Did anyone from my crew mail helpdesk and request information on how to get past 20 units?

Thank you for this information squishy I for one am dissapointed that i have members stuck on units but will be rectifying this situation right away.

Do you mean the person you helped was from my crew or that the last person to ask generally was this morning?

The reason I ask is because this is an area we've taken an active interest in. I have various posters containing information like this throughout my HQ offering guidance. This particular question was actually answered by my RHM in a thread entitled "FAQ" which all our members have been asked to read. On top of this, BoabyWanKenobi, Ragnarok and I speak regularly with our members (who are mostly new players) to check that they are aware exactly what they should be doing and need to do in order to progress.

As the education of new members is an area that my team are actually going out of character in order to ensure is done properly, I'm a little offended with the inference that we are failing in this department, even should the 1 member listed above be a person who mailed helpdesk.

I can understand why a new player or player in general would be confused and ask HelpDesk or any other Admin account for help regarding ingame things...

At times we are told to consider some admin accounts the same as player accounts, Street Cleaner being an example.
Admins play and although not in itself a problem it does blurr that line further.
Admins answer similar question in IRC openly etc.
Admins direct player action at time (Demanding CL's not tax MM for their associates initially etc)

Those are just some of the ways that that line is blurred or confused.Don't get me wrong in some ways I love having an approachable admin staff, much better than a grp of holier than thou admins refusing to communicate with its user base. But it does lend itself to these situations.

This was by no means a dig or run at admins simply an observation regarding communication and open free speech between our userbase and admins which leads to these types of situations.

The point of my posting is because I found this to be a particularly unfair attempt to name and shame those who appear not to be educating their members correctly. I assume that was your intention when making this thread, because all the crew leaders had already been mailed directly several hours ago.

There is no real reason for the entire user base to get a breakdown like this other than to shame the person in question into action. A thread stating "Helpdesk will no longer be assisting with game strategy" and a modification of the quote would have got the same message across.

Therefore, as one of the people who was named above, I want to make it clear to anyone who might read this that the information presented is entirely misleading on behalf of my crew. Any investigative work or discussion with my members will show that they are fully aware of whom they should speak to and will probably confirm that they maintain regular contact with myself or my structure.

I have two members above Earner, both of whom are aware of how to get past 20 units - one is a Don. This means the likelihood of the number shown here beside my name being a result of those members being unable to progress past 20 units due to a lack of knowledge or possession of strategy, as this thread implies, extremely unlikely.

It is np, I have a wide field of vision and my focus can encompass both my crew within the Northern Lights family and slights upon my reputation.

I've already clarified my position on this and if you feel the problem is with me, you're welcome to your opinion. I however can't see any other way to interpret it than I have already done.

Awesome, basically Squishy just gave a loud whisper saying "Psst, some of your guys need help knowing how to carry more than 20 units". After that, it was just some dialog about how to interpret such data.

This of course is my own interpretation and probably debatable.

I fail to see why it was necessary to publish any kind of game stats. Fair enough if admins want to stop people emailing them asking why they are stuck, there are ways and means to do that, and if there aren't then that's down to flawed communication channels.

Given that the vast majority of families have at least a couple of people "stuck", then perhaps a bit of introspection into why such numbers are becoming stuck, may help. In the case of Tallien, I can say that he's definitely done more than you would reasonably expect with regards to this matter.

If people are still "stuck" beyond that, is it an issue with game mechanics? Who knows. You say there are 157 members "stuck". That must be pushing on 20% of all members? Even higher as a percentage when you consider the fact that many members won't be able to reach 20 yet I guess. If so, the issue is perhaps more than just "education".

To me, on the face of it, this seems a pointless exercise. Or, at least, it's been done in the wrong manner.

So what would one need to do to carry more? Because I don't know.

Speak with your crew advisor, or whoever is in charge of your education.
