*Standing alone on a street that was recently dubbed by the godfatehr as 'His Turf' Fisk choked slightly on his cigarette before tossing it into the gutter, his immatture lungs yet to harden into the likes of mob bosses of whom puff away at huge cigars* *He stood fairly tall, and yet not very stocky but abley built. He was obviously young and naive, naive enough to currently care more about his appearance than that of his reputation, all of which was to come in good time though, as his attitude and the way he spoke displayed clear signs of an understanding of his position on the food chain and an adequate respect for those he did not know* "I wonder now, after being thrust into the life of crime by none other than a desperate need to survive, how life will treat me. I see alot of faces, of which I can only begin to guess at whom will turn around with a smile, a frown or a gun. "I am quite aware it would do me best to just keep quiet or at least careful when talking to anyone at such an inexperienced stage in my life. However I can't help but ponder as to if I sit back and let my reputation to come do my talking, if it will open up the doors and land me with the contacts I could only hope for now. "What I am asking I suppose, is does word travel around these parts or is it by meeting and greeting people yourself that makes you know? Do people want to be pestered by the new guys? Do people care to take a second to look around them and see who is up and coming, or at least pay others to do so?" *Fisk smiles and picks his hat up off a nearby windowsil as the first few spots of rain scattered down from the overcast sky* "Oh, and by the way, I'm Fisk, Fisk Capizzi" |

buttons up her coat after looking up at the sky and approaches Fisk Good afternoon Mr Capizzi, my names Orcus. I gotta say it's a breath of fresh air to see a gangster coming to the streets in such a way, don't get it about these parts much nowadays. To answer your question, I think it's a bit of both. Obvious personal impressions through a mail will keep you in peoples minds for better or for worse but word of mouth I would say is even more important. I think we can all recall some instances where someone appears genuine, only to find they've are quite different towards other people. I think that's why word of mouth is important, chances are you'd know what a person is like, drawing on the experience of others, and draw your own conclusions from that. What's more, in mail, someone might take you up the wrong way, where as on the streets, others can pull a person aside and explain to them what you meant and where you stand. Do people want to be pestered by new guys? I suppose that all depends on the new guy. But yeah I keep an eye on who is talking about the place, mainly out of interest rather than keeping tabs on them...but if people want to pay me, feel free! |

"When it comes to word of mouth, is this something that is being done day to day or is it only when it comes to a recommendation to a crew that a few words on the person is said? I'd like to think that a reputation around here is built with effort and upheld with the respect it deserves, as it wouldn't take much for such a thing to be destroyed" |

raises her eyebrows in suggestive surprise Come now Mr Capizzi, not everything is strictly business. Sure the conversation will pop up if someone is looking for sponsorship but a lot of the time it will arise from idle banter as a group sit on a park bench or behind the glass of a local coffee shop. Lets call a spade a shovel, we don't have nine to five jobs, so we have quite a bit of time on our hands to ponder about such things as they pass. As for respect and reputation, I have to say your right but like you said, what can be built, can be demolished with ease, usually from ones own doing sadly. |
