RRR stands up to the increasingly popular crowd before him I am dedicating this story to Lorrie. I found myself walking across the streets as a civilian, just wondering in and out of shops, minding nobodies business. After several shops and several hours of walking, I decided to head home to my parents house with my two older brothers and younger sister. I start to make my way home, walking from ally to ally, field to field, across bridge to bridge, and finally one last ally. I knew as soon as I took my first step into this ally, I could feel a sense of false security, a sense of darkness coming from within the ally itself, and a sense of fear in my heart and ears. I ignore my senses and continue on down the ally. I hear footsteps. I hear increasingly louder breathing. I hear a gun being cocked. The footsteps stop moving, the breathing stops, the gun stays silent. I dare take a step further, I stop in my path and freeze. I feel like I'm a kid again, like I've been caught, like when my mum used to catch me stealing her money and catch me red handed, I just froze in my position. I hear a voice, "Turn around, slowly, let me see your face, boy." I turn around, slowly, and reveal my face. I'm scared to look anywhere but at these pair of beautiful eyes. I can't believe it. A woman? Yes, a woman. She'd dressed in a dark cloak with beautiful long brown hair down as far as I could see, with vibrant hazel eyes. She spoke to me again, "Aye, you are new around here?" I replied, "Err.. Ye... Yes, I, I moved here... Not long ago." She could tell I was nervous as I stuttered each word. She introduced me to herself, stepping out of the shadows so I could see her face properly and rest of her figure. I hadn't seen her before, but she seemed to know me inside out. We talked for several moments and she took me to a safer place, where I, to this day still haven't seen my parents, but not regretting a moment of it. |
