Vincent hears a Thug rambling on the streets about the deceased Sammy Gato, he decides to give his opinion no matter how unpopular it may be. He steps up to the man speaks and says,"Mate I don't think anyone will miss the turncoat Gato, he stood by while two city heads of his were murdered. He couldn't be trusted and should've died long ago. He stood by as Philly was killed and then again when Voodoo was murdered in his sleep." He stops and shakes his head, "If you think for a second that he was a honorable man and that what Godmother Duplicity did wasn't just then I'd say you no better than he is. This was the most just takedown that Don Duplicity has done I believe in my person opinion." Vincent steps back and waits for the young man to speak. |

Vincent_Valentine, are you implying that the fact that SammyGato stood by when Cersei's and Voodoo's districts got wiped make it just reasons for anyone, in this case the families of Chicago, to take out SammyGato? There were other reasons that made it understandable and just SammyGato and others in New York were removed, but his acts, or lack thereof during the take-downs you mention have hardly anything to do with it. I'd appreciate it if you don't go around telling Sammy is a turncoat, while clearly your father or no one else felt the need to say that out loud when he was still alive. If it's hindsight, please come out and mention the same things to others, still alive today, that walked the same path as Sammy did in those matters. Sure some leaders could have used Mr. Gato back then because he was quite a skilled gunman, but maybe they should've thought about investing more in this relative newcomer a bit before they were attacked. Others did and Sammy gave his loyalty to them. I don't see the reason why you go about saying bad things about someone you clearly didn't know that well and where you had little insight in his operation and relations. If this seems to you like some quick way to praise the work of Chicago and Godmother Duplicity, maybe gain a little "he's an okay guy", while apparently no one that matters or is alive gets hurt by your comments, then you're mistaken. You come of as rather cheap in my eyes. Sammy and the others in New York were killed for a sum of reasons, as expressed by Don Kimble. Your accusations of Sammy being a turncoat are injust and the matters you refer to have nothing to do with his removal. |

My father said plenty of times that he had lost respect for Gato because of his actions. And yes I'm saying that his actions were just to have him removed, because if he did it before then I see no reason as to why he wouldn't do it again. I know there were other reasons and this was not one of them but I'm stating my personal opinion on the matter, not once did I say that it was why he was killed because I don't know any true reason. I only know what has been told to the public and I can admit that. Also I never said anything about Gato's skill, because I know he was a skilled and very smart man. I only spoke on the fact that he let not one but two of his leaders die while he stood by and did nothing but save his own skin. Lastly nothing I said was to gain praise from anyone. I'd rather gain praise on my actions not what I pop off in the street saying. And I only say what I did about my Godmother because my father didn't agree with all her actions, but this is one that I personally agree with fully. Maybe she didn't have the same reasoning as I do for thinking the actions are just, but that is a moot point. And, I'd just like to say that by saying all of this I mean no disrespect to you and I'm sorry if it seems that I did. |

That is a very biased and quite unfair opinion on Don Gato, Vincent. I believe Sammy was under Credits in Bella Vista as part of Credit's special business model. Credits didn't die when Philadelphia got taken out, so why should Sammy? Or are you saying Credits is a turncoat as well and a takedown of him would equally be justified? I don't think so eh? He was under Brooklynn when Voodoo got taken out. Should have have defied his direct leader and sided with Voodoo? Now that would be an example of being a turncoat. Not the other way around.

If it's your personal opinion that Sammy is a turncoat, that's fine by me, but let's get it in the open that what you say is your opinion and not a solid fact everyone agrees on. The mentioned events had quite some variables and taking them all into account, Mr. Gato was no turncoat. The moment you mention the justness of his removal and the fact he was no honorable in one sentence, you make it sound like you believe that's the a big part of the reasoning for the takedown. Anyway, I'm not at all trying to dictate your opinion, but try to bring more nuance in what you say next time. Your portrayal of Mr. Gato is based on assumptions and the little you know. Evaluate for yourself if what you say is fair if you only know half the facts. If you still feel you need to make your statement, please do so, but also state that's a superficial opinion and don't make it seem like you're reciting an encyclopedia about a broadly accepted fact. That's all I wanted to say about this. Thanks for listening and clarifying your words. Take care, Mr. Valentine. |

Vincent shakes his head.. "Mr.Mosley, I'd have to say we have more turncoats in this day and age then I have seen in my time on these shores. And I understand Credits didn't die but he also didn't keep his family and move to another city under another leader. He disbanded and moved much like Eredin, they are not turn coats simply self preservation I'd call it." He takes a quick pause to read an entry in his fathers journal about Brooklyn and New York at the time Voodoo was killed. "I believe when the city head is killed it's everyone job in the city to act on it, was it just Mr.Gato who acted the way he did, no. But does that mean his actions are excused in my eyes, again no. The entire city of New York at the time just let their boss die. Should they have thrown themselves under a boss and went down swinging for their city head? I'd say yes, it would've been certain death but it's how you should act. Choose loyalty over life, I'd believe." |

Yes JagDaSelva, I won't act like I know all the facts. What I stated was just that my opinion, and not knowing all the facts could be very bias. But, in the world we live in not being given all the facts to something you weren't involved in is not an unusual thing. So I just have to speak off of what I think and the little I've learned through conversation with others. |

TheChallenger has shown a copy of the exact message transcript with the name eliminated. I had a long chat laughing with the writer over Duplicity's stupidity. The writer had never said what was accused. People were out to get the person who it was written to. It was well known as was the reason. The person had survived a previous war when several thought they shouldn't have.
Vincent, that is a ridiculous statement. One family in New York was given a pass. When the culprit of the hit was brought to light and hunted by New York for it the reason for killing should have ended. There was not one good reason for taking down The Zoo. Duplicity screwed up as did the lemmings that followed Dup. It was an excuse to build their guns, at best. |

But Vincent_Valentine, don't most people ''flip'' for the reason of self-preservation? So Sammy, whose district wasn't involved in a war, was allowed to transfer to another city under another district head. I can't see anything wrong with that but I guess our opinions differ on that point. Your last point (or accusation) does perhaps have some merit, but I don't see why that should be held against Sammy since that was entirely out of his hands. But by all means continue to call him a turncoat and insult those (probably the majority?) that find him an honorable man. |

Mates, (a term used too loosely) you have successfully somehow got off the topic hat hand. But then again, this happens when you want to ignore the facts. A human downfall. Lets run to the lame interview that took place with the tyrant. and see how well you fan out with your dribble. |

The pen is mightier then the sword and is far more effective then your gun. Looking around nobody can dispute this. I can give lessons on using the brain if interested. And the crowd roars? |
