That's why you are supposed to talk to them and make a good judgment call when you decide to invite or not. |

And wouldn't this be a suggestion if you wanted them to ask for a change, when the associates die they get taken off the sponsor's page. |

Though I agree that it messes up your profile, I think that this adds to the RPing element of the game to a certain extent. If you were a mafioso and were looking out for some guy (e.g. Lefty looks out for Donny Brasco), then what he does reflects on you - if he turns out to be a loser and someone finds him suicided in the street, then that would affect your rep if you were a real mafioso. Having it on your profile is a way of adding the sense of risk that surrounds sponsoring someone that existed/exists in the real mafia. |

Maybe you should put up a suggestion in the Suggestion Forum for dead associates to be deleted when they die. |

Well, that's is actually the point. They don't get removed from your profile for that reason. If they're dead, you messed up, it's a shame thing. The hope is that you will smarten up the next time and pick a better associate. So choose wisely. |

Choosing wisely can be tough. I mean, some newcomers seem to lie at times. Say they'll work hard for you, then in 3 days you find out they've commited suicide. Bamn, nothing you may do. Anyways Vaniz, I don't think your profile is messed up. :] |

Anubis, I think you're going two different directions on this and it's confusing the hell out of me. I don't know if this is intentionally an in-character vs. administrative position but both statements were made today, by you, regarding associates:
I personally don't see a problem with removing the "dead" portions in order to remove clutter, but that's just my opinion. |

Do they go away after their funeral become unvisitable? I mean...who's going to care about dead associate A if you can no longer see his/her profile or funeral? |

Rourke, as I'm sure you are aware, PhelixTheSphinx is my playing character. On it I post my opinions on subjects from a play perspective. From an admin perspective, I give the coded reasoning behind things. In this instance it was discussed and explained to me that we would leave the associate showing in the sponsor's profile until that player was removed from the database, as a shame so people would think twice before randomly sending invites. So they do actually disappear after a while, as Quirinus has asked. |

Atleast your associates have the courtesy of killing themselves, so that you can atleast invite a new one in after a week, unlike waiting for them to be killed due to inactivity, then waiting a week. |

You can avoid that by guiding them or giving them a briefing of what to do, The pros and cons of every action, As a sponsor they working under you, why is there an option in your profile displaying every associate that work within your family? Their rank and their status? It shows how much your leadership skill is, How much you can lead a small crew that you've brought within your family. Example: If your leader sees the effort of your associate within the family it also shows how much leadership you have and with that you also impress him. |

Though I agree with the admin - position of Anubis on this, surely the same argument could be extended to crews. Shouldn't they also be shown up for doling out invites - I mean, there could be a ratio on the CL's profile next to his/her amount of family members, say in brackets, that was the invtites accepted:people who make earner ratio. So, say Mr XYZ is the CL, he has 30 family members. But he gives out loads of invites all the time, and most of his members suicide at thug, gangster, goomba. His ratio then might be (1:20) which would be bad. But Mr ABC only recruits very selectively, so most of his invitees make it to earner - his ratio is (1:2). This incentivizes good recruiting, and shows up bad recruiting - exactly like the current associate system. |

I was looking around at profiles, and wondering the exact same thing. I like the fact that they stay on people's profiles even after death. Really adds to the RP element. |

I think it should stay in your profile, you choose to take them on. Alot of people, will randomly request new people to be their associate. Even though the point i gather from this is to train new people in our way of life. In my opinion, similar to leaders of our crews you must decided whether this person is worthy to be your associate. Ask them some question, learn whether they are loyal and wish to be dedicated to our way of life. So maybe its a lesson learned to have dead associates in your profile, if you pick the first tom dick or harry that signs up to MR. |

Yeah you deserve to have it on your profile if you choose them and they get killed for messing up. But if they suicide or have to be killed for deciding this game wasnt for them then why would it be fair to you to have to deal with thier dead name on your profile. So I would lean towards not having them on your profile once they die because if an associate dies nobody really wants to have that reminder if it wasnt something they could prevent. So they should be removed. |

I am going to bring this topic back up because I think it is extremely relevant. Just because your associate dies doesn't mean you have horrible leadership skills. I think there should be a time limit for how long a dead associate stays on someone's page. You could talk to you associate and think he is going to be a star pupil and then he just flake out on you. If it is the fault of the sponsor then the family leader will know. If it is a case of IA, then the family leader will know. I just think that a dead associate should not stay on someone's page forever. |
