Anyone else watching this amazing World Series? My Royals are 2 games away from the title!

I've watch what I could from work.   Royals guy almost had a HR, but was snared away at the last second by that Mets dude last night (Score was 4-1 KC at the moment) couldnt tell you inning and who it was.   The way the Roayls smacked NYM  last night wasnt anything like Gm1

That was Rios in like the 8th I think. I can't believe he hit it that far. It was an amazing catch by the Mets (I think it was Cesponez)

Come on Dillon. Don't be one of "those" Jay's fans. That was a great series. If it's not the Royals, I can see the Jay and Astros fighting in the ALCS next year. Both teams are crazy good. 

I was amazed at how bad the redsox did this year. Even more amazing was how bad the Yankees were this year in comparison to recent years.

Well i have always said that the canadians created the best sport, Hockey.  Now a lot of the greats in the NHL past and present are canadian. 

Now i would say that Toronto should stick to what they are good at, hockey but they, like baseball, have 1 winning season a decade. 

In other words, what im trying to say without being offensive, is that Toronto would be able to afford to get decent players in any sport if they could win more than once every 10 years, give or take. 

If you cant have a winning season more than once every few years, you cannot afford to pay for the good players. 

1. No one player can carry the entire team to a championship. Eventually said players contract will end and he will seek out a team that can (A) have multiple winning seasons and (B) can afford to pay him what he wants or at the very least what he is worth. Most players are worth more after each season as they get better during and after every season until age catches up with them and their skills begin to decline.

2. Each title won nets the winning more money. Thus said team can afford to buy better players and have winning seasons repeatedly. Toronto is lacking money. What they need is pure raw talent from the minor league teams.

You can only spend so much time in the rebuild phase.

Money doesn't buy championships. Look at the Yankees and Dodgers for example. Stupid payrolls, zero World Series rings recently.

I agree with you to a certain degree. I have long said that buying talent would be the yankees undoing and recent years are example of that. 

But like in every aspect of life for the most part, money makes the world turn and its no different in the world of sports.

HOLY SHIT! THEY DID IT!  THE ROYALS ARE THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPS! I have been on cloud nine since last night. Going to the parade tomorrow. It's unbelievable.  After 30 years, they finally did it! 

Fuck Joe Buck. Go Royals!
