Well i am a loyal packers fan and Brett Favre has always been one of my favorite players in any sport of all time. I don't believe that he should be hated for wanting to play the game he loves and the only team that gave him a chance was the Vikings. People always say that i should burn his jersey and i always reply how can i when he gave us 16 seasons of great playing. Setting records and making lambeau field amazing. 2 seasons with other teams cant just erase this. So i just wanted to get other peoples opinions on this topic because i want to know if i am the only one who supports him.

i like him but i think he should just stay retired, and quit when he was done with the packers

Yeah maybe he should have but atleast they are doing very good with favre. He turned the Jets around and now he is helping the Vikings too so he has it in him to keep playing. Maybe not after this season but he has it so that he will last for this season.

I have been a Packers fan my entire life, being raised in Wisconsin and living there for half of my life. I hold no ill will against Brett. He has already proven that he can still play, and I understand his decision to play for Minnesota.

First of all, to those people who do not understand the drama here, Minnesota and Green Bay are archrivals. Green Bay's hero is now playing for their most hated enemy. This has caused alot of animosity. But let's look at it from Brett's perspective...

He is a guy from Mississippi who has spent 16 years living in the upper Midwest. Anyone who has listened to his interviews knows how he has grown to love this part of the country. He has adopted the culture and grown to love the people. He has always viewed professional football as a game, albeit one that he plays very competitively. His friendly rivalry with Warren Sapp and other defensive backs in the NFC North showed that he played the game the way a kid plays it. So, when he signed to play with the Vikings, he was simply wanting to return to an area of the country that he loved for a team that was willing to give him a chance. His options were limited, as well. Brett did not view this decision as "high treason" the way some Packers fans might see it. To Brett, it is just a game. A friendly game. He plays it hard, but he does not take it so "life and death" seriously as many of the fans.

These are his last years that he will physically be able to play a game he loves. Why wouldn't he do it? In a few years, he will not have the luxury of choosing whether or not to play. Let me paraphrase another football great who said something along the lines of "everyone always says you should retire when you are on top. I think that's a bunch of B.S. I love this game. Why would I want to quit? I'm going to play as long as my body lets me. They are going to have to drag me off the field..."

Wish he would just go away already.  He is acting like he is bigger then the game.

We'll see what he does in week 12 when his arm is jello though. I hope he achieves what he is looking to achieve and then rides off into the sunset.

The great thing about Farve tonight against Green Bay is he shows the mindset of the average football fans, For years he has been the Viking's rival quarterback, but now that he is in purple they love him. It's just like all the athletes I can't stand but if they joined the teams I cheer I would probably get behind him. Maybe Farve is a glory hound but fuck it why not? I hope he does well.
