook in the back. "These kids you got in here don't even know how ta' drink your coffee."

Stunn3r let out an exagerated sigh and rolled her eyes. She turned in the booth, stood up and walked over to the thug table. She took the open seat like she was meeting the three men tonight before they'd go rob a museum.

"Hey!" The brown haired one shouted at her as she took the seat. "What do ya..." He trailed off as he started to stand.

Now, now Kids Stunn3r drew out the s, clearly annoyed that she was just moments before called a kid herself I wouldn't start anything with Mr. Donuts behind us.

She said, nodding her head down to the other end of the diner. Stunn3r then slid her hand over the booth and fished the old ladies purse over into the booth she now sat in. She started to take out it's contents and place them on the table.

"Hey honey, this ain't no pawn shop. Take your goods outta here and go find another lady to steal from."The words came from the brown haired one again, the other two let out a laugh.

Was I asking for you to buy these off of me? No. She then pulled out a diamond ring. But maybe this might interest you.

She held it out onto the table, spinning it slowly in her fingers so the light caught the jewel.

"That ain't nothin' honey, a fake. Costume jewelry is what they call that, go back to your theater."

This was the one that had spoke towards Mickey earlier about the coffee. Stunn3r shook her head and crinkled her pouty lips.

It's the real thing, believe it or not, but I guess if you don't then how do I impress you guys? How do I earn my stripes?

The two men looked at each other. Stunn3r had to make a name for herself some how and why not start with the thugs and move on up. Finally, one of the spoke. The words were simple and short and they poured from his chapped lips.

"Con a poor schulb."

Stunn3r took the ticket eagerly. Before any of them knew it she was out of the booth and walking down to Mr. Donut. It was her key to the city, her right of passage. The next step in a deadly game.

Got a light?

She asked the police officer kindly as she leaned over, the cigarrette dangling from her lips. Stunn3r couldn't help but smile a little as he fumbled for his match book. Eventually he got the darn match to light and brought the flame to the edge of her cig.

Why thank you sir. Can I repay you by keeping you company through your next coffee. She smiled at him sincerely. You can tell me all about your line of work. I've always been very interested in the law.

The statement was a bit true, more of breaking it, but never the less the officer didn't hesitate and she sat down right next to him. For the next five minutes she listened to him ramble on about his work. She giggled her and there to make it seem like she was actually interested and eventually she excused herself.

A girl needs to get her beauty sleep.

She thanked him again and as Stunn3r was walking out of Mickey's she dropped the officer's wallet on the table of the two thugs. Everything in it, but a few bills that were now in her pocket. She knew she'd see the men again for her next test to become apart of this thing of hours.
