Most of the time people in this lifestyle go around business as usual. Sirens constantly ringing out for one reason or another. Some kid robbed a corner store, or maybe a group of men took over a warehouse. I am no different than the next guy. I commit petty crimes, and even move a little cocaine from time to time. But it is all in an effort to make money. All an attempt to better myself and help my family grow. I don't believe in going around shooting at any and everybody I see, just because I can. Outside of a war, I tend to keep my guns holstered. I consider myself to be a peaceful Mafioso.

Last night was different. I let my anger get the best of me, and I did something that was completely out of character. It was about 10:30pm in my home town of Los Angeles. I had been drinking but I wouldn't say I was drunk. I only live about three blocks away from the HQ, so I normally walk home. I was walking as I normally do, and a lowly gangster bumps into me. My first thought was that he was a broke little kid with no respect, but I brushed him off and continued my walk. I reached into my pocket to grab my keys, and realized that I was missing the wad of cash I won playing BlackJack at the HQ. I immediately pulled my Colt .45 and ran down the street after the kid. He had slipped into a dark alley but I managed to catch up to him. I threw the kid up against the wall and demanded my money. He claimed he didn't know what I was talking about. Without thinking, I raised up the gun and pointed it in the center of his chest.

BANG!

I blew a hole in the center of his body, and he fell to the ground.

BANG!

A second shot to the head sealed his fate.

I looked over both shoulders and then took off running back to the HQ. As soon as I stepped foot in the room where we were playing cards, they all started laughing. Then I saw $5,000 sitting on the table where I was sitting. I had simply left forgot to take my winnings with me when I left. The moonshine must have had more of an affect on me then I thought. I had just shot an innocent man. It was just one of those nights...

Cassiopeia leans against the street light, smoking a cigarette as she listens to his speech. 'Damn,' she thought to herself, knowing all about one of those nights... The whole reason she limited herself  on the liquor these days. When he finished, she walked up and patted him on the back.

Thanks for sharing, if only we could all admit our mistakes so easily...

Then she flicked her cigarette to the ground, grinding it out with her heel before she disappeared down the street.

Lucy comes out of the shadows clapping her hands.....not everyone has the courage to admit a mistake like that

she lights a cig and continues.....shit happens, everyday......youre not the only one who made that kind of mistake, but not all of us have the guts to admit it

having said that, she turns around and desappears into the shadows

It's all to often that things like this happen and people just walk away from it without a second thought, being mafioso it's as though that is what is expected, so it is so refreshing to see a man who has made a mistake take it so hard.

Chin up mate, its one of those things you just have to keep in the back of your head for the future.

None of us are perfect so all we can do is try....It happens to the best of us
