Since arriving on these shores, I have noticed that the hit list is rarely used. We all know this wouldn't be the case in real life as hits placed on specific targets were indeed common practice for a Mafioso. I have thought hard over, possible solutions in order for the hitlist to be a more usable and fun feature for our world.

The possible solutions that I have come up with so far:

When hit's are placed only those currently in that city can see the live hit. For example If a Hit was placed in Chicago, only those in Chicago can see the hit. I know telephones were commonly used during the 1920's and 30's. Therefore, we could also add the feature that if the person who places the hit wants the hit to be more widely know across the country, the individual who places the hit can pay extra fees per city or distance to increase knowledge of the placed hit.

 Another solution to increase activity on the hitlist would be to make all hit's placed private. A godfather or family leader would place hits in secrecy and would only hire someone they greatly trusted to take out a target. Therefore, if all hits were anonymous, those hitlisted could pay or have the option to bride an informant to give details on the Mafioso who wished for them to be Swimming with Da Fishes!

Obviously this would be a dangerous feature and for giving away information on hits would have to be very expensive to buy.

Another possible feature again going down the private line again to spice up the hit list. Could also be that when hits are place by a Family leader or Godafather, they could have an option to make there hit's private for only there families of family. Therefore If the Godfather or Don of NY for example wants to place a hit on another family member they can select the option that only members from NY family's can see the private hits.

this would be a waste of time because thats why cities have hitsquad leaders so they can secretly take out targets who they want dead..if a godfather go to his hitsqaud leader and say shoot this target then im pretty sure he will

i think you are missing his point shadow. If that is the case with what you say why bother having a hitlist at all?

I think there is some really good ideas out there chief Personally i prefer the idea where the Family leader or Godafather could have an option to make thier hits private for only thier families to see.

I love this idea. I've been trying to come up with ways to make the hitlist worth it. I mean, it rarely gets used, like you said, but it has so much potential.

I think making all hits private is a good step forward. Rarely was the source of a hit known, because let's face it, if you know who hired you to kill someone, then you know too much.

Now, my take would be:

GF can make CITY SPECIFIC hits. This means that if ThomasRourke puts a hit up, he can specify only NY can see it.

Crewleaders can post CREW SPECIFIC hits that only THEIR CREW AND THE GODFATHERS CREW can see. Also, The godfather would be allowed to post these hits.

And the idea of an informant to let you know who the poster is is a great idea. It could be handled like witness statments. Hell we could even throw the info skill in in here. You have to have an info skill that's greater then something to do with the hit itself, the amount of the hit, and any extra money put up to keep it secret, etc. The possibilities are endless, really.

I had a few ideas i was tossing around in my head.

How about all hits that are posted have a minimum time they are up for everyone to see before they can be paid off. Reasoning is that word of mouth will spread quicker, so more people will know that the person has a price on their head before the guy would be able to get cash together and pay it off.

Or another is, that once a hit is posted, the hit cant be paid off, either the person who placed the hit, or the target is dead.
